Product Overview
The ATEN KX9970 is a high-performance 5K DisplayPort Single Display KVM over IP Extender. It comprises a transmitter (KX9970T) and a receiver (KX9970R) designed to transmit computer keyboard, video, mouse, and USB signals over an IP network. This setup enables extended console access to computer systems, allowing them to be placed in secure, temperature-controlled environments separate from the user workstation. The system supports up to 5K (5120 x 2880 @ 30 Hz) resolution with zero latency and lossless video quality. It features one RJ-45 port and two SFP+ slots for 10-Gbps fiber optic network connections, supporting transmission distances up to 10 km. The KX9970 offers flexible connection options, including direct connection or via a high-speed network (copper or fiber-based LAN), and includes dual power supply capability for redundancy. Its space-saving 0U rack-mount design allows for easy installation at workstations, walls, or racks.
As an IP-based matrix extender, the KX9970 supports various configurations like point-to-point, point-to-multipoint, multipoint-to-point, and multipoint-to-multipoint. When integrated with the KVM over IP Matrix Manager (CCKM), it forms a robust KVM over IP matrix system. IT administrators benefit from features like auto-detection, username/password authentication, and advanced security protocols including 256-bit AES encryption, RADIUS, LDAP, Active Directory, and TACACS+. The KX9970 is ideal for control room applications such as air traffic control (ATC), traffic management centers, and broadcast distribution monitoring systems.
Note: The SFP+ module (2A-141G / 2A-142G) is sold separately. For product information, contact an ATEN dealer.

Diagrams and Visuals
KX9970 Diagram
The diagram illustrates the connectivity for the KX9970 Transmitter (KX9970T) and Receiver (KX9970R). The KX9970T features ports for Power, RS-232, USB, Optical Fiber, RJ-45 (Network), and Audio (x2). Its front view shows DisplayPort, USB, PS/2, Audio, DP, and RS-232 ports. The KX9970R also has ports for Power, RS-232, USB, Optical Fiber, RJ-45 (Network), and Audio (x2). Its front view includes USB, PS/2, Audio, DP, and RS-232 ports. An optional 2XRT-0015G PS/2 Access Control Box is shown with PS/2 and Audio connections.
Scenario Diagram
This diagram depicts a typical deployment scenario. A Server provides KVM and Audio signals to the KX9970T (Transmitter). The KX9970T connects to a 10 GbE Switch with IGMP, which then connects to the KX9970R (Receiver). The KX9970R outputs Video, KVM/USB, and Audio signals to a Monitor, Keyboard, and Mouse. An iPad, using ATEN Matrix Link, can also connect to the network for control. The system can be managed by CCKM servers, with options for Primary and Secondary configurations.
