Product Overview

The SCWN03W8 and DCWN03W8 series are 3W isolated and regulated module type DC-DC converters featuring a DIP24 package with international standard pins. They offer a high efficiency up to 84%, a wide working temperature range of -40~+95℃, 3KVdc I/P-O/P isolation voltage, and compliance with BS EN/EN55032 radiated Class B standards without additional components. These converters include continuous-mode short circuit protection and an 8:1 (9~75V) ultra-wide input range. They are available with various output voltages, including 3.3V, 5V, 12V, 15V for single output and ±5V, ±12V, ±15V for dual outputs, making them suitable for industrial control, telecommunication fields, and distributed power architectures.

  2. Ripple & noise are measured at 20MHz by using a 12" twisted pair terminated with a 0.1uf & 47uf capacitor.
  3. Line regulation is measured from low line to high line at rated load.
  4. Load regulation is measured from 0% to 100% rated load.

Performance Characteristics

Derating Curve

The derating curve illustrates the relationship between the load percentage and the ambient temperature (Ta) for the DC-DC converters. It shows that for single output voltages (3.3Vo/5Vo/±5Vo), the maximum load capacity is maintained up to a certain temperature, after which derating is required. For other outputs, derating begins at lower temperatures. The curve indicates operation under natural convection and highlights the need for derating at higher ambient temperatures to prevent overheating and ensure reliability.
