Setting Up the Keyboard Folio

Follow these steps to set up your keyboard folio:

1. Open the keyboard folio and insert your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 into the tablet holder.
2. Push your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 down into the hook to secure it.
3. Move the keyboard folio into the typing position by lifting the back of the protective folio and sliding the hook forwards until it aligns with the magnet.
4. Establish a Bluetooth connection with your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3. Refer to the "Using the Keyboard Plus app" section for details.

Using the Keyboard Plus App

The Keyboard Plus app is used for initial setup, establishing Bluetooth connection, and configuring the keyboard for the best typing experience. It can also be used later for troubleshooting or changing settings.

The app is available on the Google Play™ Store.

To install the Keyboard Plus app:

1. From a Home screen, navigate to Apps ➡️ Play Store.
2. Search for 'Keyboard Plus'.
3. Select and install the app. The app will appear on the Apps screen as 'Keyboard Plus' upon successful installation.

To establish connection with your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3:

1. Launch the Keyboard Plus app. From a Home screen, navigate to Apps ➡️ Keyboard Plus.
2. Touch START to launch the Keyboard Setup Assistant.
3. Ensure Bluetooth is turned on for your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3.

Bluetooth Pairing

Follow the on-screen prompts in the Keyboard Setup Assistant:

1. Turn on the Bluetooth adapter on your tablet.
2. Pair your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 and keyboard folio:
   • Touch NEXT in the setup assistant.
   • Turn on your keyboard and touch NEXT. The status light will blink blue, indicating it's discoverable for 15 minutes. If it doesn't blink, press the Bluetooth connect button.
   • In your tablet's Settings, select "Ultrathin Keyboard Folio S310" from the list of available devices. A PIN will be displayed.
   • Enter the displayed PIN on your keyboard and press Enter.
3. Once connected, the keyboard status light will turn solid blue briefly, then turn off. The folio is now paired.
4. Enable the keyboard folio by following the prompts, which may involve checking a box in the system settings.
5. Set the keyboard folio as the default input method by selecting it in the "Language and input" settings.
6. Set the keyboard language by choosing your preferred language.

The setup process is now complete. Touch START to begin using your keyboard.

Resolving Issues and Changing Settings

If you encounter any issues or wish to change settings, re-launch the Keyboard Plus app. The app opens to the Status page, where you can view connection status, keyboard settings, and language. Issues are indicated by a red cross.

To resolve an issue or change a setting, tap the relevant item and follow the on-screen instructions.

Using the Keyboard Folio

The keyboard folio offers two viewing positions:

• Typing Position: Move the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 holder into the typing position, aligning it with the built-in magnet to secure it.
• Browsing Position: Place the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 holder in the browsing position.

Turn on the keyboard by using the on/off switch. The keyboard enters sleep mode automatically after a period of inactivity in the typing position; press any key to wake it.

To conserve battery power, you can switch off the keyboard when not in use.

If the status light turns red, the keyboard battery needs charging.

Notes:

• To select an Android key, press and hold the ? key, then press the key indicated above.
• Depending on your region, some Android keys may not function.

Charging the Keyboard Battery

If the status light is red, the keyboard battery needs charging.

1. Plug one end of the micro-USB cable into the charging port on the keyboard and the other end into a USB port on your computer.
2. The status light will blink green while charging.
3. Charge until the status light turns solid green.

Battery Information:

• A fully charged battery provides approximately three months of use when the keyboard is used about two hours a day.
• If the status light briefly turns red after turning the keyboard on, charge the battery.
• Turn off the keyboard when not in use to conserve battery power.
• The keyboard enters sleep mode automatically if not used for a while; press any key to wake it.

Battery Disposal at Product End of Life

1. Pry off the top cover of the keyboard with a screwdriver.
2. Detach the battery from the circuit board and remove it.
3. Dispose of your product and its battery according to local laws. ♻️

When You've Finished Using the Keyboard Folio

Detaching Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3:

1. Release your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 from the hook.
2. Slide your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 out of the tab holders. Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 is now released.

Storing Your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 for Travel:

1. Insert your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 into the tablet holder.
2. Close the keyboard folio.

Troubleshooting: The Keyboard Does Not Work

• Press any key to wake the keyboard from sleep mode.
• Turn the keyboard off and then back on.
• Recharge the internal battery. Refer to "Charging the Keyboard Battery."
• Verify that Bluetooth is turned on in your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3's settings (Apps ➡️ Settings ➡️ Wireless and networks ➡️ Bluetooth).
• Verify that "Ultrathin Keyboard Folio S310" is paired with your Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (Apps ➡️ Settings ➡️ Wireless and networks ➡️ Bluetooth).
• Re-establish the Bluetooth connection by selecting "Ultrathin Keyboard Folio S310" in the devices list. The status light will turn solid blue when the connection is established.
