NUX NOD-1 HORSEMAN Owner's Manual
Model: NOD-1 HORSEMAN
Brand: NUX
Series: MINI CORE SERIES
This manual provides information for the NUX NOD-1 HORSEMAN overdrive guitar pedal.
Product Overview
The NUX NOD-1 HORSEMAN is a modification of the legendary overdrive pedal, the Klon Centaur. It features internal voltage boost (18V) for increased headroom, offering a classic Gold mode and a more versatile Silver mode with a wider gain range.
The pedal is designed to emulate the sound characteristics of the Klon Centaur, with the Gold mode offering the classic tone and the Silver mode providing an enhanced, higher-gain experience.
Bypass Mode Switching
The bypass mode can be switched between Buffer Bypass (indicated by a green LED) and True Bypass (indicated by a red LED). To switch modes, press and hold the ON/OFF footswitch while connecting the power supply (AC adapter).
The LED color change is visible only at the moment of switching or power connection. Under normal operation, the LED will display red.
Controls and Connections
The pedal features several controls and connection points:
- POWER IN: Connect a 9V, center-negative DC power supply (AC adapter) with a current rating of 100mA or higher.
- TREBLE knob: Adjusts the treble frequencies of the output signal.
- OUTPUT: Connect to your amplifier or the input of another effects pedal (output connection).
- POWER ON/OFF LED: This LED illuminates when the effect is active (ON).
- MAIN FOOTSWITCH: This switch controls the pedal's ON/OFF state. It also allows switching to the Silver mode and toggling between bypass modes (BF/TB - Buffer/True Bypass).
- INPUT: Connect your guitar or the output of another effects pedal (input connection).
- SILVER MODE LED: When the pedal is ON, press and hold the MAIN FOOTSWITCH for approximately 1.5 seconds to activate Silver mode. The LED will illuminate to indicate Silver mode is active.
- OUTPUT knob: Controls the overall output volume level of the pedal.
- GAIN knob: Adjusts the amount of overdrive or distortion applied to the signal.
The pedal includes a visual representation of the controls, showing the placement of the INPUT, OUTPUT, TREBLE, GAIN, and OUTPUT knobs, along with the MAIN FOOTSWITCH and POWER IN jack. The POWER ON/OFF LED and SILVER MODE LED are also indicated.
