TCL TAB10 Gen2 Quick Start Guide

Your device

The TCL TAB10 Gen2 tablet is partially charged upon arrival. To charge the battery, use the provided USB-C cable and charger.

To expand memory, use the provided ejector tool to open the memory expansion tray. Insert your microSD™ card into the slot labeled "microSD". Note: microSD™ cards are sold separately.

Device Overview:

Home screen

The Home screen provides quick access to your most frequently used applications, shortcuts, and folders. Tapping the Home icon always returns you to the main Home screen.

Status bar

The status bar displays status and notification indicators. Swipe down from the status bar to open the notification panel or the Quick Settings panel. Swipe up to close the panels.

Favorite applications tray

This tray holds your favorite applications. Tap an icon to open an application, folder, etc. Long-press an icon to move or change applications in the tray.

The Home screen can be extended by swiping left and right to accommodate more icons and shortcuts.

Notification panel

Tap on a notification to view it within its respective application. Tap the clear all icon to remove event-based notifications. Ongoing notifications will remain.

Quick settings panel

Access the Quick Settings panel by swiping down from the status bar. Here you can enable or disable functions and change modes by tapping the icons. Tap to access the full Settings menu for more options. Tap to edit the Quick Settings panel layout.

Contacts

Your contacts are stored in the Contacts app. You can add, edit, or delete contacts and synchronize them with other accounts that support contact syncing. Contacts can also be imported or exported from external storage, email, or other accounts.

Adding a contact

Open the Contacts app and tap the '+' icon to add a new contact.

Synchronizing contacts

Contacts, data, and other information can be synchronized from multiple accounts based on installed applications.

Gmail

Your tablet is automatically synchronized with your Google account upon initial setup. The Gmail app allows you to create, send, and receive emails directly on your tablet. You can add multiple email accounts.

To open Gmail

From the Home screen, tap the Gmail icon within the Google folder.

To create and send emails

  1. Tap Compose from the Inbox screen.
  2. Enter recipient email addresses in the "To" field.
  3. Optionally, tap to add CC (Carbon Copy) or BCC (Blind Carbon Copy) recipients.
  4. Enter the subject and content of the message.
  5. Tap and select Attach file to add attachments.
  6. Tap Send to send the email.

To save a draft, tap the save icon and select Save draft. Access drafts later from the Drafts folder via the menu ().

Note: Screen images and icons are for reference only, as software is constantly evolving.

Getting connected

Wi-Fi

To connect to the internet via Wi-Fi:

  1. Go to Settings > Wi-Fi.
  2. Tap the switch to turn on Wi-Fi.
  3. Tap a Wi-Fi network name to connect. If the network is secured, enter the password or credentials and tap CONNECT.
  4. For hidden networks, scroll up and select Add network. Enter the network's SSID, password, and security credentials, then tap SAVE.

Software Updates

Go to Settings > System > System Update to check for updates.

Back up personal data

Go to Settings > System > Backup > Backup by Google One and turn it on.

Reset your tablet

Go to Settings > System > Reset > Erase all data (factory reset) > Erase all data.
