Temperature Considerations
The E3000 is designed to operate within a temperature range of -20°C to 45°C (-4°F to 113°F). If the ambient temperature exceeds 45°C (113°F), the temperature alarm will activate, and the unit may cease operation to prevent damage.
AC Overload Protection
The E3000 can power devices with a combined consumption of up to 2000 watts. If the connected load exceeds this limit, the AC overload alarm will flash, and the AC output will be disabled. Remove overloaded devices to resume normal operation.
Packing List
Your Pecron E3000 package should contain the following items:
- Pecron E3000 Unit x1
- AC Charger x1
- MC4 Solar Charging Cable (LSMC4-5GX16) x2
- Car Charging Cable x1
Note: An additional AC charger can be purchased separately from the Pecron website if needed.
Recharge Time
The recharge time varies depending on the charging method:
- Wall Charger (AC): Approximately 5-6 hours for a full charge. Using two AC chargers (if available) can reduce charging time to approximately 2.5-3 hours.
- Car Charging Cable: Approximately 31 hours for a full charge from a vehicle's 12V outlet.
Solar Charge Time
Solar charging times depend on the wattage and number of solar panels used, as well as environmental conditions. The E3000 features a built-in MPPT charge controller supporting 32V-95V input and up to 1200W total solar power.
- With Pecron 200W Solar Panels:
- 1 x 200W Panel: Approx. 23-24 Hours
- 2 x 200W Panels (400W total): Approx. 11-12 Hours
- 3 x 200W Panels (600W total): Approx. 7-8 Hours
- 4 x 200W Panels (800W total): Approx. 5-6 Hours
- 6 x 200W Panels (1200W total): Approx. 3-4 Hours
Note: Solar charging times are estimates and can vary based on sunlight intensity, panel angle, and weather.
Using Solar Panels to Charge the E3000
The E3000 offers flexible solar charging options via its DC5521 and GX16MF-5 ports. It is crucial to adhere to voltage and wattage limits to prevent damage.
Charging Ports and Limits:
- 1x DC5521 Charging Port: Supports PV/DC input from 12V to 18V, with a maximum input of 100W. The Open Circuit Voltage (VOC) of the solar panel must be less than 25V.
- 2x GX16MF-5 Charging Ports: Each port supports PV input within a voltage range of 32V to 95V, with a maximum input of 600W per port. The combined VOC of the solar panel array connected to a single port must not exceed 95V. Exceeding this limit will damage the unit.
Solar Panel Connection Examples (Using Pecron 200W /36V Panels):
Important: Always ensure the total Open Circuit Voltage (VOC) of your solar panel array does not exceed the specified limits for each port.
1. Charging with One 100W /18V Solar Panel:
Connect one 18V, 100W solar panel to the DC5521 charging port.
2. Charging with One 200W /36V Solar Panel:
Connect one 36V, 200W solar panel to one of the GX16MF-5 charging ports using an MC4 solar charging cable.
3. Charging with Two 200W /36V Solar Panels (400W Total):
Connect two 36V, 200W solar panels in series (resulting in approximately 72V). Connect this series to one of the GX16MF-5 charging ports using an MC4 solar charging cable.
4. Charging with Three 200W /36V Solar Panels (600W Total):
Connect three 36V, 200W solar panels in series (resulting in approximately 108V). Connect this series to one of the GX16MF-5 charging ports using an MC4 solar charging cable. WARNING: The GX16MF-5 ports have a maximum operating voltage limit of 95V. Connecting panels with a combined VOC exceeding 95V can cause permanent damage to the unit. Verify your panel specifications and configuration carefully.
5. Charging with Four 200W /36V Solar Panels (800W Total):
Connect two pairs of 36V, 200W solar panels in series (each pair resulting in approximately 72V). Connect these two series pairs in parallel to the two GX16MF-5 charging ports using MC4 solar charging cables.
6. Charging with Six 200W /36V Solar Panels (1200W Total):
Connect two groups of three 36V, 200W solar panels in series (each group resulting in approximately 108V). Connect these two series groups in parallel to the two GX16MF-5 charging ports using MC4 solar charging cables and appropriate Y-branch connectors. WARNING: The GX16MF-5 ports have a maximum operating voltage limit of 95V. Connecting panels with a combined VOC exceeding 95V can cause permanent damage to the unit. Verify your panel specifications and configuration carefully.
