Device Description
The EU-T-4.1/EU-T-4.2 room regulator controls heating devices (e.g., gas, oil, or electric boilers). Its primary function is to maintain the set temperature by signaling the heating/cooling device when the desired temperature is reached.
Advanced Software Functions:
- Maintaining the pre-set room temperature
- Manual mode
- Day/night program
- Weekly control
- Optimum Start
- Heating/cooling
Controller Equipment:
- Front panel made of glass
- Built-in temperature sensor
- Batteries
How to Install the Controller
The controller should be installed by a qualified electrician.
Diagram showing the EU-T-4.1/EU-T-4.2 regulator with dimensions: A = 134 mm, B = 94 mm, C = 24 mm.
The EU-T-4.1/EU-T-4.2 regulator can be placed anywhere (1) or used as a wall-mountable panel (2).
1. The regulator can be supported by a stand attached to the back cover.
2. To hang the regulator on the wall, carefully remove the stand.
To insert batteries, remove the back cover.
EU-T-4.1 Connection Diagram
Wiring diagram for connecting the EU-T-4.1 regulator to a heating device using a two-core cable.
EU-T-4.2 Connection Diagram
For wireless connection, a two-core communication cable should be connected to appropriate ports in the receiver.
EU-MW-2 Receiver
The EU-T-4.2 regulator communicates with the heating device (or CH boiler controller) via radio signal to the EU-MW-2 receiver. The receiver connects to the heating device via a two-core cable and communicates wirelessly with the room regulator.
- [Registration/channel change button]
- [Red control light 1]
- [Red control light 2]
- [Red control light 3]
The receiver has three control lights:
- Red control light 1: Indicates data reception and turns on during channel change.
- Red control light 2: Indicates receiver operation.
- Red control light 3: Turns on when room temperature fails to reach the pre-set value, indicating the heating device is switched on.
NOTE: If there is no communication (e.g., due to a discharged battery), the receiver automatically disables the heating device after 15 minutes.
How to change the communication channel:
Channel 35 is the default. To change it, press and hold the channel change button on the receiver for about 10 seconds until red control light 1 illuminates. Then, change the channel in the room regulator as described in the 'Controller functions' section. Red control light 1 on the receiver should then turn off.
External Temperature Sensor
The EU-T-4.2 regulator can optionally use an external temperature sensor. Mount the sensor in a shaded area, away from weather influences. Temperature readings are sent to the regulator every few minutes and displayed on the main screen. The sensor communicates wirelessly with the regulator, pre-configured for channel 35, but this can be changed if necessary.
Diagram showing the external temperature sensor and its communication button.
How to change the communication channel:
Press and hold the channel change button. When the control light flashes, channel change is initiated. Continue holding until the light flashes again. The number of flashes corresponds to the first digit of the desired channel. Release the button after the flashes and press again to set the second digit (light flashes twice). Hold the button until the desired number of flashes for the second digit. Upon release, the light flashes twice, confirming the new channel.
NOTE: For one-digit channel numbers (0-9), set 0 as the first digit.
Example 1 (Channel 28): Set first digit (2) by holding button until 2 flashes. Release and press again. Set second digit (8) by holding button until 8 flashes. Release, light flashes twice.
Example 2 (Channel 7): Set first digit (0) by pressing and releasing button immediately after initiation. Set second digit (7) by holding button until 7 flashes. Release, light flashes twice.
If errors occur during channel change, the control light remains on for about 2 seconds, and the channel will not be changed.
First Start-Up
For correct operation, follow these steps when starting the device for the first time:
- Insert batteries (remove the back cover first).
- Connect the two-core cable to the appropriate sockets in the regulator or receiver.
- For EU-T-4.2, ensure the communication channel in the regulator matches the receiver. Channel 35 is the default. Select a different channel if there is interference with other radio devices.
How to Use the Regulator
Principle of Operation
The EU-T-4.1/EU-T-4.2 room regulator maintains the pre-set room temperature by sending a signal (contact opening) to the heating device when the target temperature is reached. The heating device then disables or switches to sustain mode.
Operation Modes
The regulator can operate in several modes:
Day/night mode
Pre-set temperature varies based on time of day (daytime: comfort temp, nighttime: economical temp). Users can define exact times for day and night modes. Activate by pressing buttons until the [Day/night mode icon] appears.
Weekly control
Allows users to define when comfort and economical temperatures apply. Supports 9 programs:
- Programs 1-3: Daily settings for the entire week.
- Programs 4-6: Separate settings for weekdays and weekends.
- Programs 7-9: Separate settings for each day of the week.
Activate by pressing buttons until the [Weekly control icon] appears.
Manual mode
Pre-set temperature is adjusted manually using plus/minus buttons ([Minus Button] / [Plus Button]). Manual mode activates automatically when these buttons are pressed. The previous mode enters sleep mode until the next programmed temperature change. Manual mode can be deactivated by pressing these buttons.
Example 1: Manual mode activation in Day/night mode. User adjusts temperature, activating manual mode. Controller returns to Day/night mode at programmed time changes or when specific buttons are pressed.
Example 2: Manual mode activation in Weekly control mode. User adjusts temperature, activating manual mode. Controller returns to Weekly control mode at programmed schedule changes or when specific buttons are pressed.
