SpeedFace - V5L[QR] Series

Due to regular upgrades of systems and products, ZKTeco could not guarantee exact consistency between the actual product and the written information in this manual.

Overview

SpeedFace-V5L[QR] Device Components

The SpeedFace-V5L[QR] device features the following components:

  • Flash
  • Camera & Palm Collector
  • Microphone ★
  • 5" Touchscreen
  • QR Code Scanner

On the rear or side:

  • Speaker
  • Reset Button
  • Magnetic Tamper Switch

Terminal Block Connections

The device provides various connection terminals:

  • Power In: 12V, GND
  • Wiegand: In (IWD0, IWD1), Out (WD0, WD1)
  • RS232: RXD2, TXD2, GND, RXD, TXD, GND
  • RS485: 485A, 485B
  • Ethernet: TX+, TX-, RX+, RX-
  • Auxiliary Input: AUX, GND
  • Sensor: SEN, GND
  • Exit Button: BUT, GND
  • Lock: NO1, COM, NC1
  • Alarm: AL+, AL-

Note: Not all products have the function with ★, the real product shall prevail.

Model Variants

SpeedFace-V5L[QR][TD]

Equipped with a Thermal Infrared Temperature Measurement Module.

SpeedFace-V5L[QR][TI]

Equipped with a Thermal Imaging Temperature Detection Module.

Installation Environment

Recommendations

  • ? Install Indoors Only
  • ❌? Avoid Installation Near Glass Windows
  • ❌☀️ Avoid Direct Sunlight and Exposure
  • ❌? Avoid Use of Any Heat Source Near the Device

Recommended Palm Gestures

For optimal performance, follow these guidelines:

  • Keep effective distance of 30 to 50 cm.
  • Keep spaces between your fingers.
  • Do not keep your fingers close.
  • Do not keep palm outside collection area.
  • Do not keep your fingers fold/curled.

Note:

  1. Place your palm within 30 to 50 cm of the device.
  2. Place your palm in the palm collection area, such that the palm is placed parallel to the device.
  3. Make sure to keep space between your fingers.

Recommended Standing Position

Keep effective distance of 0.3 to 2m.

Installation Requirements

The installation requirements and indications associated with the device are given below:

Note: The temperature measurement data is only for reference, and not for any medical purposes.

Forehead Temperature Detection

Indoor Constant Temperature Environment

  • Installation height: 1.55m
  • FOV (Field Of View) of the thermal imaging device: 50°
  • Temperature detection distance: 0.3m to 1.2m
  • Height of the face adapted for detection: 1.2m to 2m

Device Installation

Mounting Steps

Follow these steps to install the device:

  1. Attach the mounting template sticker to the wall, and drill holes according to the mounting paper. Fix the back plate on the wall using wall mounting screws.
  2. Attach the device to the back plate.
  3. Fasten the device to the back plate with a security screw.

Standalone Installation

Power Connection

Connect the 12V DC power supply to the device.

Recommended power supply:

  • 12V ± 10%, at least 3,000mA.
  • To share the power with other devices, use a power supply with higher current ratings.

Ethernet Connection

Connect the device to the network using an RJ45 Ethernet cable.

Default IP address: 192.168.1.201, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

Software IP address: 192.168.1.130, Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.

Configuration: Click [COMM.] > [Ethernet] > [IP Address], input the IP address and click [OK].

Note: In LAN, IP addresses of the server (PC) and the device must be in the same network segment when connecting to ZKBioSecurity software.

Sensor, Button, Alarm, and Lock Connections

Door Sensor, Exit Button & Alarm Connection

Lock Relay Connection

The system supports both Normally Opened Lock and Normally Closed Lock.

  • NO Lock: Connect to 'NO1' and 'COM' terminals.
  • NC Lock: Connect to 'NC1' and 'COM' terminals.

Power can be shared with the lock or used separately. Examples are shown for NC Lock configurations (device not sharing power, device sharing power).

Reader Connections

Wiegand Reader Connection

Connect a Wiegand card reader to the top 4 pins of the Wiegand terminal. The last two pins are used by the Access controller for credential transmission.

RS485 and RS232 Connection

The RS485 and RS232 interfaces allow connection to multiple readers. Two RS232 and one RS485 can be connected.

User Registration

If no super administrator is set, click the menu icon to enter the menu. Register a new user and set their role to Super Admin. Administrator verification is required. It is recommended to register a super administrator initially.

Method 1: Register on the device

Navigate: Menu Icon > [User Mgt.] > [New User].

Registration options include:

  • User ID
  • Name
  • User Role
  • Palm Registration
  • Face Enrollment
  • Card Number
  • Password
  • Profile Photo
  • Access Control Role

Method 2: Register on ZKBioSecurity software

Prerequisite: Set the IP address and cloud service server address in the Comm. Menu option on the device.

  1. In the software, click [Access] > [Access Device] > [Device] > [Search Device] to find the device.
  2. Click [Add] in the operation column. A new window appears. Select Icon Type, Area, and Add to Level, then click [OK].
  3. Click [Personnel] > [Person] > [New] and fill in the required fields to register a new user.
  4. Click [Access] > [Device] > [Device Control] > [Synchronize All Data to Devices] to sync user data to the device.

Method 3: Register on the phone

After installing ZKBioSecurity software, users can enroll via a mobile browser application.

  1. Click [Personnel] > [Parameters]. Input "http://Server address: Port" in the QR Code URL bar. The software generates a QR code. Scan this QR code or login to "http://Server address: Port/app/v1/adreg" via mobile phone to register.
  2. Users will appear in [Personnel] > [Temporary Personnel]. Click [Review].

Ethernet and Cloud Server Settings

Ethernet Settings: Click [COMM.] > [Ethernet] to configure network parameters. A success icon appears upon successful TCP/IP communication.

Cloud Server Settings: Click [COMM.] > [Cloud Server Setting] to set the server address and port. A success icon appears upon successful communication with the server.

Note: When pairing with ZKBioSecurity software, ensure "Enable Domain Name" is disabled and the correct server address and port are entered.

  • Server Address: Set as the IP address of the ZKBioSecurity server.
  • Server Port: Set as the service port of ZKBioSecurity (default is 6609).

Access Control Setting

Click [Access Control] to enter the management interface and configure relevant parameters.

Attendance Record

Click [Attendance Search] > [Event Logs] to query logs. Input User ID and select time range to display corresponding event logs.

Detection Management Settings

Click [System] > [Detection Management] to access settings.

Configure:

  • High temperature alarm threshold.
  • Temperature over range access denied.
  • Trigger external alarm.

The device sends an alarm and denies access if the detected temperature exceeds the threshold. Mask detection is configured similarly.

When "Allow unregistered people to access" is enabled, "Enable capture of unregistered person" can be set to save temperature data.

Notes and Real-time Monitoring

Notes:

  1. The effective distance for temperature detection is within 50cm.
  2. Recommended for indoor use.
  3. Temperature measurement data is for reference only, not for medical use.
  4. Remove mask for face registration; wearing a mask affects facial recognition.
  5. Facial verification for masked individuals increases FAR. Palm verification is recommended for masked individuals.

Real-time monitoring on the ZKBioSecurity software

Once ZKBioSecurity software is installed, users can perform temperature detection management.

  1. Set IP address and cloud server address on the device and add it to the software.
  2. Click [Temperature Detection] > [Temperature Management] > [Real-time monitoring] to view events (Abnormal Temperature, No Masks, Normal Records).
  3. Click [Temperature Management] > [Statistics Panel] to view statistical analysis and personnel with normal temperatures.

QR Code Verification

Configure QR Code Verification in ZKBioSecurity software:

  1. In [System] > [Basic Management] > [Parameters], set "Enable QR Code" to "Yes" and select the QR code status.
  2. On the Server, choose [System] > [Authority Management] > [Client Register] to add a registered App client.
  3. Open the APP, enter the server IP/domain and port, scan the QR code of the new APP client. After connection, tap Employee to login with Employee ID and Password (Default: 123456).
  4. Tap [Mobile Credential] on the APP. A QR code appears. Align the phone screen to the device QR code scanner.

Note: Place your phone within 15 to 50cm of the device. Do not block the device QR code scanner or the QR code on the phone screen.
