Setup and Connection
Initial Connection and Registration
For first-time use, especially with wireless controllers, a USB cable connection is required for registration.
- Connect the converter to your target console:
- For PS2: Connect the converter directly.
- For PS Classic: Connect the converter using the black USB cable from the splitter cable.
- Connect your game controller (PS3/PS4) to the converter using a standard USB cable. The controller will automatically register with the converter.
Port Indicators: Each converter supports one game controller at a time. Wireless PS3/PS4 controllers should connect automatically. If not, re-register the controller using a USB cable.
PC (X-Input) Mode
When connected to a PC, press and hold the [Brook Key] until it flashes five times to switch to X-Input mode.
Power Requirements
If the controller does not function correctly due to insufficient power, connect the micro USB port on the converter to a 5V/1A charger using the gray USB cable from the splitter cable.
Wireless Use
Once registered, you can disconnect the USB cable. Press the [PS Button] to wake the controller for wireless operation. This registration process only needs to be completed once.
Xbox Bluetooth Controller Compatibility Note
Please be aware that Xbox Bluetooth controllers that have undergone a firmware update to version 5.11.3118.0 (changing Bluetooth to BLE) may not be supported wirelessly by some Brook products.
