Important Safety Instructions
WARNING: Always read the enclosed safety instructions carefully before using the appliance. Failure to follow these instructions can lead to accidents and injuries.
CAUTION: Indicates possible hazards to the appliance or other objects.
Do not carry or lift the appliance during operation. Switch it off and unplug it before moving. Allow it to cool down.
Operate the appliance only under supervision.
Do not operate without the crumb tray inserted, as it also serves as a heat shield.
Never insert forks, knives, or similar objects into the toasting slot.
Be cautious of burns when removing small bread slices.
Do not overload the bread roll attachment. Only place one bread roll on it.
Set the browning level selector to a maximum of level 3.
Wait one minute between toasting cycles.
Never spread fat or butter on the roll, as it can drip down and catch fire.
Before First Use
To remove the protective layer on the heating coil, operate the appliance approximately three times without toasting food. Select the highest browning level. Slight smoke and odors are normal during this process. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Operation
- Unwind the mains cable completely.
- Connect the appliance only to a properly installed earthed socket.
- Place bread slice(s) in the toasting slot and pull the carriage down with the lever until it locks. Control lamps will illuminate.
- Press the browning level button repeatedly to adjust the desired browning level from lightest to darkest (level 7). Start with a lower setting if unsure.
- The appliance will start toasting. It automatically switches off when the set browning level is reached, and the carriage moves up.
- When finished, disconnect the mains plug from the socket.
Special Functions
To use special functions, press the respective button after lowering the lever. The corresponding control lamp will indicate the function:
- Cancel: To stop the toasting process prematurely.
- Defrost: For defrosting and then toasting frozen bread.
- Bagel and baguette: For one-side toasting. Cut the bagel or baguette in half and place it in the toaster with the cut side facing outwards.
- Reheat: To reheat bread that has already been toasted.
Bread Roll Attachment (Removable)
To warm up or toast bread rolls:
- Fold down the metal hooks of the attachment.
- Place the attachment on the toasting slot.
- Operate the appliance as described previously.
To fold the hooks back, pull them apart slightly.
Cleaning
WARNING: Always unplug the appliance and let it cool down before cleaning. Do not immerse the appliance in water, as this could cause electric shock or fire.
CAUTION: Do not use wire brushes or abrasive objects/cleaners.
Clean the housing and bread roll attachment with a moderately damp cloth.
The crumb tray is located on the opposite side of the carriage lever. Pull it out, remove bread residues, and reinsert the tray.
Storage
Clean the appliance as described. Store in original packaging if not in use for extended periods. Keep out of reach of children in a dry, well-ventilated area.
The mains cable can be wound up at the bottom of the appliance.
Troubleshooting
