Important Information
Please read this section carefully before using your watch.
Battery
The battery installed at the factory may be discharged during storage and in the store. If you notice the first signs of battery depletion (dim indicator), replace the battery at your CASIO dealer or distributor.
Water Resistance
Watches are marked from "I" to "V" according to their water resistance class. To understand the correct usage conditions, check your watch's class in the table below.
Class | Construction | Splash | Swimming/Rain | Washing Machine | Underwater Swimming | Diving & Other |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
I | No | No | No | No | No | |
II | Water-resistant | Yes | No | No | No | |
III | Water-resistant up to 50m | Yes | Yes | No | No | |
IV | Water-resistant up to 100m | Yes | Yes | Yes | No | |
V | Water-resistant up to 200m | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes | |
Water-resistant up to 300m | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
*Notes:
- Class I watches are not water-resistant; avoid getting them wet.
- Do not press buttons underwater.
- Buttons can be pressed underwater, but do not press recessed buttons. If the watch comes into contact with seawater, rinse it thoroughly with fresh water and dry it.
- Class V can be used for diving (except for depths requiring a helium-oxygen gas mixture).
Some water-resistant watches come with leather straps. Do not wear such models while swimming or in any other situation involving submersion of the strap in water.
Precautions for Watch Operation
- Do not attempt to open the case or remove the back cover.
- The gasket for water and dust protection should be replaced every 2-3 years.
- If water or condensation gets into the watch, immediately take it for repair to your CASIO dealer or distributor.
- Do not expose the watch to excessively high temperatures.
- Although the watch has a shock-resistant mechanism, avoid strong shocks or dropping it on hard surfaces.
- Do not overtighten the strap. A finger should fit under the strap.
General Description of Operating Modes
Press the [C button] to cycle through the modes in the following sequence: Current Time → Day Count → Memo → Timer → Alarm/Sound → Current Time.
Pressing the [L button] in any mode illuminates the screen for three seconds. If no buttons are pressed for a few minutes while a digital value is flashing, the watch automatically memorizes what you have entered and exits the setting mode. If no operation is performed in the Day Count or Memo modes, the watch automatically returns to the current time display. Note that when setting digital values (except for the Timer), you can only scroll forward. Therefore, if you miss a desired digit, you will have to scroll through all possible values again.
For cleaning the watch and bracelet, use a soft, dry cloth or one dampened with a mild soap solution. Do not use volatile chemical solvents (such as gasoline, solvents, cleaning aerosols, etc.). Always store the watch in a dry place when not in use. Do not expose the watch to aggressive chemical reagents like gasoline, cleaning agents, or aerosols. Chemical reactions with such agents can damage gaskets, the case, and the finish. Some bracelets have their specifications printed on them. Exercise caution when cleaning such bracelets to avoid erasing the markings. For watches with plastic bracelets, a white powdery residue may appear. This substance is harmless and can be wiped off with a cloth. If a plastic bracelet or watch is left in a humid environment, it may warp, crack, or tear. To preserve plastic bracelets, wipe off dirt or moisture promptly with a soft cloth. For watches with fluorescent bracelets and cases, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may cause the fluorescent color to fade. Prolonged contact with moisture can also cause the fluorescent color to fade; wipe off moisture promptly. Prolonged contact with other wet surfaces can also cause fluorescent colors to fade; wipe off moisture from fluorescent surfaces and avoid further contact. Strong rubbing of surfaces with fluorescent prints against other surfaces may transfer the printed color. CASIO COMPUTER CO., LTD. is not liable for any damage that may occur from the use of this watch and does not accept claims from third parties.
Current Time Mode
Press the [B button] to switch between the day of the week and month displays.
To switch between 12-hour and 24-hour time formats, press the [D button].
- In the 12-hour format, the 'P' indicator appears to the left of the hour value from noon to 11:59 PM. The 'A' indicator appears from midnight to 11:59 AM.
- In the 24-hour format, time is displayed from 0:00 to 23:59 without indicators.
Setting Time and Date
- In Current Time Mode, press and hold the [A button] until the seconds digits start flashing, indicating they are selected for setting.
- Press the [C button] to cycle the flashing value through the following settings: Seconds → Daylight Saving Time On/Off → Minutes → Hours → Day → Month → Year.
- When the seconds digits are flashing, press the [D button] to reset them to 00.
- If you press the [D button] when the seconds are between 30 and 59, 1 minute will be added to the minutes value. If seconds are between 00 and 29, the minutes value remains unchanged.
- When the "Daylight Saving Time On/Off" setting is selected, press the [D button] to switch between Daylight Saving Time and Standard Time.
- While the hours, minutes, year, month, or day are flashing, press the [D button] to increase the value. Holding down the [D button] increases the value at a faster rate.
- After setting all values, press the [A button] to return to the current time display.
The day of the week is set automatically according to the date. The date can be set from January 1, 2000, to December 31, 2039. The watch has a built-in auto-calendar that accounts for month lengths and leap years. Once the date and time are set, you may not need to adjust them again, except when replacing the battery. During summer, clocks are advanced by one hour to take better advantage of daylight. Setting or canceling Daylight Saving Time depends on the country.
Backlight
Pressing the [L button] illuminates the screen for three seconds. The backlight uses an electro-luminescent light source which may lose its luminescence over time with prolonged use. Frequent use of the backlight shortens battery life. The backlight is difficult to see in direct sunlight. Sound signals are automatically turned off while the backlight is on. A sound may be heard when the screen is illuminated; this is due to the electro-luminescent source vibrating slightly and is normal.
Day Count Mode
This mode allows you to count the number of days from the current date to a specified target date. You can store 10 numbered day counters, each with an 8-character descriptive text. When the target date set for any counter matches the current date (regardless of the counter's year), the DAYS indicator will flash on the Current Time screen. The indicator will also flash on the target date screen in Day Count Mode.
- By default, all counters are set to 2001/1/1.
- The entry displayed when you last exited Day Count Mode will appear when you re-enter the mode.
To view data: In Day Count Mode, press the [D button] (+) or [B button] (-) to scroll through entries.
To set a control date:
- In Day Count Mode, press the [D button] (+) or [B button] (-) to display the counter number you want to set.
- Press and hold the [A button] until the cursor starts flashing, indicating entry mode.
- Press the [C button] to move the flashing cursor through the following sequence: Name Input → Number Input. Holding the [C button] moves the cursor faster.
- When the cursor is in the text area, use the [C button] to scroll through characters for the current position. Holding the [C button] scrolls faster.
- When the cursor is in the data area, press the [C button] to scroll through digits for the current position. Holding the [C button] scrolls faster.
- Pressing both the [D button] and [B button] simultaneously will erase any entered text and set the date to the current day. The message "CLR" will appear. You can then set the desired date.
- After setting all values, press the [A button].
The date can be set from January 1, 1940, to December 31, 2039. The screen displays only 3 characters of text at a time. Longer messages scroll from right to left. The symbol '◄' indicates that the character to its left is the last, and the character to its right is the first.
Memo Mode
In this mode, you can enter 10 entries, each containing a name (up to 8 characters) and a phone number (up to 12 digits). You can recall an entry by scrolling through the data on the screen.
The entry displayed when you last exited Memo Mode will appear when you re-enter the mode.
Entering New Data

- After entering the name, press the [C button] to move the cursor to the number area. Pressing the [C button] when the cursor is in the 8th name position moves it to the number area. Pressing [C] when the cursor is in the 12th number position returns it to the text area.
- Use the [D button] to scroll through characters for the current position. Holding the [D button] scrolls faster.
- After selecting the desired digit, press the [C button] to move to the next digit position.
- Repeat steps 6 and 7 until the phone number is entered completely. You can enter up to 12 digits for the number.

The screen displays only 3 characters of text at a time. Longer messages scroll from right to left. The symbol '◄' indicates that the character to its left is the last, and the character to its right is the first. The number area can display only 6 digits at a time. If the phone number has more than 6 digits, the screen will automatically switch between the first six digits (counting from the first digit) and the last six digits (counting backward from the last digit). For example, if the number has 12 digits, the display alternates between the first and last six. If the number has seven digits, the display alternates between digits 1-6 and 2-7.

- When the countdown finishes, a 10-second alarm sounds. Press any button to stop the alarm. The timer will reset to 00:00.
- To stop the countdown, press the [A button]. The timer will reset to 00:00.
Alarm/Sound Mode
If the Daily Alarm is on, an alarm sounds for 20 seconds at the set time each day. Press any button to stop the alarm. If the Hourly Signal is on, a signal sounds at the beginning of each hour.
