2. Installation Guide
Follow these steps for proper installation:
Step 1: Prepare Motherboard
For Intel: Install the appropriate Intel backplate (E for LGA 1700, F for LGA 1200/115X) on the rear of the motherboard.
For AMD: Remove the stock AMD mounting bracket. Retain the original motherboard backplate.
Step 2: Install Retention Brackets
For Intel: Attach the Intel retention brackets (G) to the heatsink. Ensure they align with the socket type (LGA 1700 or 1200/115X).
For AMD: Install the AMD retention brackets (H) onto the heatsink and secure them using the countersunk screws (I).
Step 3: Prepare CPU
Carefully peel off the protective sticker from the CPU contact surface of the heatsink.
Step 4: Apply Thermal Paste
Apply a small amount of NZXT High-Performance Thermal Paste (L) onto the center of the CPU.
Step 5: Mount the Heatsink
For Intel: Place the heatsink onto the CPU, aligning the bracket screws with the motherboard's backplate holes. Secure the screws in the indicated order (e.g., cross pattern).
For AMD: Install the four AMD sleeves (J). Place the heatsink onto the CPU, aligning with the motherboard. Secure it using the #6-32 screws (K) in the indicated order (e.g., cross pattern).
Step 6: Attach Fan
Secure the fan (B or C) to the heatsink using the fan clips (D).
Step 7: Connect Fan Cable
Connect the 4-pin PWM fan cable to an available fan header on your motherboard or fan controller.
Step 8: Connect RGB Lighting (T120RGB Only)
For RGB lighting control on the T120RGB model:
- Connect the 4-pin NZXT RGB Cable (C) to an NZXT RGB lighting channel on your motherboard (Option 1) or a lighting controller (Option 2).
- Alternatively, use the 200mm 5V ARGB to NZXT RGB Adapter (M) to connect to a 5V ARGB header (Option 3).
WARNING: Do not connect the RGB cable to 12V RGB headers on motherboards.
3. Downloading NZXT CAM Software
To enable control and customization of your RGB fans, download and install the NZXT CAM software from nzxt.com/software/cam.
