Logitech and iPad: Creating Creative, Focused, and Confident Classrooms
Sponsored content highlighting the successful implementation of Logitech and iPad solutions in Coppell Independent School District.
Overview
Coppell Independent School District (ISD) in Texas is a distinguished public school system known for its excellent education. The district serves 13,000 students, with each elementary and middle school student having their own iPad. In early 2025, Coppell teachers Chandana Mohite and Kristi Howard from Richard J. Lee Elementary, an Apple Distinguished School, piloted Logitech tools to enhance iPad-based learning for their second and third graders, many of whom are English Language Learners.
Students used Logitech Zone Learn headsets, Rugged Combo keyboard cases, and digital Crayon pens daily for various learning activities, from independent lessons in DreamBox and Khan Academy to creative projects in Canva, an online graphic design platform.
After four weeks of using Logitech's solutions, teachers and students were surveyed on their experiences regarding ease of use, enjoyment, student focus, and confidence.

The Challenge
As teachers at an Apple Distinguished School, Mohite and Howard consistently strive to improve how technology can break down barriers, inspire new ways of learning, and foster creative expression. Like many schools, their classrooms have students with diverse learning needs within a typical, busy classroom environment. They encountered three main challenges:
- Lack of Confidence Among English Language Learners and New Students: New students, especially English Language Learners, often felt uncomfortable with iPad devices and were more hesitant to participate or share ideas.
- Age-Appropriate Tools: Edtech has the potential to increase student engagement and creative expression. However, when technology is not specifically designed for young learners and the demanding needs of the classroom, it can lead to student frustration and learning disruptions.
- Focus on Task and Managing Noise: Classrooms can be noisy environments, particularly in lower grades where students are distracted by peer chatter, classroom equipment sounds, and other external noises. Many students struggle to concentrate on tasks like writing or reading in a group setting.
Kristi Howard, a third-grade teacher, noted, "With Logitech's tools, students became more willing to try new things and be more creative with what they do on their iPad."
The Solution
Teachers introduced a trio of Logitech tools designed to simplify, support, and strengthen student learning on the iPad.
Zone Learn Headsets
Zone Learn headsets are designed for extended learning and feature soft, comfortable earcups and adjustable headbands for an optimal fit, especially for smaller heads. They have speaker elements optimized for voice clarity rather than music, making them perfect for educational activities like reading, testing, and language learning apps. The Zone Learn headsets offer interchangeable and upgradeable over-ear and on-ear earcups, along with three different connectivity options (3.5mm AUX cables, USB-A, and USB-C cables) that can be seamlessly integrated into any school's tech ecosystem, providing longer classroom life.
Rugged Combo 4 Touch
Keyboard cases and accessories for the iPad allow students to interact and learn in new ways while protecting their devices. Connecting a keyboard to an iPad makes it easier for students to write, interact with apps, and take notes. The Rugged Combo 4 Touch enables students to engage with content holistically through four usage modes: typing, sketching, reading, and viewing. A Multi-Touch trackpad allows them to swipe, pinch, and double-tap through all tasks. It is also ready for the playground with military-grade protection, non-slip keys, and a full-sized, sealed keyboard.
Logitech Crayon
As younger students continue to develop their motor skills, writing tools that are easy to use and have an intuitive grip are essential for proper hand placement on the screen. Logitech Crayon is a versatile, pixel-precise digital pen for iPad that students can use for writing, drawing, taking notes, and expressing their creativity. It is built with Apple Pencil technology, making it compatible with countless learning apps. It requires no pairing, making it easy to share in the classroom. Students and teachers can simply pick it up, turn it on, and go. With a kid-friendly design, Crayon empowers students to learn in the way that best suits them.
Results
Surveys of students and teachers from the pilot project clearly showed the benefits: using Logitech tools with iPad devices was advantageous for both students and teachers.
Improved Focus
Logitech's Zone Learn headsets significantly reduced classroom noise and distractions and were easy for students to use independently. "The headsets help students focus on their individual tasks and minimize distractions," said Chandana Mohite. "The sound dampening is incredible," added Kristi Howard. Students experienced similar benefits: 92% reported better focus on schoolwork with the Zone Learn headsets (compared to previous alternatives). One student commented, "It feels calm."
Comfort and Confidence
New research from EdWeek highlights the importance of ergonomics in learning: 74% of teachers indicated that students' physical comfort levels impact their engagement with studies when using educational technology. Logitech's tools helped students transition to digital projects confidently and securely. The built-in stand on the Rugged Combo improved posture and made writing easier. 93% of students stated that the Rugged Combo made the iPad easier to hold and use, and 85% found it easier to write. Howard also noted that the keyboard's softness and quietness were significant improvements over previous options. "They like that it's quiet and you don't hear everyone hammering on the keyboards," Howard said. She also appreciates the durability. "I'm not as stressed if they drop their iPad."
Creativity and Precision
Both teachers observed that project-based learning, where students created timelines in Canva, presentations in Keynote, and more, was enhanced. "With Logitech Crayon, students could easily annotate and mark important events and make connections [...] with precision and creativity," said Chandana Mohite. Students immediately noticed how natural it felt to hold and use the Logitech Crayon. 90% of students reported that the Logitech Crayon made it easier to write and draw.
A third-grade student shared, "Now that I have these three Logitech products, it's easier for me to set up my iPad, I can use a keyboard, I can focus better, and I can draw better!" The durable design and simple charging of the Crayon also made it ideal for classroom use. As digital classrooms become more prevalent, purpose-built tools like these are vital for student success. Teachers noted smoother technology learning curves, more independent students, and increased equity for English Language Learners and beginners using iPads. "Logitech's tools were very helpful. They made students feel confident using the iPad and increased their confidence in learning," said Howard. Dwight Goodwin, Executive Director of Technology at Coppell ISD, added, "It's also nice to work with a brand that offers multiple solutions that work seamlessly."
Student Survey Results (n=40):
- 95% of students felt better about their schoolwork with Logitech tools.
- 92% of students felt more confident using the iPad with Logitech tools.
- 92% of students said Logitech tools made using the iPad more comfortable.
