Quick Start
1. Download and Install the App
The smart battery camera supports both battery-powered and AC-powered supply. The wireless smart battery camera is compatible with Android and iOS apps. For the best experience, download and install the app by scanning the provided QR code or visiting https://www.vicohome.io/download/. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete user registration.
2. Add the Device
Sign in to the app, connect to Wi-Fi, and add the device by following the prompts. It is recommended to bring the device close to the router during configuration.
Set Up the Camera
1. Connect to Wi-Fi
In the app, click "Add Camera Now" and enter your Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and password. The camera supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi for better wall penetration and does not support enterprise-level Wi-Fi authentication. Ensure your Wi-Fi meets these requirements.
2. Generate QR Code for Pairing
Click "Continue" to generate a QR code for pairing the camera.
3. Power On the Camera
Press and hold the power button for 3 seconds to turn on the camera. It will emit a "Ding Dong Ding Dong" sound. If no sound is heard, double-click the power button.
4. Pair the Camera
Hold the camera lens approximately 20 cm (7 inches) away from the QR code displayed on your phone until you hear a "Ding" sound.
5. Complete Pairing
After a successful connection, the camera will emit a prompt sound. In the app, set a name for the device and select its location. Click "Continue" to finalize the pairing.
Troubleshooting Binding Issues
- Wi-Fi Password Error: Verify the Wi-Fi password entered in the app.
- Authentication Error: Ensure your Wi-Fi is not enterprise-level and uses security below WPA-2.
- Wi-Fi Not Found: Check the Wi-Fi name, ensure the router is on, and place the device near the router. 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.
- Retrieving IP Timeout: Too many devices connected to the router. Remove unused devices or restart the router. Contact your router administrator if necessary.
- Cloud Service Connection Fail: Verify your router's connection to the external network. If the router is a local area network server, ensure the network connection is normal and temporarily disable the firewall.
Install the Camera
The camera can be placed on a shelf or mounted on a wall.
1. Select a Good Spot
Install the camera in a location with an unobstructed view, within Wi-Fi coverage. The PIR [Passive Infrared] sensor is more sensitive to movements across its field of view than direct approach/recession.
For outdoor use, install the camera upside down to enhance waterproof performance and PIR sensor effectiveness.
Recommended installation height is approximately 6 ft.
2. Install the Bracket
Screw Fixing:
Attach the bracket to the wall or ceiling using screws and appropriate wall plugs. The camera can then be mounted directly onto a flat surface or attached to the bracket.
Fix the Camera:
Mount the camera onto the bracket using screws. If installing outdoors, ensure the camera is mounted upside down.
Share the Camera
Allow family members or friends to view the camera. Only the admin user can manage settings; shared users have limited access.
1. Steps for Admin User
On the App Homepage, find the camera to share, tap the "Share" button (or tap the "Camera Setting" icon then "Share").
Tap "Camera sharing" to generate a QR code for sharing.
2. Steps for Shared User
On the Homepage, find "Add friend's camera" to enter the scan code page. Scan the QR code generated on the admin's phone and send an access request.
3. Admin User Approval
The admin user will receive a guest request and can accept or reject it.
Charge the Camera
The app will notify you when the battery is low. Use the Micro USB cable and a 5V/1.5A adapter to charge the camera. During charging, the indicator light is solid yellow. It turns solid green when fully charged. Full charging takes approximately 15 hours.
