About the White's CoinMaster Metal Detector

This document provides instructions for assembling, operating, and maintaining your White's CoinMaster metal detector. It also details the product's warranty.

The White's CoinMaster metal detector features a circular search coil connected to an adjustable shaft with an elbow support. The control box is mounted on the shaft and includes a display screen and various control buttons.

Assembly Instructions

  1. Remove all parts from the shipping carton.
  2. Use nonmetallic washers between the round search coil and the clevis fiber rod. Secure the search coil to the fiber rod using the provided fiber bolt and thumbnut.
  3. Insert the fiber rod into the curved rod, aligning the buttons with one of the adjustment holes.
  4. Unravel the search coil cable and wind it around the rods, with the first revolution over the top of the rod. Plug the search coil cable into the control box and screw it "finger-tight" to secure.
  5. Grip the handle with your arm in the elbow cup and sweep the search coil over the ground. For comfort, adjust the buttons and reposition the fiber rod if necessary. The elbow cup is also adjustable for comfort.

Searching Instructions

  1. Open the battery door by pressing the elongated button on the back of the display and flipping open the door. Install two nine-volt alkaline batteries (they only fit one way). Close the door.
  2. Press the ON/OFF button. Sweep the search coil over the ground evenly, keeping it close to the ground throughout each sweep and overlapping each pass as if mopping a floor.
  3. Solid, repeatable beeps and a repeatable display indicate a "hit". Press the P/P button and look for an "X" on the display to pinpoint the exact location to dig. Press P/P again to continue searching.
  4. Broken or inconsistent beeps and display readings indicate undesirable signals (e.g., unwanted metals).

Display Indications

The display provides information about detected targets and the detector's status:

Controls

  1. ON/OFF: Turns the power ON and OFF. A Low Battery indication is automatically shown on the display. Remove batteries for storage exceeding two weeks.
  2. SENS (Sensitivity): Adjusts the responsiveness to metals, ground conditions, and external electrical interference. The level is shown on the display. Use the highest level that behaves predictably; lower levels are recommended for unstable areas that may give false signals without metal present.
  3. P/P (Pinpoint): Activates pinpoint mode for better item location. Press a second time to resume searching.
  4. DISC (Discrimination): Selects the acceptance or rejection (indicated by audio beep) of each category on the display, ranging from IRON to C1 (zinc cent). For finding more jewelry (excluding iron), accept as many categories as you can.
  5. The depth of coin-sized metal is automatically indicated on the lower left-hand portion of the display.
