Ensure compliance with your company safety best practices, which may include de-energizing equipment before working with electrical connections. Tidy connection cable to prevent tripping hazards. Installation Instructions Receiving the Shipment 1. If this is your first time setting up the Elemental Machines system, you will receive an email for your dashboard account verification. Save this email for when the devices arrive. 2. When devices are shipped, they will be added to your Elemental InsightsTM Dashboard with default names. When you first log in you will see all your devices with a 'disconnected' status. 3. When devices arrive, carefully remove the contents from the packaging. If any of the contents look damaged, please send a picture to help@elementalmachines.com. 4. If you have ordered multiple Element-B's, ensure the Element-B being used is configured as Normally Closed (NC). This can be verified by checking the device label, the dashboard under `Machine Model', or the packing list sent with your shipment. Both Normally Open (NO) and Normally Closed (NC) configurations are available and may be shipped in the same box. These are not interchangeable. 5. Ensure there is an Elemental Machines Gateway set up within 30 meters of the Element-B. Some installations may require shorter distances. a. Depending on your location and application, your Gateway type may vary. Attach provided connection cable to the port on the underside of the Matheson manifold alarm labeled `output' (located in center). You may need to remove the port dust cover before attaching the connector. Figure 1: (PM-24 Pressure Monitor, 2024) Attaching Connection Cable to Element 7. The provided connection cable has two orange Thermocouple connectors. Refer to the label on each side of the cable for left and right tank alarms. Select one Element-B for each side and label accordingly. 8. Plug the thermocouple end (Figure 2) of the connection cable into the Element-B. Pull the battery tab on the Element-B. Positioning the Element-B 10. Determine where the Element-Bs should be placed so that they are not blocked, which allows a better wireless connection, and so that the connection cable is tidy. 11. Securely position the Element-Bs in the chosen location. Each Element-B has magnets which make it easily mountable to magnetic surfaces. If applicable, an adhesive metal mounting plate available from EM may be used. Programming Alerts 12. Refer to the asset user manual for which alarm conditions it can detect. 13. Set up alert rules on the Elemental InsightsTM Dashboard for the Element-B. Guidance on how to do so is available in the Support section of the dashboard. NOTE: Alerts must be programmed on both the asset and the Elemental InsightsTM Dashboard to receive threshold alerts through the Elemental Machines platform. References PM-24 Pressure Monitor.
