5 Configure APN, GPRS User Name and Password
The device usually identifies APN and GPRS credentials automatically. If network connection fails, follow these steps. The device supports 2G and NB-IoT dual networks. Configuration methods vary by network type.
5.1 Configure APN by SMS command (2G network)
APN (Access Point Name) varies by mobile network. Contact your carrier for local APN details.
SMS command: APN+password+space+local APN
Tracker response: APN OK
Example: APN123456 CMNET
Note: 123456 is the default password. It can be changed using the SMS command: password+old password+space+new password
.
5.2 Configure GPRS login user name and password by SMS command (2G network)
User name and password are often not required. If your local network needs them:
SMS command: up+password+space+user+space+password
Tracker response: user, password ok!
Example: up123456 Jonnes 666666
Note: 123456 is the device password, Jonnes is the GPRS user name, and 666666 is the GPRS password. Configure with your local carrier's details.
5.3 Configure APN with USB (NB-IoT / 2G network)
For IoT cards or when SMS configuration is not supported, modify the configuration file via USB. Connect the device to a computer using the data cable. Locate and edit the user_config.ini
file, entering the old password, the APN, user name, and new password (if changing). Save the file and restart the device.
