Product Overview
This document provides comprehensive installation, operation, and maintenance instructions for the GROHE Shower System with Thermostat. It includes safety information, technical data, and care instructions.
Key Features:
- Thermostatic control for precise temperature regulation.
- Safety stop at 38°C to prevent scalding.
- SpeedClean nozzles for easy limescale removal and a 5-year guarantee.
- Durable construction with high-quality materials.
Safety Information
Protection against scalding: It is recommended to use thermostatic devices that can limit the water temperature to 43°C (109°F) in sensitive areas like hospitals, schools, and nursing homes. For nurseries and specific care areas, a limit of 38°C (100°F) is generally advised. Use Grohtherm Special thermostats with special handles for thermal disinfection and safety end stops. Always observe relevant standards (e.g., EN 806-2) and technical regulations for drinking water.
Frost Prevention: When draining the domestic water system, thermostats must be drained separately due to non-return valves in the hot and cold water connections. Remove the thermostat from the wall for this purpose.
General Safety: Check all parts, clean, replace if necessary, and lubricate with special valve grease. Shut off hot and cold water supply before maintenance.
Installation
Connection: Ensure correct connection, typically hot on the right and cold on the left. Replace the thermostatic compact cartridge if necessary (Part No.: 47 175 (1/2")).
Shower Rail Mounting: When installing on plasterboard or non-solid walls, ensure adequate reinforcement is in place for sufficient strength.
Temperature Adjustment: The safety stop limits the temperature to 38°C (100°F). This limit can be overridden by pressing the button (see page 6).
Temperature End Stop: If the end stop needs to be set at 43°C (109°F), insert the provided temperature limiter into the temperature selection handle.
Operation
The thermostat mixer is designed for hot water supply via pressurized storage heaters, providing accurate temperature control. It is also suitable for electric or gas instantaneous heaters with sufficient power output (from 18 kW or 250 kcal/min). Thermostats are not compatible with non-pressurized storage heaters.
Factory settings are at a 3-bar flow pressure on both sides. Adjustments may be necessary based on local installation conditions.
Maintenance
Regularly inspect and clean all parts. Replace any worn components and lubricate with special valve grease. Always shut off the hot and cold water supply before performing maintenance.
After any maintenance on the thermostatic compact cartridge, readjustment is required.
Showers: SpeedClean nozzles are guaranteed for five years. Regular cleaning of these nozzles allows for easy removal of limescale deposits by simply rubbing with fingers.
Care
Refer to the accompanying Care Instructions for detailed care guidelines.
Technical Data
- Safety Stop: Hot water temperature at supply connection min. 2°C higher than mixed water temperature.
- Thermal Disinfection: Possible.
- Minimum Flow Rate: 5 l/min.
- Static Pressure: If static pressure exceeds 5 bar, a pressure reducing valve must be fitted.
