Summary

The document includes a parts list and assembly instructions for the Profi Cook PC-GG 1256 Gas Barbecue. Key components are illustrated and numbered for easy identification during assembly.

List of Pieces

The document provides a detailed list of all components included with the barbecue, along with their item numbers, descriptions, quantities, and packaging information. This list is essential for verifying all parts are present before assembly.

Assembling the Grill

To assemble the barbecue, you will need:

Beforehand, remove the protective film attached to the surfaces. For assembly, refer to the parts list and the illustrated assembly instructions on the following pages.

The assembly process is detailed through numbered diagrams, showing the connection of various parts using screws and nuts as specified.

Gas Connection

General Information

The barbecue can be operated with gas cylinders weighing between 5 kg and 11 kg. Low-pressure butane, propane, and LPG gas mixtures are approved. The barbecue works best with propane gas and LPG mixtures. Butane can be used, but due to the appliance's power rating, the gas cylinder may freeze, causing the gas pressure to drop and reducing the barbecue's performance. Use a regulator certified according to DIN EN 16129.

NOTE: For information on the correct regulator for gas cylinders, consult your LPG dealer.

Regulator and Hose

These parts are supplied with the barbecue. Spare parts are available from your dealer or an approved LPG supplier. Only use hoses and regulators approved for LPG with the pressure stated above. The service life of a regulator is typically 2 years. Replacement within 2 years of the production date is recommended.

WARNING:

Connecting the Gas Cylinder

A connection is established via a flexible hose and the correct low-pressure regulator. The low-pressure regulator should be fitted onto the gas cylinder.

  1. Remove the protective cap and thread protector from the gas cylinder.
  2. Select a suitable wrench and hand-tighten the coupling nut (attention: left thread) of the low-pressure regulator onto the gas cylinder.
  3. Select a suitable wrench and hand-tighten the coupling nut (attention: left thread) of the hose onto the low-pressure regulator.

Connecting the Appliance

Spiderwebs or insects can block the burner or pipe. Before connecting, ensure the burner and burner ports are clean. The gas connection is located on the right side of the appliance, level with the adjustment knobs.

Finding Areas with a Bad Seal

CAUTION: Before use, check for areas with a bad seal.

Refer to figures 23 and 24. Leaking areas will become apparent in soapy water. You need approximately 50 ml in a 1:3 mixing ratio (liquid soap: water).

  1. Ensure all adjustment knobs are in the 12 o'clock position (OFF).
  2. Once all components are connected as described, turn on the gas.
  3. Spread the soapy water on the hose and all connections. If bubbles appear at a point, that area has a bad seal and must be repaired before use.
  4. Repeat the test after repair.
  5. After the test, shut the valve on the gas cylinder.

If you find a section with a bad seal that you cannot repair, consult a gas technician.

Gasgrill betreiben

CAUTION: If the hood is closed, only barbecue at a low setting!

NOTE: Zur ersten Inbetriebnahme

Before preparing food for the first time: Close the lid and let the gas burn at a LOW setting for 15 minutes. The smells from the surface treatment are eliminated by the high temperature.

Installation Site

The barbecue is for outdoor use only. During use, always place the barbecue and the gas cylinder on an even, stable surface.

CAUTION: During operation, the gas cylinder should not be placed inside the barbecue.

If You Notice the Smell of Gas

  1. Close the gas valve on the cylinder.
  2. Extinguish naked flames and do not use electrical devices nearby.
  3. Ventilate the area.
  4. Look for areas with a bad seal (as previously described).
  5. If you still smell gas, contact your dealer or a gas specialist.

Switching the Gas Barbecue On

  1. Before igniting the burner, open the barbecue hood.
  2. Turn all switches clockwise to the 12 o'clock position (OFF).
  3. Connect the gas hose to the gas cylinder and the barbecue.
  4. Shut off the gas supply on the gas cylinder.
  5. Is the system properly sealed? Check connections for leaks using soapy water or leak detection spray.
  6. CAUTION: Always start with the left adjusting knob/burner 1! All other burners are ignited via the ignition channel.
  7. Press the left adjusting knob and turn it counterclockwise.
  8. You should hear a CLICK. The left burner 1 is ignited.
  9. While turning the adjustment knob further towards HI, check if the flame is burning. If not, repeat the process.
  10. If the burner still does not ignite, wait 5 minutes and repeat from step 6.
  11. If the burner does not ignite electrically, contact your gas dealer to have the ignition repaired.
  12. Turn the adjustable knob to regulate heat between HI and LOW.
  13. Ignite the remaining burners from left to right by repeating steps 6 to 10. The next burner is ignited via the ignition channel between the burners.
  14. To switch off the barbecue, close the valve on the gas cylinder.
  15. Then, turn the adjustable knobs to the 12 o'clock position (OFF).

Heat Distribution on the Barbecue Grille

Due to the burner design, heat distribution is as follows:

Zone 3 (Back): Barbecue cooking

Zone 2 (Middle): Cooking

Zone 1 (Front): Keeping warm

Heating Capacity of the Burners

Burner 1 (Left): 350°C

Burner 2 (Middle): 350°C

High-performance burner 3 (Right): 450°C

Temperature Development in General

Due to the design, the highest temperatures occur directly at or above the burners and decrease upwards. The thermometer integrated in the lid can only measure the temperature in the upper area of the cooking chamber. Therefore, displayed temperatures are lower than actual temperatures at the burners or grill surface. The thermometer serves as a guide for your grilling process.

Tips for Barbecue Cooking

The gas barbecue is a multifunctional appliance. With the hood closed, you can use it like an oven.

Servicing

Your gas barbecue should be serviced annually by a technician.

Maintenance and Protection of Stainless Steel and Enamel Surfaces

Your gas barbecue requires regular care to maintain its appearance. Stainless steel, contrary to popular belief, is not rust-resistant or maintenance-free. Even high-quality stainless steel needs regular cleaning to prevent rust and other forms of corrosion. Brushed stainless steel, which is currently popular, is susceptible to corrosion without proper care. The medium-hard stainless steel used in your grill requires cleaning and protection for long-term enjoyment.

After assembly, we recommend protecting the accessible stainless steel surfaces with a thin layer of olive oil applied with a clean cloth. Polish afterwards and remove oil residue with a clean cloth. This proven method is food-safe and also facilitates cleaning and fingerprint removal. Regular repetition of this procedure will make removing stubborn dirt easier.

Use of Protective Covers

If the barbecue is not used for a long time, using protective covers is recommended, provided the barbecue has been cleaned and dried thoroughly. Ensure the protective cover is breathable, as residual moisture and condensation can create a damaging, moist atmosphere under the cover, leading to corrosion even in high-quality steels.

Enamelled Surfaces

Enamel is an excellent surface coating but breaks easily. Handle enamelled parts with care.

Storing the Gas Barbecue

Gas Cylinder

Always handle the gas cylinder with care!

Disposal

Packaging

The product packaging mostly consists of reusable materials. Help protect the environment! Dispose of materials in the relevant recycling containers.

Gas Barbecue

At the end of its service life, do not dispose of the gas barbecue with household waste! Ask your local authority or a local recycling company about the proper way to dispose of your product.
