Rocky Mountain Toonie Drop Post Owner's Manual
Minimum Insertion
The Toonie Drop post features a minimum insertion line. This line indicates the minimum depth the post must be inserted into the frame to ensure it remains secure. Some frames may require additional insertion depth for optimal security.
Note: The minimum insertion line should not be visible when the post is correctly installed.
Assembly Instructions
Saddle Mounting
Secure the saddle to the post using the provided hardware. Ensure the rear of the bicycle is oriented correctly relative to the front. Torque specifications for saddle mounting are 8 N·m.
Lever Angle Adjustment
Loosen the bolt to adjust the lever's position. For the MTB Toonie Drop Post Remote, the maximum torque for the lever adjustment is 3.5 N·m, and for cable tension adjustment, it is 3 N·m. For the Gravel Toonie Drop Post Remote, the maximum torque for the lever adjustment is 1.5 N·m. This new system offers a two-way remote control.
When routing the remote lever cable, ensure there is sufficient slack in the housing to allow the handlebars to turn completely without restriction. The maximum torque for the remote lever housing is 1.1 N·m, and for the cable end, it is 0.2 N·m.
Cable Installation
Diagram A: Illustrates the cable routing for both the MTB and Gravel Toonie Drop Posts, showing the inner wire and remote lever connection, as well as a 3-angle adjustment feature.
Diagram B: Details the cable end, ferrule, and cable housing, with dimensions for tools (3 mm and 2 mm) and the locking cable end.
Diagram C: Explains how to measure the cable length. Measure 17 mm from the cable cap to the cable end. The mast has a slotted hole for cable routing.
Diagram D: Shows the seat collar installation with a maximum torque of 5 N·m.

Important Information
This owner's manual contains important safety, performance, and service information. Please read it carefully before your first ride on your new Toonie Drop post.
This manual is not intended to be a comprehensive guide for use, service, repair, or maintenance. For service, repairs, or maintenance, please contact Rocky Mountain.
Due to the unpredictable nature of cycling, this guide does not represent all possible situations for safe use. Bicycle use inherently involves risks that cannot be predicted or avoided, and these risks are the sole responsibility of the rider.
- Using an incorrectly sized post can lead to slippage, failure, serious personal injury, or death. Ensure the post is the correct size for your seat tube before installation.
- Seat collar torque requirements vary by frame and seat collar. Exceeding the maximum torque can damage the post and/or frame, impede the return action, and lead to loss of control, serious injury, or death.
- The Toonie Drop post has a minimum insertion line. Ensure the post is inserted to this line or deeper if required by your frame for secure installation.
- Verify that the cable housing is not kinked and does not interfere with bicycle components, clothing, or handlebar movement.
Note
The post may require a firm downward push to activate the telescopic mechanism for the first use or after a prolonged period of disuse. This breakaway force will decrease or disappear with regular use.
If the breakaway friction is excessive or does not decrease with use, the post may require cleaning and lubrication.
Troubleshooting
If the breakaway friction is excessive or does not decrease with use, the post may need to be cleaned and lubricated.
