General Safety Precautions
Before installing or using the product, read these instructions carefully and strictly observe the precautions in use.
To avoid any risk of fire, electric shock, or injury, the product should be used and installed in compliance with basic safety precautions, including:
- Always follow the installation instructions provided with the product.
- Do not connect or use this product during thunderstorms. Interference from the mains and/or telephone network can cause electric discharges in the product or electric shock.
- If the product is used for voice communication, acoustic shocks may occur in the earpiece of the product, and excessive acoustic pressure can cause deafness.
- The product must be installed inside a building and its case must not be opened.
- Connect an Ethernet cable to an Ethernet port on the rear panel of the product and connect the other end to the Ethernet port of a computer.
- Connect only to in-house equipment (SELV interface).
- Connect a telephony cable to the telephony port on the rear panel of the product and connect the other end to the telephony port of a phone.
- It is not allowed to connect this product directly to the public cable distribution or cable television network.
- Plastic bags present a risk of suffocation. Keep out of reach of children.
- The product was designed to be used in a vertical position.
- If this product is to be mounted on a wall, use screws and dowels types and lengths adapted to the wall material. Recommended screw diameter is 3.5 mm, recommended screw length is 30 mm or more. Recommended dowel diameter is 5 mm, recommended dowel length is 30 mm.
Climatic Conditions
This product is designed for use in an office or room with a maximum ambient temperature of 40°C (104°F). It must not be installed anywhere with excessive sunshine and/or heat radiation.
It must not be installed where heat builds up (e.g., on or under other electrical equipment) and must not be exposed to moisture or condensation. It must be installed in an environment classified as pollution degree 2 (pollution-free environment with dry, non-conducting pollution).
Water and Moisture
Do not install the product in a damp or dusty environment. Do not allow it to come into contact with water or other liquids. No liquid must be allowed inside the product.
Do not use the product near a water outlet, such as a bath, washbasin, washing machine, in a damp basement, or near a swimming pool.
If liquid or any other substance gets inside the product, switch it off immediately or unplug the power cord from the mains socket. Continued use may cause an electrical discharge or fire.
Moving the product from a cold to a warm environment may cause condensation on internal parts. Allow the product to dry before switching it back on.
Cleaning and Maintenance
Disconnect the product electrically from the wall socket and from the computer before cleaning.
Do not use detergents, aerosols, chemicals that could damage plastic materials, or substances containing alcohol, benzene, diluent, or other flammable products, as these may cause a fire.
To reduce the risk of electric shock, do not dismantle this product. Internal parts are not replaceable by non-professionals, so there is no reason to open it. Opening or removing covers may expose you to dangerous voltages. Incorrect re-assembly may cause electric shock on subsequent reuse. If your product needs repair or service, contact customer service.
Power Supply
Only use the supplied power unit and power accessories. Connect them to the mains according to the installation instructions in this booklet and the indications on the identification label affixed to the power unit (mains voltage, current, frequency).
Using power sources other than those recommended for this equipment may cause overheating or deformation of the product, leading to electric discharge or fire.
The coaxial cable shield should be connected to the building's power supply earth.
Accessibility & Electrical Overload
Ensure the power unit is easily accessible and as close as possible to the equipment so that the product can be unplugged quickly in case of a problem.
Do not plug too many devices into a mains socket block or extensions, as this increases the risk of fire or electric shock.
Damage Requiring Repair
Unplug the product from the mains socket and have it repaired by qualified after-sales service if:
- The power supply or its plug is damaged.
- One of the supplied cables is damaged or frayed.
- You have spilled liquid into the product, or it has been exposed to rain or water.
- The product does not function normally or its performance varies considerably.
- The product has fallen or is damaged in any way.
- There are signs of overheating.
If small metal objects such as pins, paper clips, etc., accidentally get inside, disconnect the equipment from the mains as quickly as possible (risk of electric shock) and contact Customer Service for guidance. Do not reconnect the product until all foreign bodies have been removed. Unplug the product immediately if you notice a burning smell or smoke. Never open the product yourself due to the risk of electric shock.
This equipment is designed for private use inside a building. Ethernet and telephony ports are intended for connection to indoor cable circuits exclusively located within the building where this product is installed and do not terminate on remote equipment earthed to a different earthing network.
In certain environments or circumstances, the use of wireless devices may be prohibited by the building owner or organization representatives. If there is any doubt about the policy for using wireless equipment in a specific organization or environment (e.g., airports), ask for permission before switching on the product. Sagemcom Broadband SAS disclaims all responsibility for non-compliance with applicable regulations and for radio interference caused to third parties due to non-compliance with national regulations for this application.
