Getting Started: Unpacking and Preparation
This guide provides instructions for unpacking and installing your Samsung TV. Please follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth setup.
Step 1: Unpacking the TV
Carefully open the box. The contents will vary slightly depending on your TV size (75-inch or 85-inch).
For 75-inch models: Follow the specific unpacking instructions shown. Ensure you have adequate space.
For 85-inch models: Follow the specific unpacking instructions shown. These models are larger and heavier, requiring more careful handling.
Verify that all components are present before proceeding. Look for accessories, stand parts, and the TV itself.
Step 2: Connecting Cables
Identify the various ports on the back of your TV:
- USB Ports: For connecting external storage devices like USB drives or external HDDs. One port is typically rated for 5V 0.5A (?), suitable for smaller devices, while another is rated for HDD (? 5V 1A) for larger storage.
- HDMI Ports: For connecting video and audio sources such as Blu-ray players, game consoles, or streaming devices. Ensure you use the HDMI port labeled "(eARC)" or "ARC" ([eARC/ARC]) for audio output to soundbars or receivers.
- LAN Port: For a stable wired internet connection (?).
- Optical Port: For digital audio output (?).
Step 3: Attaching the Stand
There are two primary stand configurations, labeled A and B, for attaching the TV stand to the TV base.
- Stand A: Attach the stand components as illustrated. Use the provided screws to secure the parts.
- Stand B: Attach the stand components as illustrated. Use the provided screws to secure the parts.
Ensure screws are tightened securely but do not overtighten to avoid damaging the threads. The diagrams show correct orientation and screw placement, with ✔️ for correct and ❌ for incorrect assembly.
Step 4: Mounting the TV
The TV can be placed on a stand or mounted on a wall.
Stand Placement: Follow the diagrams for correct placement on a stable, level surface. Ensure the stand is fully assembled and attached securely.
Wall Mounting: If wall-mounting, ensure you use appropriate hardware for your wall type (e.g., drywall anchors, studs). The diagrams show how to attach mounting brackets to the TV's VESA mounting points. Note the VESA mounting hole specifications.
VESA Mounting Specifications:
- For QA75QN900FXXZW: 400 x 400 mm, using M8 screws (13-15 mm length).
- For QA85QN900FXXZW: 600 x 400 mm, using M8 screws (13-15 mm length).
The diagrams illustrate different orientations for stand attachment and wall mounting, including warnings ⚠️ against incorrect placement or handling. Labels [Left] and [Right] indicate sides.
Step 5: Safe Handling and Positioning
Two-Person Lift: It is recommended that two people lift and move the TV to prevent injury or damage. Hold the TV by the indicated areas (refer to diagrams for grip points).
Caution: Do not place the TV on its side or upside down for extended periods, as this can damage the screen or internal components. Ensure the TV is always placed upright on a stable surface or securely mounted.
The diagrams illustrate safe lifting techniques and warnings ❌ against improper handling.
Step 6: Attaching Accessories
Connect any additional accessories or cables as shown in the diagrams, such as external speakers or network cables.
Step 7: Final Connections and Power
Connect power cables and other peripherals after the TV is securely positioned and all connections are made. Follow the diagrams for the final connection sequence and power-up.
