Important Notes

• Do not install or use the camera with wet hands.
• Do not install the camera in a humid environment or near liquids or flammable gases. The camera should be installed in a location where it does not obstruct the driver's view and safety.
• Do not leave the camera mounted in a car exposed to extreme heat.
• Do not use power exceeding the maximum voltage.
• Only use the original charging cable. The manufacturer is not responsible for damage caused by other charging cables.
• Do not disassemble the camera or charging cable. Do not cut the charging cable. Resulting damage is not covered by warranty.
• Do not press the lens with force.
• Do not use sharp objects on the camera or accessories.
• Do not remove the Micro SD card when the camera is recording or shutting down to prevent file damage.
• It is recommended to use a Class 10 Micro SD card with a minimum capacity of 8GB (maximum allowed memory is 128GB).
• For stable read and write operations, the Micro SD card must first be formatted in the camera before first use.
• Do not interrupt the power supply during a system update, otherwise the camera may not start up again.

Installation Method

1. Install the Holder

   ① Attach the holder into the slot at the back of the camera.

   ② Remove the adhesive protector from the sticker.

   ③ Choose a suitable location to install/mount the camera; ensure this is the best position for optimal visibility while driving.

2. Connect to the Car Charger

   Plug the USB charging adapter into your vehicle's 12V / 24V power outlet. Connect the Mini USB cable to the Mini USB port of the camera.

3. Adjust the Viewing Angle

   Adjust the angle by moving the lens up and down.

Tips

• Do not enable Motion Detection unless your vehicle is parked. If Motion Detection is enabled while driving, the camera cannot record continuously.
• It is recommended to keep the G-Sensor on 'Low' (Default setting).

Interface

The VIOFO A119 V3 dash cam features several buttons and ports for operation:

• (1) Power Button: For turning the device on/off.
• (2) REC / Left Button: Starts/stops recording, navigates left in menus.
• (3) Menu Button: Accesses the settings menu.
• (4) Emergency / Confirm Button: Triggers emergency recording, confirms selections.
• (5) Microphone / Right Button: Toggles audio recording, navigates right in menus.
• (6) USB Port: For power and data connection.
• (7) AV Out: For video output.
• (8) Reset Button: Resets the device.
• (9) SD Card Slot: For inserting the Micro SD card.
• (10) USB Port: Additional USB port.

Operation

1) Power On

Insert the Micro SD card into the camera's card slot. Connect the USB car adapter to the vehicle's 12V / 24V power outlet, connect the mini-USB cable to the USB car adapter and the Mini USB end to the camera's Mini USB port. Start the engine, and the device will automatically power on.

2) Power Off / On

1. Automatic: When the camera is powered on, simply turn off the engine or disconnect the charging cable, and the camera will automatically power off.
2. Manual: Manually turning off the camera is required for vehicles with a 12V / 24V power outlet that continues to supply power after the engine is turned off.
3. If the camera is powered on, hold the power button for at least 5 seconds to turn the camera OFF.
4. Hold the power button for at least 3 seconds to turn the camera ON.

3) Loop Recording

1. Insert a Micro SD card into the camera's card slot, and automatic loop recording will begin as soon as the camera detects power.
2. The duration for each video file is 1/2/3/5/10 minutes.
3. If there is insufficient space on the Micro SD card, recording will automatically overwrite the oldest files (one by one).
4. Loop recording files are saved on the SD card in: DCIMMovie map.

4) Emergency Recording

1. Automatic Emergency Recording: When the G-sensor is activated due to a collision, current footage will be automatically locked to prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording. (Note: Collision detection function can be adjusted in settings under the "G-sensor" option).
2. Manual Emergency Recording: If you press the emergency recording button during a recording, the current file being recorded will be locked. Once locked, the file will no longer be overwritten by loop recordings.

5) Motion Detection

If enabled, the camera will start recording when motion is detected within its field of view. Once the camera does so but detects no motion for 60 seconds, it will stop recording and return to 'Motion Detection' mode. Recording will resume if new motion is detected.

6) Playback

1. In video mode, press the [▲] button to open the playback list.
2. Use the arrow buttons [REC ⏺] [MIC ?] to select the desired video and press the [▲] button to play.
3. Press the menu button to exit.

7) PC Mode

1. Connect the camera to a computer using a mini-USB cable.
2. The device will automatically power on and display [B].
3. The computer will detect a "removable disk".
4. Three folders will be visible under the DCIM folder: Movie (Loop-recorded video files), RO (Event recording files), Photo (Video snapshots).
5. Copy files as needed to your computer drive.

8) Mute

During a private conversation, you can press the "MIC ?" button to mute the sound.

9) Firmware Upgrade

1. Download the latest firmware, unpack the file. Copy and paste or drag the .bin file to the root of the Micro SD card.
2. Insert the Micro SD card into the camera's card slot once the transfer is complete.
3. Plug the power adapter into the socket and turn the camera ON.
4. The LED indicator will start flashing to confirm the update progress.
5. The camera will automatically restart after the update is complete.
6. The currently installed firmware version can be verified by opening the 'Version' tab in the settings menu (last tab).

Settings

Press the Menu button during video mode to open the settings. (Recording must be stopped)

• Resolution: Set the video resolution for recorded footage. Options include 2560x1600p 30fps; 2560x1440p 30fps; 2304x1296p 30fps; 1920x1080p 60fps, 1920x1080p 30fps, 1280X720p 120fps, 1280x720p 60fps, 1280x720p 30fps.
• Bitrate: Adjust the bitrate for video. High bitrate improves video quality and fluidity, especially for fast-moving scenes or high-contrast recording. High bitrate mode may reduce available recording time on your memory card. Using a low bitrate saves space and records for a longer time.
• Loop Recording: Set recording segments to 1/2/3/5/10 minutes.
• Video Formats: Options are .MP4 and .TS video format. .TS format is better to prevent file corruption.
• Exposure: Adjust the EV (Exposure Value) to achieve better recording results under different lighting conditions. The range is up to +2.0. The default value is 0.0.
• WDR (Wide Dynamic Range): Dynamic range is the ratio of the brightest part of the image to the darkest part of the image. WDR allows the camera to provide almost perfect exposure in various lighting situations.
• Parking Mode: There are 3 options under parking mode:
  • ① Automatic Event Detection: The camera automatically records for 1 minute if it detects object movement while parked. The camera will stop recording if no new movements are detected.
  • ② Time-lapse Recording: Time-lapse records video at low frames per second (1/2/3/5/10/15 fps). It continues recording without audio.
  • ③ Low Bitrate Recording: This mode records video at a low bitrate of 4MB/s for both front and rear. It continues recording in mini-format with audio.
  Note: VIOFO recommends purchasing the VIOFO HK3 ACC cable set for parking mode recording.
• Parking G-sensor: The G-sensor detects sudden movement, such as a collision, and will activate a special recording. It is recommended to set this to high sensitivity in parking mode.
• Parking Motion Detection: Adjusts the sensitivity of motion detection so that small movements, caused by wind or rain, do not create recordings in parking mode.
• Time-lapse Recording: Records video from frames captured at specific time intervals to save memory and shorten the time for reviewing videos. The default value is 0.
• Motion Detection: When this function is activated, a recording is made if there is movement in front of the camera. Once the camera detects no movement for 60 seconds, the recording will stop, and the device will switch to detection mode. The device will resume recording if new movement is detected.
• GPS: Enables/disables GPS tracking. If disabled, your camera will no longer measure your speed and position, nor the time/date. (Only available when connected to a GPS signal).
• Speed Unit: Sets the speed unit to kilometers per hour (KPH) or miles per hour (MPH).
• G-sensor: The G-sensor measures shock forces. The setting from 'Low' to 'High' determines the amount of force required to record the file and prevent it from being overwritten by loop recording. It is recommended to keep it set to 'Low'.
• Date Stamp: Prints the time and date on the recorded video.
• GPS Info Stamp: Prints GPS information on the recorded video.
• Camera Model Stamp: Prints the camera model on the recorded video.
• Audio Recording: Toggles the microphone ON/OFF. This can also be activated by pressing the [MIC ?] button, even while the camera is recording.
• Screen Saver: Turns the screen OFF after a set time.
• Boot Delay: The camera starts seconds later when powered on. Settings are 0s / 5s / 10s.
• LED: Toggles the LED light ON/OFF.
• Date / Time: System date / time setting.
• Time Zone: Sets the current time zone for GPS time and date calibration. Note: The time zone must be manually adjusted for daylight saving time.
• Language: Displays language settings (English, Traditional Chinese, French, etc.).
• Beep Sound: Toggles all notification sounds ON/OFF.
• Frequency: Adjusts frequency to minimize flickering and banding in the recorded video.
• Image Rotation: Flips the screen upside down.
• Format: This operation deletes all data on the Micro SD card. Note: After formatting the Micro SD card, all information is deleted and cannot be recovered. Make sure to back up all important files before formatting your SD card.
• Format Warning: Sets the number of days between format warnings.
• Default Settings: Restores the camera to factory settings.
• Car Number: Prints a custom set of 11 digits on the recorded video. Useful for adding license plates or identifying functions.
• Custom Text Stamp: Prints custom text on the recording.
• Firmware Version: Checks the current firmware version.
