Do not operate any electrical equipment (e.g., an electric ice cream maker) inside the appliance.
Always follow the manufacturer's 'Use By' dates and storage instructions on food packaging to avoid the risk of food poisoning.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision and instruction by a person responsible for their safety.
To avoid a hazard due to instability, the appliance must be fixed according to the installation instructions.
Installation, maintenance, and repairs must only be carried out by a suitably qualified person. Repairs under warranty must be performed by a LAMONA authorised service technician; failure to do so will invalidate the warranty.
Safety with Children
- Children under 8 years of age must be kept away from the appliance unless constantly supervised.
- Children 8 years and older may use the appliance unsupervised if they have been shown how to use it safely and understand the consequences of incorrect operation.
- Children must not clean or maintain the appliance unsupervised.
- Supervise children in the vicinity of the appliance and do not let them play with it.
- Danger of suffocation! Children playing could become entangled in packaging (like plastic wrapping) or pull it over their head. Keep packaging material away from children.
Warning - General
- Do not use sharp objects inside the product, e.g., for defrosting.
- Do not use a damaged appliance; it could be dangerous.
- Ensure the mains plug remains accessible.
- The appliance must not be used in a non-stationary location, e.g., on a ship.
Cooling Circuit and Disposal
Cooling Circuit
The cooling circuit is factory tested for leaks and complies with statutory safety requirements and EU guidelines. It contains Isobutane (R600a), an environmentally friendly natural gas. While flammable, it does not damage the ozone layer. The use of this coolant may slightly increase noise levels, and you might hear the coolant flowing, but this does not affect performance.
WARNING: If the cooling circuit is damaged:
- Leaking coolant can damage the eyes.
- Avoid naked flames or anything that creates a spark.
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains electricity supply if the cooling system is damaged.
- Ventilate the room.
The amount of coolant affects the room space required. For every 8g of coolant, at least 1m³ of room space is needed to prevent a dangerous build-up of combustible gas in the event of a leak, especially in small rooms. The coolant amount is stated on the data plate.
Disposal of the Waste Product
This product bears the WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) classification symbol. It is manufactured with high-quality, reusable, and recyclable parts. Do not dispose of this product with normal domestic waste at the end of its service life. Take it to a designated collection centre for recycling electrical and electronic equipment. Cold Zones
Due to natural air circulation, different temperature zones exist within the fridge:
- Cold, heavy air settles in the lower sections.
- The coldest area is directly above the fruit and vegetable drawer and at the back of the appliance.
- Ensure food does not touch the back wall, as it may freeze.
- The warmest areas are at the top, front, and in the door sections, suitable for butter and cheese.
- Be careful when placing or removing wine bottles from the rack to avoid dropping them.
Loading the Fridge
- Allow air to circulate efficiently; do not pack food too closely together.
- The normal storage temperature should be no higher than +5°C (centre shelf). Use an accurate thermometer to verify.
- Energy efficiency is optimized when shelves and baskets are in their default positions, allowing good air circulation.
- Always cover food and avoid storing open containers.
- Each time the door is opened, cold air escapes, and the internal temperature rises. Close the door immediately after use.
If the rear wall of the larder fridge is wet, it is normal as it freezes and then defrosts. If ice builds up and does not defrost, lower the temperature control to 1 for a few hours until the ice melts, then return to the normal setting.
Ensure stored foods do not touch the rear wall, as ice will form and water may be deposited.
⚠️ Due to the vacuum effect created when the door is closed, do not try to re-open it immediately. Wait a short period before attempting to open the door.
Food Storage and Energy Efficiency
Energy efficiency is optimized when drawers and shelves are in their default positions and food is evenly distributed.
Well-ventilated environments with lower ambient temperatures are ideal for energy saving. In very low ambient temperatures (below 5°C), check and adjust internal temperatures as necessary.
- Minimize the time between buying chilled food and placing it in the appliance, especially in summer. Use a cool bag for transport.
- Do not leave the appliance door open longer than necessary and ensure it is closed properly after each opening.
Food Storage Advice and Recommendations to Avoid Waste and Save Energy

Door Alarm, Noises, and Defrosting
Door Alarm
An alarm will sound and the interior light will pulse if the larder fridge door is left open for more than 1 minute. Close the door to stop the alarm.
Noises
During normal operation, you may hear various noises, including clicks, gurgles, and the humming of the cooling fan. This is perfectly normal.
Common noises and their sources:
- Whirr / SSRR: Compressor or fan operation.
- Buzz: Starting or ending an operation.
- Click / Crack: Expanding materials.
- Shsss / Hiss: Coolant circulating in the system.
- Gurgle / Glug: Coolant circulating in the system.
Defrosting Larder Fridge
The larder fridge defrosts automatically. Defrost water runs to a drain tube via a collection channel at the back of the fridge. During defrosting, water droplets may form on the liner and refreeze. Do not use sharp objects (knives, forks) to remove frozen droplets.
If defrost water does not drain, check the collection channel for obstructions. The drain tube can be cleared using the special plastic plunger provided. If ice builds up, lower the temperature control to 1 for a few hours until the ice melts, then return to the normal setting.
Use the plunger supplied to unblock the drain hole.
