Product Overview
The RSD-30 series by MEAN WELL is a 30W enclosed type DC-DC reliable railway converter. It is compliant with BS EN/EN50155 and IEC60571 railway standards. This series offers three types of models with a 4:1 wide input range, catering to different input voltage requirements such as 9~36V, 18~72V, and 40~160V, making it suitable for various transportation systems that utilize standard input voltages like 12V, 24V, 36V, 48V, 72V, 96V, and 110V. It is available with output voltages of 3.3V, 5V, 12V, and 24V.

Installation and Operation
Installation: For detailed installation instructions, please refer to the MEAN WELL website: www.meanwell.com/manual.html. The unit can be installed in various orientations, and thermal performance is similar for different methods, sharing the same derating curve.
Parallel and Series Connection: The RSD-30 series does not have a built-in parallel circuit for current sharing, but redundant operation can be achieved using external circuits. Series operation is also possible by connecting the positive and negative terminals of the units.
LED Indicator: A green LED indicates normal operation. No light indicates no power or a failure.
Derating Curve: The derating curve shows the load capacity reduction based on ambient temperature and case temperature. For single unit operation without an iron plate, the maximum ambient temperature is 55°C at full load. Derating is required for temperatures between 55°C and 70°C.

The model encoding follows the pattern: RSD-30[Input Voltage Range]-[Output Voltage].
