Installation Instructions
The following steps outline the mounting procedure for the GDW tow bar. Ensure all parts are present before starting.
- Loosen the exhaust from its rubber supports and remove the spare wheel. Permanently remove the towing ring and unscrew the bolts from the bumper fixation.
- Place the mounting pieces (i) through the elongated openings in the rear of the chassis beam, into the chassis beams. Position the mounting pieces (g) and (h) against the underside of the chassis beams, aligning point (A) of the mounting pieces with the freed screw-thread holes of the bumper fixation. Insert bolts but do not tighten yet. Insert bolts at point (B) but do not tighten yet.
- Place the tow bar between the mounting pieces, ensuring points (C) and (D) of the mounting pieces align with the tow bar. Insert all bolts and washers and tighten firmly.
- Place mounting piece (j) on top of the tow bar tube and position the ball mount against its underside. Insert bolts through the underside and tighten firmly.
- Refix the exhaust and replace the spare wheel.
Important Notes:
- Remove any bitumen coating or anti-vibration material from the fastening points.
- When drilling, be careful not to damage any brake lines, electrical wiring, or fuel lines.
