3 Modes of Connection
Wired Mode
1. When the mode switch is in the "OFF" position, the mouse will not respond if the cable is not connected.
2. Connect the USB Type-C cable to the mouse and the USB port on your device. The mouse is ready to use when the backlit lights up.
* When connected by cable, the mode will default to wired mode, even if the toggle is set to Bluetooth mode or 2.4GHz mode.
Illustration shows a laptop connected via a USB-C cable to the mouse.
2.4GHz Mode
1. Switch the mode toggle to "G" (2.4GHz mode). The mouse will automatically enter 2.4GHz pairing mode, and the RGB light on the mouse wheel will slowly flash green.
2. Connect the 2.4GHz receiver to your device's USB or Type-C port. Upon successful connection, the RGB light on the mouse wheel will turn green and stay on for 3 seconds before dimming off. The RGB backlight will then enter breathing mode.
3. In 2.4GHz pairing mode, the RGB light on the side of the mouse wheel will slowly blink green for 3 minutes. If no connection is established within 3 minutes, the RGB light will turn off.
To reconnect: Hold both the "Left button + RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds to re-enter pairing mode.
* To repair the connection in 2.4GHz mode: Unplug the 2.4GHz receiver first. Then, hold both the "Left button + RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds until the green light indicator starts flashing. Finally, plug the 2.4GHz receiver back in to complete the pairing process.
Note: For optimal pairing in 2.4GHz mode, keep the mouse within 20cm of the receiver.
Diagram shows the mode switch set to 'G' for 2.4GHz mode. Another illustration shows pressing two buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds to enter forced pairing mode. A note advises placing the receiver close to the mouse for best wireless experience, reducing latency and signal interference.
Bluetooth Mode
1. Switch the mode toggle to "B" (Bluetooth mode). The mouse will automatically enter Bluetooth pairing mode, and the RGB light on the side of the mouse wheel will slowly flash blue.
2. Open your device's Bluetooth settings, search for a device named "Keychron M3", and click "connect" to complete pairing.
3. While in Bluetooth pairing mode, the RGB light on the side of the wheel will slowly blink blue for 3 minutes. If no connection is made within 3 minutes, the RGB light will turn off. To reconnect, hold the "Left button + RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds to re-enter pairing mode; the mode indicator will slowly blink blue.
4. If the M3 is in Bluetooth mode and needs to pair with a new device: Hold both the "Left button + RGB light effects button" for 4 seconds, and wait for the blue light to flash on. Bluetooth has now re-entered pairing mode, and you can connect the new device to the M3.
Diagram shows the mode switch set to 'B' for Bluetooth mode. Another illustration shows pressing two buttons simultaneously for 4 seconds to re-enter pairing mode. A screenshot indicates the connection status of "Keychron M3" as disconnected or connected.
