Confirm that your projector box includes these parts:
Connect the Projector
Choose one of the following connections. Refer to the following sections or the online User's Guide for details.

HDMI Port
Connect one end of an HDMI cable to the projector's HDMI port and the other end to a computer's HDMI port.
Computer Port
Connect one end of a VGA cable to one of the projector's Computer ports and the other end to your computer's monitor port. If you are using a laptop, configure it to display images on an external display (refer to the “Troubleshooting” section). You can also connect an audio cable.
USB Port
Connect the square end of a USB cable to the projector's USB-B (square) port. Connect the flat end of the cable to any USB port on your computer.
Windows® 7 or later: After turning on the projector, follow the on-screen instructions to install the Epson® USB Display software (EMP_UDSE.EXE; only required when connecting the projector for the first time). If the software screen does not appear automatically, open My Computer, Computer, or This PC, then double-click EPSON_PJ_UD.
OS X 10.8.x or later: After turning on the projector, the USB Display software setup folder appears in the Finder. Double-click USB Display Installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the Epson USB Display software (only required when connecting the projector for the first time). If the software screen does not appear automatically, double-click EPSON_PJ_UD, then double-click USB Display Installer.
Video Device
Connect various video devices and use the Source Search button on the projector or remote control to switch between them.

Using the Remote Control
Install the two AA batteries as shown below.
[Select Image Source] Choose the image source you want to project
[Power Button] Turns the projector on and off
[Menu Button] Opens the projector menus
[A/V Mute Button] Turns off the projector image
[Home Screen Button] Opens the projector's home screen
[Navigation Buttons] Navigate through the projector menus

Turning On Your Equipment
- Connect the projector. The projector's power indicator lights up blue.
- Fully open the A/V Mute sliding cover.
- Press the power button on the projector or remote control. The Status indicator flashes blue, then stays lit.
Note: To turn off the projector, press the power button twice. - When the home screen appears, use the arrow buttons on the projector or remote control to switch between projection sources and quickly access various options.
- The default menu system language is English. To select another language, press the Menu button on the projector or remote control. Select Extended, select Language, then select your language. Press the Menu button to exit the menu system.
- Turn on your computer or video source.
Adjusting the Image
- If you do not see an image, press the Source Search button on the projector or remote control to select the image source.
Note: If you still see a blank screen or have other display issues, refer to the “Troubleshooting” section. - To raise the image, press the locking mechanism and lift the front of the projector. Release the mechanism to lock the projector in the desired position.
- To reduce or enlarge the image size, press the E-Zoom buttons on the remote control.
- To make the image sharper, turn the focus ring.
- If the image looks like this ? or this ?, the projector is not centered with respect to the screen and is tilted. Position the projector directly in front of the center of the screen; it should be perpendicular to the screen. If you cannot move the projector, use the horizontal keystone correction slider to correct the image shape.
- If the image looks like this ? or this ?, use the projector's [Up Arrow] or [Down Arrow] button to correct it.
Troubleshooting
- If you see a blank screen, do the following:
- Confirm that the A/V Mute sliding cover is open.
- Check that the projector's Status indicator is lit blue and not flashing.
- Press the power button or the A/V Mute button on the remote control to wake the projector from standby or sleep mode, if necessary.
- If you see a blank screen when the projector is connected to a computer, do the following:
- In Windows, hold down the Windows key and press P at the same time, then click Duplicate.
- If you are using a Mac laptop with macOS 13 or later, select System Settings > Displays. Select the projector, then choose the option to mirror your display from the Use As dropdown menu.
- In macOS 12, select System Preferences > Displays > Display Settings. Select the projector, then choose the option to mirror your display from the dropdown menu.
- In macOS 11 and earlier, open the System Preferences menu and select Displays. Click the Arrangement tab and select the Duplicate displays checkbox.
- If the projector does not respond to remote control commands, check that the remote control batteries are installed correctly. Replace them if necessary.
