Disposal: Waste electrical products should not be disposed of with household waste. Please recycle where facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or local store for recycling advice.
Usage: This product is for indoor use only.
Care and Safety
Clean with a soft dry cloth. Do not use solvents or abrasive cleaners. Always switch off the power supply before cleaning.
Installation
General: Existing fittings must be completely removed before installation. Ensure the power is switched off at the mains supply before commencing any work. This unit must be fitted by a competent and qualified electrician in accordance with relevant regulations. Check all parts are present.
Installation Surface Mounting
- Remove the metal spring of the sensor.
- Connect the power and load according to the wiring diagram.
- Fix the base onto the selected position with screws.
- Install the upper cover onto the sensor.
- Wire as detailed in the wiring diagram.
Installation Recessed Mounting
- Remove the transparent vinyl cover from the sensor base.
- Loosen screws in the connection terminal and connect power according to the wiring diagram.
- Fold the metal springs upwards and insert the sensor into the ceiling hole (Cut out: Ø75mm, Min. cavity depth: 30mm) or installation box.
- Release the springs to secure the sensor in place.
- Turn on the power and test the unit.
- Wire as detailed in the wiring diagram.
Wiring
This product is double insulated and must not be earthed. If earth cables are present, they must be joined together to ensure earth continuity.
Connection Diagram:
Identify the wiring from your existing light fitting and connect to the connection block inside the product:
- Live (L)
- Neutral (N)
- Load Output
Check: Ensure wires are correctly identified, connections are tight, no loose strands are left, and the cable clamp is fitted over the wires.
Layout and Detection
The sensor utilizes 24GHz Millimeter Wave Radar technology to detect both large and small movements, including hand movements, head movements, and breathing. The relay controls the light based on detected movement.
Detection Pattern: The sensor provides a 360° detection pattern when ceiling mounted and 180° when wall mounted. The optimal detection distance is up to 3m radius for movement and 2-3m radius for breathing.
Installation Height: Recommended installation height is 2.2-4m above the ground for optimal performance.
Placement Considerations:
- Avoid pointing the sensor at heat sources (e.g., flues) or bright lights, especially when the Lux control is set to dark.
- Avoid locating the sensor near electromagnetic fields.
- The mains supply cable must have a minimum cross-section area of 1.0mm² and be protected by conduit or trunking.
Note on Sensitivity: Detection sensitivity is influenced by factors such as person's height, movement speed, installation position, presence of barriers, and reflections from metal or glass. The provided data is based on specific test conditions (3m height, 165cm tester, 0.3m/s speed, body facing sensor). Adjust sensitivity based on the onsite installation environment.
