Preparing the Water Block
Step 1: Take your Velocity² 1700 block. Unscrew the M4 x 14 screws and remove the coldplate, jet, and O-ring.
Step 2: Install the Direct Die Coldplate, Direct Die Jet, and O-ring onto the water block using the M4 x 14 screws. Ensure the O-ring is positioned correctly, with its flat part seated in the coldplate as shown in the drawing.
Preparing the Motherboard
Step 1: Remove the CPU from the motherboard socket.
Step 2: Remove the stock Torx screws from the motherboard socket. Use the provided TX20 Key (included in the mounting bag) for this step.
Step 3: Remove the stock mounting mechanism from the motherboard.
Step 4: Install the delidded CPU into the socket.
Installing the Die Guard and Applying the Paste
Step 5 (CPU Cleaning): Clean the CPU DIE thoroughly using a non-abrasive cloth or a Q-tip.
Step 1 (Die Guard Installation): Place the DIE GUARD on the motherboard and align its holes. On the back of the motherboard, place the BACKPLATE. Use the M3 x 12 screws to mount the DIE GUARD to the BACKPLATE.
Step 2: Take the Protective FOAM and adhere it to the Protective STICKER. Then, carefully glue the combined Protective FOAM and STICKER onto the CPU.
Step 3: Position the Protective FOAM and STICKER on the CPU so that the DIE is centered within the protective FOAM. Ensure the foam does not touch the DIE itself.
Step 4 (Paste Application): Apply a small drop of Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut liquid metal paste onto the CPU DIE. Spread it evenly using the included cotton swabs. Use the provided needle accessory for application. Do not press the syringe too hard. For more detailed instructions, refer to the Thermal Grizzly Conductonaut instructions.
Installing the CPU Water Block
Proceed with installing the water block by following the instructions in the official manual. Refer to the chapter "INSTALLING THE WATER BLOCK", page 12. The manual can be found at: EK-IM-3831109857663.pdf
