2 Hardware Description

The device features a GPS/POWER/GSM status light indicator. The physical appearance of the GPS Tracker is a compact, rectangular device with a black and grey casing. It has a prominent 'GPS TRACKER' logo on the front. Below the logo, there are several colored wires extending from the bottom, typically used for connection.

3 Terminal Installation

  1. Please ask a qualified engineer to install it.
  2. The installation environment should ensure that the GSM and GPS signals are good.
  3. Please do not install it in a dusty and humid environment.
  4. Find the 12PIN wiring harness provided with the product, insert it into the corresponding wiring hole of the product, and connect to the original car circuit. The wiring diagram shows connections for:
    • Black wire: Negative power (-)
    • Violet wire: SOS button
    • Green wire: Positive (+) Door trigger
    • Red wire: Positive (+) Power
    • Blue wire: Negative (-) Door trigger
    • White wire: (+) Car power
    • Orange wire: ACC
    • Pink wire: Alarm siren
    • Brown wire: To engine side
    • White with black wire: To pump side
    • Yellow wire: Fuel sensor (0-5v), Oil and power cut
    The diagram also illustrates connections to the car engine & oil line and fuel pump.
  5. The pink wire can be connected to the original car alarm horn or an alarm horn purchased separately.
  6. Understand that the vehicle door trigger type is either positive or negative trigger. Connect to the green wire for a positive trigger and to the blue wire for a negative trigger.
  7. Please install the SOS button where the driver can easily touch it.
  8. SIM Card Installation: Use the included screwdriver to open the case and insert the SIM card. If you intend to expand storage space, insert a micro SD card and then assemble the case. Ensure the SIM card's network frequency band is supported by the device. Caller ID must be turned on, and the PIN code must be turned off. Call forwarding function cannot be turned on.
  9. After inserting the SIM card, connect the positive (red) and negative (black) wires of the power supply to the car's 12V or 24V power supply. Wait for the device to work normally after 1 minute of power-on, then turn on the backup battery switch.

5 This GPS Tracker Supports Mobile APP, Web Server Platform and SMS for Management in Multiple Ways

If you use the APP and web platform, you need a SIM card with a data plan or a data card. If you use SMS, you need a SIM card that enables SMS, voice calls, and caller ID.

6 Mobile APP

To download the BAANOOL IOT app, scan the provided QR codes or search for "BAANOOL IOT" on Google Play or the App Store. After downloading, open BAANOOL IOT, register a new account, and log in. Choose "BAANOOL car" to enter the application.

Bind Device: On the home page, click the 'Add Device' button and scan the IMEI number to bind a new device. The IMEI number is attached to the side of the device and can also be manually entered for binding.

Using Tracker: Under normal circumstances, the device automatically selects the APN, username, and password. If the device is still offline after 3 minutes of binding, you may need to manually set the APN, username, and password as per sections 10.17 and 10.18. Once the device is online, you can view and manage it.

7 BAANOOL IOT's Web Version

Access the web version at www.baanooliot.com. The login account name and password are the same as those used for the mobile app.

8 Mobile APP and BAANOOL IOT's Web

8.1 Positioning Strategy

You can select the working mode and positioning strategy by clicking the positioning button. When stationary, you can set a longer interval for reporting location information (e.g., 1 hour). When moving, you can set a shorter interval for more frequent reporting (e.g., 10 seconds). The movement trajectory will be displayed when the tracker moves.

8.1.1 Working Mode

Real time onlineThe device is online in real time and reports its location according to the set motion/stationary intervals.
Smart modeThe device is online in real time by default and reports its location at intervals of 10 seconds of movement and 1 hour of inactivity. Offline when stationary (phone calls, text messages, and alarms can trigger the device to go online. After SOS, door opening alarms, and ACC alarms are triggered, the device will be online in real time until the alarm is lifted). Wake up and go online when in motion. Regardless of whether it is stationary or moving, the device will report at the set interval.

8.1.2 Positioning Interval

This section describes how to set the interval for reporting location data. The device can be configured to report at specific intervals when moving or stationary.

8.2 Playback

You can click the playback button to view the historical track record of the device.

8.3 Remote Immobilizing

Features include delayed immobilizing, immediate immobilizing, and resuming fuel and power supply.

8.4 Arm/Disarming

The device supports arming, silent arming, and disarming functions.

Listen for 15 seconds per request.

8.8 Other Function Settings

Users can control the device to stop alarming, check SIM card balance, reset the device, restore factory settings, set shock sensitivity, authorization numbers, alarm times, time zone, external power on/off, oil volume zero/full adjustment, smart angle updating settings, tracker password, and check device details, operation records, and installation information.

9 Remote Controller (For G model)

To stop car locate, press the disarm key.

10 SMS Functions

GPRS and SMS work simultaneously by default. If you prefer to manage the device using only SMS, it is recommended to turn off GPRS (refer to command 10.21) to save power and traffic.

Attention: The manual uses "+" to mean words should be written together as one word, and "space" to mean a single character space between words.

10.1 Changing Password

Command: password+old password+space+new password
Response: password ok
The default password is 123456 and must be changed upon first use.

10.2 Authorization

Command: admin+password+space+mobile phone number
Response: admin ok
Cancel: noadmin+password+space+authorization number
Response: noadmin ok
Calling the tracker 10 times in succession automatically authorizes the number as the first master, with the response "add master ok". Up to 5 numbers can be set and authorized; only authorized numbers can receive alarm messages.

10.3 Single Tracking

Command: position+password
The tracker replies with location information, and a link is provided to view the device location on a map. Alternatively, calling the tracker will cause it to hang up and reply with a positioning message. If no authorized numbers are set, it replies to all calls with a location report. If authorized numbers are set, it will not respond to calls from unauthorized numbers.

10.4 Positioning Strategy

10.4.1 Working Mode

Command: fix+020s+002h+005n+password. The tracker reports at 20-second intervals when moving and 2-hour intervals when stopped. '005n' limits positioning to 5 times, while '***n' means unlimited times.

The number of times SOS, power disconnection, oil, door, and ACC alarms are sent can be configured. Command: xtime+password+times value. Default is one time.

10.10 Listen

The default mode is "Track". To switch to Listen mode, dial the device and use command: listen+password. To restore to Track mode, dial the device and use command: tracker+password.

10.11 ACC ON/OFF Alert

This function is OFF by default. When the tracker detects an "ignition on" signal from the ACC wire (white wire), it sends "ACC on+latitude&longitude" to the authorized number. When it detects an "ignition off" signal, it sends "ACC off+ latitude & longitude". Turn on: ACC+password. Turn off: noACC+password.

10.12 SIM Card Balance Enquiry

Way 1: Command: balance+password+space+operator number+space+code. The device forwards the received text message from the operator to the sender.

Way 2: Command: forward+password+space+operator number. The tracker forwards the operator's top-up reminder message to the authorized number.

10.13 Check Status

Command: check+password. Response includes Battery, GPS signal, GSM signal, GPRS status, APN, UP, IP, Port, etc.

10.14 IMEI Inquiry

Command: imei+password. Response: The IMEI of your device.

10.15 Time Zone Setting

The device synchronizes the local time zone automatically. If the time is incorrect, set it using: Command: time+space+zone password+space+time zone. Reply: time ok.

10.16 Reset Hardware

Command: reset+password. Response: reset ok. All settings revert to default factory settings.

10.17 APN Setting

Command: apn+password+space+local apn. Response: apn ok. Settings are required only when using the APP and web version.

10.18 Configure User Name and Password of GPRS Network

Command: up+password+space+user+space+Password. Response: up ok. Settings are required only when using the APP and web version.

10.19 Configure Server IP/DNS and Port

Command: adminip+password+space+IP/DNS+space+port. Response: adminip ok. No setup is required to use the BAANOOL IOT server.

10.20 TCP/UDP Switch

Command: tcp+password. Response: tcp ok.

Command: udp+password. Response: udp ok. No setup is required to use the BAANOOL IOT server.

10.21 SMS Mode

Command: SMS+password. Response: sms ok. The device defaults to GPRS mode. To use SMS management, this command switches to SMS mode and closes GPRS.

10.22 GPRS Mode

Command: gprs+password. Response: gprs ok.

10.23 Initialization

Command: begin+password. Response: begin ok. All command settings will return to default factory settings.

12 Cautions

Please be sure to follow these guidelines when using the device:

  1. Keep the tracker in a dry environment. Humid environments can damage internal circuits.
  2. Do not place the tracker in a dusty environment.
  3. Avoid placing the tracker in overheated or overcooled locations.
  4. Handle carefully; do not vibrate or shake it violently.
  5. Clean with a dry cloth only; do not use chemicals or detergents.
  6. Do not disassemble the device, as this may lead to internal circuit failure.
  7. Read the user manual carefully before installation and operation, and understand the voltage range. Failure to do so may result in improper operation or damage to the tracker.

13 Troubleshooting

FaultsSolution
Fail to turn onPlease check if the power wiring is correct.
No GSM signalCheck if the SIM card is inserted correctly. Ensure it is a GSM network SIM card. Do not enable the PIN code, and call forwarding must be disabled.
No GPS signalThe device needs to be in an unobstructed position to ensure it can receive GPS signals normally.
No response for SMS commandThe password is incorrect, or the SMS command format is incorrect.
No response for a call/No alarm notification messageThe authorization number is incorrect, or no authorization number has been set.
Fail to stop enginePlease check if the engine stop wiring is connected correctly.
Remote control cannot be usedTurn off the tracker, then turn it on again to program the remote control.
