Warning and Safety information
Please read these instructions. The manufacturer is not responsible for injuries or damage caused by incorrect installation and use. Always keep the instructions with the fridge freezer for future reference.
Correct usage
- Your LAMONA product is designed for built-in domestic household use only.
- This fridge freezer must only be used for storing and freezing edible foodstuffs.
- It is not suitable for storing medicines, blood plasma, or laboratory preparations.
- The appliance is designed for use within a specific climate range (SN-ST). Installing it in rooms with temperatures too low may cause it to switch off.
WARNING: Do not damage the refrigerant circuit.
- Do not store explosive materials or products containing propellants (e.g., spray cans) in the appliance.
- Do not cover or block air vents, as this impairs efficiency and increases electricity consumption.
- Do not operate electrical equipment (e.g., electric ice cream maker) inside the appliance.
- Do not store cans or bottles with carbonated drinks or liquids that could freeze in the freezer.
- When cooling drinks quickly, do not leave bottles in for more than an hour to prevent bursting.
- Do not handle frozen food or metal parts with wet hands to avoid freezing to them.
- Do not place ice cubes or ice lollies in your mouth straight from the freezer to avoid frost burns.
- If food freezes to a surface, do not tear it away; use cold water to release it.
- Do not refreeze partially or fully defrosted food. Consume defrosted food as soon as possible. Refrozen food must be cooked first.
- Follow 'Use By' dates and storage instructions on food packaging.
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised or instructed by a person responsible for their safety.
To avoid hazard due to instability, fix the appliance according to installation instructions.
Installation, maintenance, and repairs must only be carried out by a suitably qualified person. Repairs must only be made by a LAMONA authorised service technician during the warranty period.
Safety with children

Cooling circuit
The cooling circuit is factory tested for leaks and complies with statutory safety requirements. This appliance contains Isobutane (R600a), a less environmentally damaging but flammable coolant. This may cause a slight increase in noise level and you may hear the coolant flowing, which does not affect performance.
WARNING: If the cooling circuit is damaged:
- Leaking coolant can damage the eyes.
- Avoid naked flames or anything that creates a spark.
- Disconnect the appliance from the mains electricity supply.
- Ventilate the room.
- The amount of coolant and required room space are stated on the data plate inside the appliance. For every 11g of coolant, at least 1m³ of room space is required to prevent combustible gas build-up in case of leakage.

- Do not use steam cleaning equipment.
- Do not use electric heaters or candles for defrosting.
- Do not use defrosting sprays or de-icers.
The data plate inside the fridge freezer must not be removed as it contains essential service information.
Disposing of the old appliance
Dispose of the old appliance without harming the environment.
- Remove the electric plug.
- Make any locks inoperable to prevent children from locking themselves in.
- Contact the local council for disposal or waste collection information.

- Set the temperature control to between 0 and 5 (initially at 2.5).
- Front edges may feel warm, which is normal and designed to avoid condensation.
- Do not load the appliance immediately after switching on. Wait 6 hours for the correct storage temperature to be reached. Check the temperature with an accurate thermometer.
- Check the appliance is working correctly.
WARNING: Turning the temperature control to '0' switches the fridge freezer OFF.
Installation instructions
- The room must not be smaller than 10 cubic metres.
- Refer to detailed 'Installation Instructions' for reversing door opening direction.
- This appliance is intended for ambient temperatures between +10°C and +38°C (SN-ST).
- Do not place the appliance in direct sunlight as this may reduce efficiency.
Replacing the interior light
The LED lamp is not user-replaceable. If a failure occurs, please call the LAMONA Service Line. The light is for illuminating the fridge section to assist safe food handling.
2 - Using the fridge freezer
Temperature control and adjustment
Interior temperature can be affected by seasonal changes, frequent door openings, hot food, and appliance location. Adjust the temperature using the control dial (0=OFF, 5=coldest setting, normally 2.5).
WARNING: Turning the temperature control to '0' switches the fridge freezer OFF.
Cold zones
Due to natural air circulation, temperatures vary within the fridge:
- Coldest areas are at the bottom, above the crisper and at the back. Food must not touch the back wall to prevent freezing.
- Warmest areas are at the top, front, and in the door sections. Use these for butter, cheese, etc.
An alarm will sound if the fridge door is left open for more than 1 minute. Close the door to stop the alarm.
Noises
Normal operating noises include 'cracks', 'gurgles', and fan 'humming'.
Storing frozen food
- Store pre-packed frozen food according to manufacturer's instructions.
- Leave air circulation channels through stored food.
- In case of power failure, do not open the freezer door. Frozen food should be unaffected for a few hours (check rating plate for conservation time). For longer failures, check food and consume or cook and refreeze.
- DO NOT lift and carry drawers by the drawer front; use side handles.
Loading
- Allow air to circulate; do not pack food too closely.
- Recommended fridge temperature: no higher than +5°C (centre shelf).
- Recommended freezer temperature: -18°C.
- Check temperatures with an accurate thermometer.
- Always cover food and avoid storing open containers.
- Close doors immediately after use.
- If ice builds up on the fridge rear wall, turn the dial to '1' for a short period until ice melts, then return to normal.
Food storage and energy efficiency
- Energy efficiency is best with default drawer/shelf positions and evenly distributed food.
- Store raw meat and fish on the coolest, lowest shelf.
- Store butter and cheese on upper shelves or in door racks.
- Minimize time between buying chilled/frozen food and storing it. Use a cool bag for frozen food.
- Do not leave doors open longer than necessary and ensure they are closed properly.
- Defrost frozen food in the fridge compartment to assist cooling.
Food storage advice and recommendations to avoid waste food and energy
- Do: Clean regularly, store raw meat below cooked food, prepare vegetables, wrap cheese and meat properly, wrap fish and strong-smelling foods, wrap bread, chill drinks, check freezer contents, adhere to 'Best Before'/'Use By' dates, store commercially frozen food as instructed, use high-quality fresh food, freeze food in small portions, wrap all food securely, defrost food in the fridge.
- Don't: Store bananas or melon in the fridge (unless wrapped), store poisonous or dangerous substances, consume excessively old food, store cooked and fresh food together, let food juices drip onto other food, leave doors open, put hot food in the appliance, store liquid-filled bottles or sealed carbonated cans in the freezer, exceed maximum freezing loads, give ice-cream/water ices to children directly from the freezer, refreeze thawed food (eat within 24 hours or cook and refreeze), remove items with wet hands, close the freezer door before closing drawers, thaw frozen food at room temperature (use the fridge).
Freezing fresh food
- Do not freeze very large quantities at once; freeze food quickly to the core for best quality.
- Do not place warm food into the freezer, as it may overcool the fridge section.
- For large quantities, turn the temperature control to a higher setting for a few hours before returning to normal. (Up to 0.5 kg can be frozen without adjusting the control).
- Fresh food can be placed in any part of the freezer.
Making ice cubes
- Fill ice cube trays 3/4 full with water and place in the freezer.
- Use a blunt instrument to remove stuck trays.
- Twist trays or hold under cold running water to remove ice cubes.
- Store ice cubes in a freezer bag for long-term storage.
Defrosting fridge compartment
The fridge compartment defrosts automatically. Defrost water runs to a collection channel and drain tube. Droplets may form and refreeze. Do not use sharp objects to remove frozen droplets. If the drain channel is blocked, use the provided plastic plunger. If there is ice build-up, lower the temperature to '1' for a few hours until it melts.
Defrosting freezer compartment
The freezer compartment does not defrost automatically. Defrost twice a year or when a frost layer of 7mm (1/4") forms. The freezer has a collection well for defrost water.
- Switch off the appliance at the mains and unplug.
- Remove all food, wrap in newspaper, and store in a cool place.
- Remove freezer drawers and glass shelf separators (handle glass carefully).
- Place containers of warm water in the freezer to speed up defrosting.
- Sponge out defrost water or place a folded towel in the base to soak it up. Do not let water spill onto the floor.
Fridge shelf removal/adjustment
Shelves can be adjusted for food storage requirements. Remove/adjust only when empty.
- Lift the front edge of the shelf and pull forwards.
- Insert shelf at the desired height.
The raised edge at the back of the shelf must face upwards to prevent food touching the back wall and freezing.
Salad crisper removal
Open the drawer to its maximum, lift upwards, and remove for cleaning.
Door shelf removal/adjustment
Remove/adjust only when empty.
- Gently push the door shelf upwards from underneath.
- Replace at the required height, ensuring it is securely fixed.
- Do not let large/heavy bottles drop into door shelves.
Freezer drawer removal
- Pull the drawer forwards as far as possible.
- Grab the drawer by the handles and lift away.
- Use side handles to carry, not the drawer front.
Freezer glass separator shelf removal
Glass shelves can be removed for storing larger items. Handle glass carefully.
- Remove the freezer drawer(s).
- Lift the front edge of the glass separator shelf and remove.
3 - Cleaning and care
- Switch off the fridge freezer at the mains socket and remove the plug before cleaning or maintenance.
- Do not let water penetrate electrical parts or lighting.
- Cleaning water must not drain into the defrost drain hole.
- If not using for a long period, switch off, remove food, clean, and leave the door ajar.
Cleaning agents
Use a clean cloth or sponge with lukewarm water and a small amount of washing-up liquid. All cleaning agents must be food safe.
Do not use:
- Cleaning agents containing soda, ammonia, acids, or chlorides.
- De-scaling agents.
- Abrasive cleaning agents (powder or cream cleaners).

- Replace front trims after cleaning.
Cleaning
- Clean the fridge interior monthly.
- Clean the freezer compartment annually.
- Remove spillages immediately.
- Fridge interior: Clean with a cloth/sponge and lukewarm water with mild detergent. Wipe dry with a soft cloth. Leave doors open to air and prevent odours.
- Fridge fittings and freezer drawers: Do not use a dishwasher. Clean with a cloth/sponge and lukewarm water with mild detergent (bicarbonate of soda can be added to remove odours). Wipe dry with a soft cloth.
- Fridge defrost channel: Wipe the defrost collection channel and drain hole frequently. Use the provided plastic plunger to clear blockages. Do not pour water down the hole.
Cleaning the door seals
- Clean regularly with a mild detergent and clean cloth. Wipe dry.
- If necessary, remove the seal for a deeper clean, taking care not to damage it.
- If door seals are misplaced, damaged, or the door does not close fully, ice will build up.
Cleaning the ventilation void
Dust build-up in ventilation areas increases energy consumption. Clean regularly with a soft brush and vacuum cleaner.
After cleaning
- Replace all shelves and accessories.
- Reconnect to the mains socket and switch on.
- Place food in the fridge section and close the door.
- Once the freezer temperature is below 0°C, place food back in the freezer drawers.
4 - Problem solving
If the appliance does not operate:
- Check plug is inserted correctly and power is on.
- Check fuse/circuit breaker/main switch.
