Before you start using this product, please follow these basic guidelines:

Please carefully read the manual thoroughly before beginning with the installation process!

Please remove your graphics card from the computer to assure safest mounting process in order to prevent any possible damages to your GPU and/or graphics card circuit board (PCB).

Mounting mechanism - Note: You may not need all the screws; the mounting mechanism is universal!

M2.5x8 AX1 Screw (8 pcs) - 8 mm length
M2.5x8 AX1 Screw - Nickel (8 pcs) - 8 mm length

Thermal Pads:

Thermal PAD F 1.0 mm - (120x16mm) (3 pcs)
Thermal PAD F 2.0 mm - (120x16mm) (2 pc)
Thermal PAD G 2.0 mm - (120x24mm) (2 pcs)

Backplate Dimensions

The backplate measures approximately 307.62 mm in length, 128 mm in width, and 5.20 mm in thickness.

Installing the Backplate

Step 1: Preparing the Graphics Card

First, complete the installation of your EK-Quantum Vector Trio RTX 3080/3090 D-RGB water block according to its installation manual. If the water block is already installed, remove the eight (8) AX1 screws and their PVC washers. These screws and washers are typically marked in the installation diagram.

Step 2: Cutting and Placing Thermal Pads

Your backplate is supplied with thermal pads that need to be cut into smaller pieces to cover all VRM components. EK has provided an adequate quantity of thermal pads for this step.

CAUTION: You must remove the protective foil from both sides of the thermal pad before installation.

Replacement thermal pads available:

3x Thermal Pad F 1.0 mm (120 x 16 mm) – EAN: 3830046996732
2x Thermal PAD F 2.0 mm - (120 x 16 mm) – EAN: 3830046996756
2x Thermal PAD G 2.0 mm - (120 x 24 mm) – EAN: 3830046996794

Step 3: Applying Thermal Pads

Once cut to size, the thermal pads should be applied to the backplate as shown in the diagrams. For RTX 3080, apply Thermal Pad G 2.0 mm and Thermal Pad F 2.0 mm. For RTX 3090, apply Thermal Pad G 2.0 mm and Thermal Pad F 1.0 mm to the designated areas on the backplate, covering the VRM components.

Step 4: Attaching the Backplate

Place the backplate onto the GPU's PCB, aligning all of the holes. Position an M2.5x8 AX1 screw in each of the (8) mounting holes. Tighten them evenly using a Phillips head screwdriver. Do not use excessive force!

Important Disclosures

Important Notice

Once installation is complete, it is recommended to test the cooling circuit for leaks before powering up the computer. A 24-hour leak test is advised. Do not test the water block using city water pressure, as this may damage the housing and void the warranty. While efforts have been made to provide comprehensive instructions, EK Water Blocks assumes no liability for consequential damages resulting from the use of their products, whether due to errors in instructions or product defects.

Warranty

EKWB products are warranted against defects in materials or workmanship for a period of 24 months from the date of delivery to the end-user. During this period, products will be repaired or have parts replaced at EKWB's discretion, provided the product is returned to the agent of purchase, was bought by an end-user for non-commercial purposes, and has not been misused or handled carelessly. This warranty does not confer rights beyond those stated and does not cover consequential loss or damage. It is an additional benefit and does not affect statutory consumer rights. The warranty is void if the product contacts aggressive UV additives or other improper liquids. EK blocks are sealed with a 'warranty void' label, indicating a successful pressure leak test.
