USER GUIDE
Recommended Installation Equipment
- 5/32″ hex key
- Red Loctite or equivalent
- Vector Sensor with handbrake mount
- (3) 1-1/4″ long 5/16″ hex set screw
Vector Handbrake Mounting
STEP 1
Clean the mounting area. Release the handbrake of the railcar to the Off or released position. Position the Vector Sensor making sure that the label text is upright.
STEP 2
There will be one set screw on the right side and two on the left side.
Mount the three set screws halfway through by hand. Note: If you are not using Loctite powder-coated screws, apply red Loctite or equivalent to the threads of all three screws.
STEP 3
Use the 5/32” hex key to tighten all three set screws. Make sure the Vector Sensor remains centered in the bellcrank. Note: Ensure the set screws are pressing firmly against the bellcrank and not caught on the lip.
STEP 4
Now that the Vector Sensor has been installed, the sensor needs to be calibrated to provide accurate measurements.
STEP 5
Click the ” + ” button, navigate to preferred scanning method.
Hold smartphone NFC to the Vector sensor to verify connection and initiate the pairing process.
STEP 6
Sensor is now ready to be installed and paired.
Click the “Continue” button.
Ensure photos are clear and legible. Click the “Continue” button.
STEP 7
Select which mode to be used in operation, Handbrake Click the “Continue” button.
Follow on-screen instructions to begin calibration.
STEP 8
Fully release handbrake.
Click the “Start Scanning” button.
Follow on-screen instructions to begin calibration.
STEP 9
Fully apply handbrake.
Click the “HANDBRAKE APPLIED” button
STEP 10
Follow on-screen instructions to begin calibration.
STEP 11
Handbrake sensor has been paired successfully.
Click the “Finish” button.
Vector Handbrake Recalibration
RECALIBRATION STEP 1
Navigate to impacted device. Click the “MANAGE DEVICE” button.
RECALIBRATION STEP 2
Select to access recalibration menu
RECALIBRATION STEP 3
Initialize recalibration.
Click the “RECALIBRATE” button.
Follow Steps 7-10 on front page to recalibrate sensor.
RECALIBRATION STEP 4
Handbrake sensor has been recalibrated successfully. Click the “Finish” button.
Vector Handbrake Demounting
STEP 1
Select “MANAGE DEVICE” for the desired device / sensor(s) you wish to unpair.
STEP 2
Select “DEMOUNT DEVICE”
Press “OK” to confirm unpairing process for device / sensor(s)
STEP 3
Device / sensor(s) have been successfully unpaired from asset. continue by clicking “FINISH”
STEP 4
If applicable: Continue by installing the new device to the asset and use the Nexxiot Mounting App to connect the new device to the asset. When the device is taken out of service, it must be returned to Nexxiot Inc. (if not otherwise agreed contractually).

Product Usage Instructions
Mounting the Vector Handbrake Sensor

- Hold a smartphone with NFC to the sensor to initiate pairing.
- Follow on-screen instructions for calibration and operation mode selection.
- Ensure proper installation by following calibration steps 7-10.

FAQ
How do I recalibrate or demount the Vector Handbrake Sensor?
To recalibrate, navigate to the impacted device, select MANAGE DEVICE, and access the recalibration menu. Follow the on-screen instructions for recalibration.
