Children are curious and imaginative and can sometimes be difficult to predict. That's why IKEA performs risk analyses and tests its children's furniture to ensure the pieces are suitable for children. It is important to use the included safety fittings and secure furniture properly to the wall, especially for pieces with a height of 23.5 inches or more.

Secure It! Prevent tip-over injury. Furniture with included restraints must be secured to the wall according to the assembly instructions. Different wall materials require different types of hardware. Use hardware (sold separately) suitable for the walls in your home.

SMÅSTAD is a storage system developed based on a child's perspective, designed to make it easier and more fun for children to get dressed and keep things organized. Children interact with their surroundings differently and are constantly developing. The system comprises a changing table, bench, twin loft bed with a desk, and various wardrobes and chests of drawers. Ages 0-2 years — calm start with safe routines

A combination of SMÅSTAD changing table and storage creates a cozy, safe, and practical place for changing diapers and storing baby-related items. As the child develops, the area can be personalized with pictures and a baby mobile.

Ages 3-7 years — full speed ahead and a lot can-do spirit

SMÅSTAD storage can be divided into different levels. Garments not used daily can be hung in the upper part, while the child can reach everyday clothes on hooks or in drawers in the lower part. This promotes independence and self-sufficiency.

Ages 8-14 years — personality takes its prominent role

At this age, children explore their identity. Features like a cork door allow them to display their style and interests without damaging the wall. Hooks on the inside and outside of SMÅSTAD make it easier to hang clothes, backpacks, and other items.

Good to know about the pull-out wardrobe

The pull-out lower part of the wardrobe offers a full overview and access to hooks and drawers from both sides. Hooks facilitate easy hanging and removal of clothes. The upper part is suitable for storing clothes and items not used daily.
