Care for Your Device

Handle the device, battery, charger, and accessories with care. The following recommendations will help keep your device operational.

During prolonged operation, the device may get warm. In most cases, this is normal. As a protection against overheating, the device may automatically slow down, close applications, or disconnect charging. In necessary cases, it will switch off by itself. If the device is not working correctly, take it to the nearest authorized service center.

Recycling

♻️ Always return used electronic devices, batteries, and packaging materials to designated collection points. This helps prevent uncontrolled waste disposal and supports the reuse of raw materials. Electrical and electronic products contain many valuable materials, including metals (such as copper, aluminum, steel, and magnesium) and precious metals (such as gold, silver, and palladium). All materials from which the device is made can be recovered as materials and energy.

Crossed-out Container Symbol

The crossed-out container symbol on the product, battery, in the accompanying documentation, or on the packaging serves to remind you that all electrical and electronic products and batteries must be collected separately at the end of their service life. First, remember to remove personal data from the device. Do not dispose of these products in unsorted municipal waste: hand them in for recycling. Information about the nearest recycling point can be obtained from your local waste management authority, or you can read about HMD's take-back program and its availability in your country at www.hmd.com/phones/support/topics/recycle.

Battery and Charger Information

Battery and Charger Information

To find out if your phone has a removable or non-removable battery, refer to the printed manual.

Device with a removable battery: Use this device only with an original rechargeable battery. The battery can be recharged and discharged hundreds of times (hundreds of cycles), but it will eventually wear out. If the talk time and standby time significantly decrease, replace the battery.

Device with a non-removable battery: Do not attempt to remove the battery, as you may damage the device. The battery can be recharged and discharged hundreds of times (hundreds of cycles), but it will eventually wear out. If the talk time and standby time significantly decrease, take the device to the nearest authorized service center to replace the battery.

Charge the device with a compatible charger. The charger plug type may vary. Charging time may vary depending on the device's capabilities.

Battery Safety

Extreme temperatures reduce battery capacity and lifespan. For optimal battery performance, always keep the battery at a temperature between 15°C and 25°C (59°F and 77°F). A device with a hot or cold battery may temporarily stop working. At low temperatures, the battery may discharge quickly and lose so much energy in a few minutes that the phone turns off. In low-temperature environments, try to keep the phone warm.

Observe local regulations. If possible, recycle batteries. Do not dispose of them in household waste.

Do not expose the battery to extremely low air pressure or very high temperatures. Do not throw them into a fire, for example. The battery may explode or leak flammable liquid or gas.

Do not disassemble, cut, crush, bend, puncture, or damage the battery. If the battery leaks, prevent contact of the leaked liquid with skin or eyes. If contact occurs, immediately rinse the affected areas with water or seek medical attention. Do not modify the battery or attempt to insert foreign objects into it. Do not immerse the battery or expose it to water or other liquids. Damaged batteries may explode.

Use the battery and charger only for their intended purposes. Improper use or the use of unapproved or incompatible batteries or chargers may cause a risk of fire, explosion, or other hazards, and may invalidate certifications or warranties. If you think the battery or charger is damaged, take it to the nearest service center or dealer for inspection before further use. Never use a damaged battery or charger. Use chargers indoors only. Do not charge the device during a thunderstorm. If a charger is not included in the sales package, charge the device using a data cable (included) and a USB power adapter (may be sold separately).

You can charge the device using cables and power adapters from other manufacturers that are compatible with the USB 2.0 interface or newer and comply with applicable national and international safety standards. Other adapters may not meet applicable safety standards, and charging with such adapters may pose a risk of property damage or personal injury.

When disconnecting the charger or accessories, always hold and pull the plug, not the cable.

If your device has a removable battery, the following instructions also apply:

Small Children

This device and its accessories are not toys. They may contain small parts. Keep them out of reach of small children.

Medical Devices

The operation of radio-frequency transmitting devices, including wireless phones, may cause interference with inadequately shielded medical devices. If you want to determine if the medical device is adequately shielded from the external radio field, consult your doctor or the medical device manufacturer.

Implanted Medical Devices

Manufacturers of implanted medical devices (e.g., pacemakers, insulin pumps, and neurostimulators) recommend that a minimum distance of 15.3 centimeters (6 inches) be maintained between the wireless device and the medical device to prevent potential interference. People with such devices should:

If you have questions about using your wireless device with an implanted medical device, consult your healthcare provider.

Hearing

Warning: Using a headset may affect your ability to perceive surrounding sounds. Do not use headphones if it may compromise your safety.

Some wireless devices may cause interference with some hearing aids.

Protect the Device from Harmful Content

The device may be exposed to viruses and other harmful content. Be careful when opening messages. They may contain malicious software or otherwise damage your device.

Vehicles

The device should be installed in the vehicle only by an authorized technician. Improper installation may be dangerous and may void the warranty. Regularly check that all mobile device accessories in the vehicle are correctly installed and functioning properly. Do not store or transport flammable or explosive materials in the same compartment as the device, its parts, or accessories. Do not place the device or any accessories in an area where airbags may deploy in the event of a collision.

Potentially Explosive Environments

Switch off the device in potentially explosive environments, such as at petrol stations. Sparks could cause an explosion or fire, posing a risk of injury or death. Observe restrictions in areas where fuel is present, in chemical plants, and in areas where blasting is carried out. Potentially explosive environments may not be clearly marked. These typically include areas where you are advised to switch off the engine, the lower decks of ships, transport or storage areas for chemicals, and areas where the atmosphere contains chemical or combustible particles. Consult vehicle manufacturers that use liquefied petroleum gas (e.g., propane and butane) to see if this device can be safely used near them.

Certification Information

This mobile device complies with regulations regarding radio wave exposure.

This mobile device is a radio transmitter and receiver. It is designed not to exceed the limits for exposure to radio waves (radio frequency electromagnetic fields) recommended by applicable international guidelines of an independent scientific organization, ICNIRP. These guidelines include a substantial safety margin to ensure the safety of all persons, regardless of age or health status. Radio wave exposure guidelines are based on the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) value, which expresses the amount of radio frequency energy transmitted that the device emits to the head or body when transmitting. The ICNIRP SAR limit for mobile devices is 2.0 W/kg, averaged over 10 grams of body tissue.

SAR tests are conducted with the device in standard operating positions, transmitting at its highest certified power in all frequency bands.

This device complies with legal requirements for radio wave exposure when used at the head or placed at least 1.5 cm from the body. If you use a case, belt clip, or other form of holder to carry the phone on your body, it should not contain metal and should be positioned at least the above-mentioned distance from the body.

A quality network connection is required to send data or messages. Sending may be delayed until such a connection is available. Follow the distance instructions throughout the sending process.

During normal use, SAR values are much lower than the values stated here. This is because the device's operating power is automatically reduced whenever full calling power is not required, for system efficiency and to minimize network interference. The lower the power, the lower the SAR value.

For more information, visit www.sar-tick.com. Be aware that mobile devices may transmit even when you are not making a call.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has stated that current scientific information does not indicate the need for any special precautions when using mobile devices. If you wish to reduce your exposure to radio waves, it is recommended to limit the use of such devices or use a hands-free kit, which keeps the device further from your head and body. For more information and explanations, and discussions on RF exposure, visit the WHO website at www.who.int/health-topics/electromagnetic-fields#tab=tab_1.

Maximum SAR values for the device can be found on the website www.hmd.com/sar.
