Product Overview

The DS18 MRX1 is a marine and powersports headunit designed for robust performance in demanding environments. It offers various features for audio playback and control.

Operation

Turn on/off the unit: Press the on/off button to turn on the unit. Press and hold it for 2 seconds to turn off the unit.

Sound and setting adjustment: Shortly press the VOL knob for the audio menu: BAS, TRE, BAL, FAD, EQ, LOUD. Press and hold the VOL knob for 2 seconds for the setting menu: SUB-V, SW, CLK HH, CLK MM, CT (indep/sync), CLOCK (12/24), BEEP (on/off), P-VOL, AREA, DX/LOC, STEREO/MONO.

EQ (Equalizer) Presets: FLAT, POP, ROCK, CLAS, EQ OFF.

LOUD (on/off): Activates the loudness function.

SUB-V (Subwoofer Volume): Adjusts subwoofer volume from -20 to 0.

SW (Subwoofer Crossover): Selects subwoofer low pass frequency: 80Hz, 120Hz, 160Hz.

Clock Adjustment: Adjust hours (CLK HH) and minutes (CLK MM). The clock can be set to 24-hour or 12-hour format (CLOCK 24/12).

CT (Clock Sync): CT INDEP: The clock operates independently. CT SYNC: The clock synchronizes with the RDS station's time. Note: If set manually, CT reverts to INDEP mode automatically.

BEEP (on/off): Toggles the beep sound on or off.

P-VOL (Preset Volume): Sets the power-on volume. If the volume at shutdown is lower than P-VOL, it maintains the shutdown volume. If it's higher, it reverts to P-VOL.

AREA: Selects the region frequency: USA or EUR.

DX/LOC (Distance/Local): LOC: Receives only strong signal stations. DX: Receives both strong and weak signal stations.

STEREO/MONO: STEREO: Receives FM stereo signals. MONO: Changes FM stereo to mono to reduce noise on weak signals.

Display Clock/Information: Shortly press the CLK button to show the clock or information.

Reset the Unit: Press and hold the Play/Pause button (II) for 5 seconds to reset the unit to factory settings.

MUTE/ON/OFF Operation: In RADIO/AUX, use the button for MUTE. In USB/BT, use the button (II) for Pause/Play.

Radio Operation

Receive a radio station: Press SRC to select RADIO mode. Press BAND to select a band. Use the seek buttons (►►◄◄) to tune to a station. Press and hold the seek buttons for manual tuning.

Manually store station: While a station is playing, press and hold the PRESETS button for 2 seconds. Rotate the VOL knob to select a preset number (P1-P6), then press VOL to save.

Listening to memory station: Shortly press the PRESETS button and rotate the VOL knob to select presets 1-6 for the current band.

Auto store station: Press and hold the BAND button to auto-store stations to presets 1-6 of the current band.

USB Operation

Insert a USB drive. The unit will play MP3/WMA files automatically. If a drive is already inserted, press SRC until USB mode appears.

Select file: Press the seek buttons (►►◄◄) to skip to the next/previous file. Hold them for fast forward/reverse.

Play/Pause: Press the Play/Pause button (II) to pause or play.

DIR+/DIR- function: Shortly press the PRESETS button once to show DIR-SCH. Rotate the VOL knob to select a different directory to play.

Search song: Shortly press PRESETS button twice to show NUM-SCH. Rotate VOL knob to enter numbers, then press VOL to play.

RPT (Repeat) / RDM (Random): For MP3/WMA playback, press and hold PRESETS for 2 seconds. Select RPT ALL, RPT ONE, RPT FOLD, or RDM ON/OFF.

Back to the 1st song: For MP3/WMA playback, press and hold BAND button to play the first song on the USB.

AUX IN Operation

Connect the audio signal to the R/L IN connector. Press SRC to switch to AUX mode.

Bluetooth Operation

Pairing: On your mobile phone, search for Bluetooth devices. Select "DS18-MRX1". If prompted, enter the password "0000". A BT symbol will appear on the LCD screen upon successful pairing.

Bluetooth Audio: Press SRC to switch to BT mode. The unit will play music from your mobile device automatically. Use the Play/Pause (II) and seek buttons (►►◄◄) to control playback.

Disconnect Bluetooth: In AUX/BT source, press and hold the DISP button for 2 seconds to disconnect/reconnect Bluetooth.

Installation

  1. Determine a suitable location and drill the hole.
  2. Secure the stereo using the metal mounting bracket. Shorten the bracket if necessary by removing breakaway segments.
  3. Installation should be performed by a professional technician.
  4. Read all instructions carefully before installation.
  5. Connect all other wires before making the power connection.
  6. Ensure all exposed wires are insulated to avoid short circuits.
  7. Secure all wires after installation.
  8. Follow the wiring diagram for correct connections. Incorrect wiring can cause damage.
  9. This player is designed for 12V DC negative ground electrical systems. Ensure your boat uses this system type.
  10. Connect wires correctly to prevent malfunction or damage.
