Installation Clearances
The following diagram and notes illustrate recommended spacing for installation in a recessed area or closet.
Diagram Description: The diagram shows a top-load washer within a confined space, indicating required clearances. Key dimensions include:
- Maximum height clearance: 14" (356 mm)
- Side clearance: 1" (25 mm) on each side
- Front clearance: 20" (508 mm)
- Rear clearance: 3" (76 mm)
- Ventilation openings in closet doors: 48 in² (310 cm²) total, with specific placement indicated.
Note: All washers should have 20" (508 mm) of clearance. The dimensions shown are recommended minimums, except for closet door ventilation openings. This washer has been tested for installation with 0" (0 mm) clearance on the sides. Additional space may be beneficial for easier installation, servicing, and for accommodating adjacent appliances or architectural features. Adding 1" (25 mm) on all sides can help reduce noise transfer. If a closet or louvered door is used, top and bottom air openings are required.
