Modes of Connection
Wired Mode
To use the mouse via a wired connection:
- Ensure the mode switch on the mouse is set to "OFF". The mouse will not function without a cable connection in this state.
- Connect the included USB Type-C cable to the mouse's Type-C port and the USB end to your device's USB port.
- The mouse is ready for use once its backlight illuminates.
- Note: When connected by cable, the mouse defaults to wired mode regardless of the toggle switch position (Bluetooth or 2.4GHz).
2.4GHz Mode
To establish a 2.4GHz wireless connection:
- Set the mode toggle on the mouse's underside to "G" (2.4GHz mode). The mouse will automatically enter 2.4GHz pairing mode, indicated by the mouse wheel's RGB light slowly flashing green.
- Connect the 2.4GHz receiver to a USB or Type-C port on your device.
- Upon successful connection, the mouse wheel's RGB light will illuminate solid green for 3 seconds, then dim off, entering breathing mode.
- If pairing is not completed within 3 minutes, the RGB light will turn off. To re-initiate pairing, simultaneously press and hold the "Left button" and "RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds.
- To repair a lost 2.4GHz connection: first, unplug the 2.4GHz receiver. Then, simultaneously press and hold the "Left button" and "RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds until the indicator light flashes green. Re-insert the 2.4GHz receiver to complete the pairing.
Recommendation: For optimal wireless pairing, keep the mouse within 20cm of the receiver. For general use, positioning the receiver close to the mouse minimizes latency and signal interference.
Bluetooth Mode
To connect via Bluetooth:
- Set the mode toggle on the mouse's underside to "B" (Bluetooth mode). The mouse will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, indicated by the mouse wheel's RGB light slowly flashing blue.
- On your device, open Bluetooth settings, search for "Keychron M3", and select "connect".
- While in Bluetooth pairing mode, the RGB light on the wheel will slowly blink blue for 3 minutes. If no connection is made within this period, the light will turn off. To re-enter pairing mode, simultaneously press and hold the "Left button" and "RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds; the mode indicator will slowly blink blue.
- If the M3 needs to pair with a new device in Bluetooth mode, simultaneously press and hold the "Left button" and "RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds. The mouse wheel's RGB light will slowly blink blue, indicating it has re-entered pairing mode. You can then connect your new device.
