About this Product

The Neewer X17 Teleprompter features a high-definition display to present text. A special coated glass, positioned at a 45° angle in front of your camera, reflects the text onto the display. This allows speakers to clearly read the script while maintaining natural eye contact with the camera.

Product Illustration

The teleprompter consists of the following main components:

  • Beam Splitter Mirror Glass: Reflects the text onto the camera lens.
  • Display Holding Tray: Holds the tablet or smartphone displaying the script.
  • Cold Shoe Slots: For attaching accessories.
  • Tray Securing Knob: To secure the display holding tray.
  • Blackout Shade: Surrounds the lens to prevent light leaks.
  • Camera Holding Base: Supports and positions the camera.
  • Beam Splitter Glass Lock: Secures the angle of the beam splitter glass.
  • Quick Release Plate Lock: For securing the quick release plate.
  • Quick Release Plate: Attaches the teleprompter to a tripod or camera.
  • Height Adjustment Knob: Adjusts the height of the camera holding base.
  • Base Locking Knob: Secures the base position.
  • Bubble Level: Helps ensure the teleprompter is level.
  • Camera Base Slot: For mounting the camera.

Remote Control (Model RT-110)

The remote control allows you to manage the teleprompter's display:

  • Status Indicator: Shows the remote's operational status.
  • [Long Press]: Turn the remote on/off.
  • [Short Press]: Play/Pause the script.
  • [Short Press]: Zoom out the text.
  • [Short Press]: Zoom in the text.
  • [Short Press]: Slow down script scrolling (when playing); Page up (when paused).
  • [Short Press]: Speed up script scrolling (when playing); Page down (when paused).

How to Install

Installation Step 1: Mount on a Tripod

Insert the top screw of your tripod into the teleprompter's bottom hole, ensuring a good fit. Tighten the tripod's knob to secure the teleprompter using a drop-and-lock system.

Installation Step 2: Adjust Beam Splitter Angle

Rotate the Beam Splitter Glass Lock counterclockwise to loosen. Adjust the glass to the required angle (45° is recommended). Rotate the lock clockwise to hold the glass in position.

Installation Step 3: Unfold the Blackout Shade

Fully unfold the teleprompter's blackout shade and zip it up on both sides. Ensure the sides are completely sealed all around to prevent light leakage.

Installation Step 4: Quick Release Plate Handling

Remove the Quick Release Plate

Pull out the Quick Release Plate Lock and slide the plate out of the base.

Re-inserting the Quick Release Plate

Align the quick release plate with the slot of the base and slide it in completely.

Installation Step 5: Install Quick Release Plate Screw

After removing the silicone plug from the quick release plate, install the quick release plate screw into the quick release plate slots. Re-insert the silicone plug.

Installation Step 6: Attach Plate to Camera

Insert the quick release plate screw into your camera's bottom screw hole and tighten it.

Installation Step 7: Place Tablet or Cellphone

Loosen the Tray Securing Knob by turning it counterclockwise. Extend the tray to accommodate your tablet or cell phone. Insert your device displaying text onto the tray, push the tray slightly inward to secure the device, and then rotate the Tray Securing Knob clockwise to tighten.

Installation Step 8: Adjust Camera Position

  1. Rotate the Holding Base Lock to loosen. Slide the Camera Holding Base back and forth on the tray to adjust the camera's position. Tighten the Holding Base Lock to secure.
  2. Loosen the Height Adjustment Knob. Move the Camera Holding Base up or down to set the required camera height, then tighten the knob. Ensure the glass, tray, and other teleprompter parts are not visible in the camera's viewfinder.
  3. Once the camera is secure, ensure the lens is fully covered by the blackout shade. Pull on the tether to ensure there is no light leakage.

How to Use

Download and Install the Teleprompter APP

Scan the provided QR codes (for iOS and Android) with your phone or tablet to download and install the dedicated teleprompter application.

Connect Remote to Device

  1. Long press the power button [▶️] on the remote to turn it on. A blue indicator light will flash.
  2. Enable Bluetooth on your phone or tablet. Log in to the teleprompter APP, search for the Bluetooth signal "NEEWER RT110", and select it to connect with the remote.

Control Teleprompter with Remote

  1. Short press the play/pause button [▶️⏸️] to start or pause the script playback.
  2. During playback, short press the "A+"/"A-" buttons to zoom the text in or out. Short press the speed buttons [⬆️]/[⬇️] to slow down or speed up the scrolling.
  3. When paused, short press the page navigation buttons [⬅️]/[➡️] to move the page up or down.

How to Store After Use

After use, fold the teleprompter's blackout shade and gently lower the Beam Splitter Glass as shown in the diagrams. Before folding the glass, ensure the camera tray is returned to its original height to prevent collision with the glass.

Notes

  • The teleprompter contains fragile components and should be handled carefully to avoid accidental drops or physical impact.
  • Do not attempt to dismantle the product yourself. If a defect is found, please contact Neewer Customer Service or authorized maintenance personnel for repair.
