Know Your Product

The Logitech FabricSkin Keyboard Folio i5 is designed to protect and enhance your iPad experience. It features an integrated keyboard and a protective folio.

Setting Up the Keyboard Folio

Getting Started

1. Open the keyboard folio: Ensure the edge of your iPad is aligned with the iPad holder and push down. (Diagram: The folio is opened, and an iPad is being inserted into the holder, with arrows indicating downward pressure.)

2. Move the keyboard folio into the typing position: (Diagram: The folio is folded into an upright position for typing.)

The keyboard turns on automatically.

Establishing Connection with Your iPad

The keyboard folio connects to your iPad via a Bluetooth connection. The first time you use the keyboard folio, you must pair it with your iPad.

The status light blinks blue ? to indicate that the keyboard is discoverable, ready for pairing with your iPad.

To pair your keyboard folio with your iPad:

On Your iPad:

If your iPad requests a PIN, enter it using the folio keyboard (not on your iPad).

Upon successful connection, the status light will briefly turn solid blue before turning off.

Connecting to Another iPad

  1. Move the keyboard folio into the typing position.
  2. Make sure your iPad's Bluetooth feature is on. Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth > On.
  3. Press the Bluetooth Connect button. (Diagram: A button labeled 'Bluetooth connect' is shown.)

The keyboard is discoverable for 3 minutes.

  1. Select "FabricSkin Keyboard Folio i5" on your iPad's Devices menu.
  2. If your iPad requests a PIN, enter it using the folio keyboard (not on your iPad).

Upon successful connection, the status light will briefly turn solid blue before turning off.

Using the Keyboard Folio

Two Viewing Positions

The keyboard folio provides two viewing positions: one for typing and another for browsing.

To type: Position the iPad holder upright, aligning it with the built-in magnet to secure it. Ensure the keyboard is turned on. (Diagram: iPad in typing position.)

To browse: Place the iPad holder in the browsing position. Remember to switch off the keyboard to conserve battery power. (Diagram: iPad in a more reclined browsing position.)

If the keyboard is not used for a while in the typing position, it automatically enters sleep mode. Press any key to wake it.

Closing the keyboard folio powers off your iPad.

Detaching Your iPad

To detach your iPad from the folio, bend back one of the iPad holder corners. (Diagram: Hand bending a corner of the iPad holder to release the iPad.)

Your iPad is then released. (Diagram: iPad being lifted out of the folio.)

Storing Your iPad for Travel

  1. Insert your iPad in the iPad holder.
  2. Close the keyboard folio. (Diagram: The folio is closed over the iPad.)

Cleaning Your Folio

Wipe your FabricSkin Keyboard folio with a wet cloth. DO NOT use solvent.

Status Light Indicators

Your keyboard folio's status light provides information about the battery power and Bluetooth connection.

LightDescription
Blinking greenThe battery is charging.
Solid greenThe battery is fully charged (100%).
RedBattery power is low (less than 10%). Recharge the battery.
Blinking blue ? (Fast)The keyboard is in discovery mode, ready for pairing.
Blinking blue ? (Slow)The keyboard is trying to reconnect to your iPad.
Solid blueBluetooth pairing or reconnection is successful.

Function Keys

Note: To select a function key, press and hold the Fn key, and then press the key indicated above.

Charging the Keyboard Battery

If the status light is red, the keyboard folio battery needs to be charged.

1. Connect the micro-USB cable: Plug one end of the micro-USB cable into the charging port, and the other end into a USB port on your computer. (Diagram: Micro-USB cable connected to the keyboard's charging port and a computer's USB port.)

Alternatively, you can use a 5V USB charger (e.g., the one provided with your iPad), provided its power output rating is at least 500mA.

The status light blinks green ? as the battery charges.

2. Charge the battery: Continue charging until the status light turns solid green.

Battery Information

Battery Disposal at Product End of Life

1. Pry off the top cover: Use a screwdriver to carefully pry off the top cover of the keyboard. (Diagram: Screwdriver being used to pry open the keyboard cover.)

2. Detach and remove battery: Separate the battery from the circuit board and remove it. (Diagram: Battery being removed from the circuit board.)

3. Dispose responsibly: Dispose of your product and its battery according to local laws. ♻️
