1 Connect the antennas
- Place the antenna evenly over the antenna terminal located at the upper left or right corner of the rear panel.
- Turn the antenna clockwise until it is fully connected. Do not over tighten.
- Rotate the antenna upwards for the best possible reception.
NOTE: The antennas are required for both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi functions.
Optional: If you are connecting CD 50n to a wired network, connect an Ethernet cable (not included) between the player and your router. Do not connect the Ethernet cable if you are connecting the player to a wireless network.

2 Connect the player to your amplifier
Connect the AUDIO OUT (L/R) ports on the back of the Marantz CD 50n to the AUDIO IN (L/R) ports on your amplifier using the provided audio cables.

3 Connect TV audio (optional)
- Connect one end of the HDMI cable to the TV port labeled "ARC" or "eARC". The CD 50n does not support eARC functionality, but can use ARC functionality with an eARC port.
- Connect the other end of the HDMI cable to the HDMI ARC port on the back of the CD 50n.
NOTE: The TV connection is used to pass audio to the CD 50n from your TV's built-in sources (tuner, smart TV apps, etc.) and HDMI devices connected to your TV. The CD 50n does not generate any video output. Ensure your TV's audio output settings are configured for 2ch PCM audio, as Dolby Digital and DTS audio are not supported.

4 Connect to power
Connect the power cord between the CD 50n and a wall outlet.

5 Install batteries in the receiver remote control
Open the remote control's battery compartment and insert two R03/AAA batteries, observing correct polarity. Batteries can be taken out in reversed order.

6 Use the HEOS app to complete CD 50n setup
First time setting up HEOS Built-in device
- Go to the Apple App Store, Google Play, or Amazon App Store and search for "HEOS" to download and install the app.
- Launch the HEOS app and follow the on-screen instructions.
I have setup at least one HEOS built-in device on my network
If you already have the HEOS app and have set up at least one HEOS built-in device, follow these steps to add the CD 50n to your wireless network:
- Select the Settings ⚙️ icon in the upper-left corner of the main "Music" menu to display the Settings menu.
- Select "Add Device" from the HEOS app's Settings menu and follow the instructions.
NOTE: You will need to use the CONNECT button on the rear panel of this unit when connecting to a wireless LAN network. Place the unit within reach of the CONNECT button until network configuration is complete. Alternatively, you can use the HEOS button on the remote control; press and hold it for at least 2 seconds.
7 Enjoy your music
Enjoy Internet Radio
- Press the [INTERNET RADIO] button on the remote control.
- Select the station you want to play, then press [ENTER].
- Select "Play Now", then press [ENTER].

(Note: You can also use the HEOS app to control your device and select your favorite TuneIn radio station.)
Enjoy music using Apple AirPlay
- Open Control Center on your iOS device, then tap the AirPlay icon ? in the audio card.
- Select "Marantz CD 50n" from the AirPlay Device list.
- Choose music to play from your iPhone, iPod touch, or iPad.

(Note: You can also AirPlay audio from an app you're using on your iOS device. Just open the app, tap the AirPlay icon, then tap a speaker or multiple speakers.)
Enjoy music using Bluetooth
- Press the [Bluetooth] button on the remote control to select Bluetooth. The player automatically enters pairing mode on first use.
- Activate Bluetooth on your mobile device.
- Select "Marantz CD 50n" from the Bluetooth device list on your mobile device.
- Play music using any app on your mobile device.

(Note: To pair with other Bluetooth devices, press and hold the [Bluetooth] button on the remote control for at least 3 seconds.)
8 Listen to computer audio via USB-DAC
1 Install the Windows driver software
NOTE: Driver installation is not necessary if you are not playing music from a PC via USB-DAC or if you are using macOS. Ensure your PC is not connected to the unit via USB during installation. If connected, disconnect the USB and restart the computer before proceeding.
Windows OS
System requirements: Windows 10 or Windows 11
- Download the dedicated driver from the "Download" section of the CD 50n page on the Marantz website (www.marantz.com) onto your PC.
- Unzip the downloaded file and double-click the .exe file.
- Follow the on-screen instructions in the installer wizard, selecting the language and clicking "OK".
- When the wizard is completed, click "Yes" to finish. You may need to disconnect and reconnect your device.

2 Connect to PC or Mac
Connect the Marantz CD 50n to your computer using a USB 2.0 cable (Type B to Type A, not included). Ensure the driver software and an audio player are installed on your computer.

3 Listen to audio from PC or Mac
- Power on the CD 50n.
- Press the [USB-DAC] button on the remote control to switch the input source to "USB-DAC".
- Set the audio signal destination on your computer to the CD 50n.
Windows OS
- Open the "Control Panel" on your PC.
- Click the "Sound" icon.
- In the "Playback" tab, ensure "CD 50n" is set as the "Default Device". If another device is selected, click "CD 50n" and then "Set Default".
- Select "CD 50n" and click "Properties".
- Click the "Advanced" tab.
- Select the desired sampling rate and bit rate. "2 channel, 32 bit, 192000 Hz (Studio Quality)" is recommended.
- Click "Apply".
- Click "Test" to confirm audio output from the PC through the unit.

macOS
System requirements: macOS 12 or 13
- Move the cursor to "Go" on the computer screen, then click "Utilities".
- Double-click "Audio MIDI Setup".
- In the "Audio Devices" window, secondary-click on "CD 50n" and ensure "Use This Device For Sound Output" is checked. If another device is selected, choose "CD 50n" and then "Use This Device For Sound Output".
- Select the "CD 50n" format. It is recommended to set the format to "2 ch 32-bit Integer 384.0 kHz".
- Quit Audio MIDI Setup.

4 Use your favorite music applications on your PC/Mac
Play audio through the CD 50n using your preferred music applications. For high-resolution audio playback, consider advanced audio player software such as JRiver Media Center or Audirvana.
NOTE: Additional settings may be required within your audio player application to output audio to the CD 50n. Refer to your application's user manual for details.
