Information for Private Households (WEEE)

The Electrical and Electronic Equipment Act (WEEE) sets requirements for handling electrical and electronic equipment. Key points include:

  1. Separate Collection of Waste Equipment: Old, worn-out, or defective equipment must not be disposed of with normal household or residual waste. It should be transferred to special collection and return systems.
  2. Batteries, Rechargeable Batteries, and Illuminants: Spent batteries, accumulators, and light sources that can be removed without damage must be separated from the main equipment before handing it over to a collection point. Batteries containing harmful substances are marked with a crossed-out bin symbol (?️) and chemical names (e.g., "Cd" for cadmium, "Pb" for lead, "Hg" for mercury). Improper disposal can cause health and environmental hazards; separate collection and proper disposal avert these risks.
  3. Options for Returning Old Appliances: Owners can return old appliances free of charge at public waste management collection points or manufacturer/distributor take-back points.
  4. Data Privacy Notice: Old devices may contain sensitive personal data. End-users are responsible for deleting data from devices before disposal.
  5. Meaning of the "Crossed-out Dustbin" Symbol: This symbol indicates that the device must be collected separately from unsorted municipal waste at the end of its service life.

Cleaning Instructions

⚠️ Danger: Before cleaning, interrupt the circuit by switching off the breaker or removing the fuse.

  • Use a slightly moistened cloth for cleaning.
  • To prevent product damage, avoid water ingress into the housing.
  • Never clean the device under running water.
  • Do not use solvent-containing cleaners.
