Required Tools for Assembly and Maintenance

Tools

Mounting Material

• 4x M2.5x8 screws
• 4x M2.5 screws

Warnings

Please read the instructions carefully before starting the assembly. Failure to follow the instructions or an incorrect assembly can cause permanent damage to your hardware. The assembly is done at your own risk.

Modifications to the graphics card (such as removing the original air cooler) may affect or completely void the graphics card warranty.

It is recommended to use demineralized or deionized water (distilled water) with a suitable corrosion inhibitor as coolant. Recommended coolants include Mayhem's XT-1, Innovatek Protect, or Aquacomputer Double Protect.

Preparation of the Graphics Card

Dismantling the Air Cooler/Backplate

Required tools: Phillips PH0, Phillips PH1

Remove the air cooler and the backplate. Screws on the slot bracket may need to be removed for this. Afterwards, clean all contact surfaces.

Installation of the Water Block

Preparation of the Water Block

Required tools: Torx TX8

The pre-mounted backplate needs to be removed in the first step. The backplate cover must be removed for this. Now all screws of the backplate can be loosened. The red plastic washers are used only for transport protection and must be removed.

Step 1: Remove the backplate cover.

Thermal Pad Placement

Apply the heat conducting pads according to the following drawings. Apply a sufficient amount of thermal paste to the GPU area.

Pad dimensions:

• 105x8x2
• 39x15x1
• 105x7x1
• 105x10x1
• 52x15x1
• 52x15x1
• 50x50x2

Mounting the Water Block

Required tools: Torx TX8, M2.5x8 screws, M2.5 screws

The cooler must be mounted according to the following drawing. Ensure the black foil faces the graphics card.

Mounting the Backplate

Required tools: Torx TX8

Screws: 7x M2.5x10

The backplate must be assembled according to the following drawing.

Backplate components:

• 105x10x1
• (1) 10x7x1
• (2) 7x7x1
• 105x8x2
• 25x25x2

Switching the VBIOS

Required tools: Torx TX8

The VBIOS can be switched after removing the backplate cover. Refer to the drawing below for the location of the BIOS switch.

Opening the Cooler for Maintenance

Required tools: Torx TX8, Hex 3, Torx TX10

The cooler can be opened for maintenance purposes. Proceed as shown in the drawing below.
