Beninca BOB2124 / BOB2124 E / BOB3024 / BOB3024 E Gate Operators
User's Handbook and Installation Guide
Introduction
This manual provides essential information for the installation, operation, and maintenance of Beninca BOB2124 and BOB3024 series gate operators. Please read these instructions carefully before proceeding.
Safety Rules
- Do not stand in the movement area of the gate.
- Do not let children play with controls or near the gate.
- In case of operating faults, do not attempt repairs; contact a qualified technician.
General Information
For optimal performance of these automatic devices, the gate to be automated should meet the following requirements:
- Good strength and stiffness.
- Hinges with minimal backlash, allowing for smooth and regular manual operations.
- Gate leaves should overlap correctly along their entire height when closed.
As the actuator is not supplied with electromagnetic limit switches, mechanical stops on closing and opening are mandatory for the gate to be automated.
Fitting the Automatic System
Installation Steps:
- Stabilize the height of the automatic system above ground level, ensuring it is central to the gate and aligns with a sturdy cross piece.
- Weld plate P, respecting the distances indicated in Figure 2.
- When the gate is closing, weld bracket S onto a gate cross piece or a robust element, maintaining the distance shown in Figure 3. Ensure the actuator is not at the extreme end of its travel in this condition.
- Remove the protective cover C by unscrewing screw F. Fix the actuator to plate P using screw T, washer L, and nut D (Figure 3).
- Finally, secure the actuator to plate S with screw V and washer R.
- The holes in the actuator (Figure 2A) assist in achieving optimal installation distances.
Adjustable fixing brackets are available upon request, offering greater adaptability to different installation conditions and avoiding the need to cut and weld the supplied brackets.
How to Adjust Mechanical Stoppers
The actuator features adjustable mechanical stoppers for opening and closing phases. Adjustment is done by positioning the "Open" and "Close" mechanical locks:
- Unlock the automatic system using the special release lever as per user instructions.
- Close the gate leaf.
- Loosen screws V1 and move the "Close" lock until it contacts pivot P, then tighten screws V1.
- Open the gate leaf.
- Loosen screws V2 and move the "Open" lock until it contacts pivot P, then tighten screws V2.
- Reset the system to automatic operating mode.
Connections
The special plate P (Figure 5) allows for the use of a sheath or cable gland PG11 or PG13.5. After applying the chosen cable gland to the plate, secure the plate to the adaptor cover using screws V.
Wiring Recommendations: Keep power cables separate from auxiliary cables. For cable lengths under 5m, use a 2x2.5mm² cable. For lengths between 5m and 10m, use a 2x4mm² cable. Connections between the control unit and motor exceeding 10m are not recommended.

Manual and Emergency Manoeuvre
In case of power cut or breakdown, operate the wings manually as follows (refer to Figures A, B, C):
- Open the protective door of the release mechanism (Figure A).
- Insert the special release key and turn it 90°, as shown in Figure B (right actuator) or Figure C (left actuator).
- The gate wing can now be opened or closed manually.
- To restore automatic operation, return the release key to its original position.
- Remove the release lever and close the protective door.
Maintenance
- Monthly, check the proper functioning of the manual emergency release.
- Extraordinary maintenance or repairs must only be carried out by qualified personnel due to potential accident risks.
- The operator is maintenance-free, but periodic checks of safety devices and other automation system components are necessary to prevent dangers caused by wear and tear.
Waste Disposal
As indicated by the [Recycling Symbol] ♻️, this product should not be disposed of as normal urban waste. Some parts may be harmful to the environment and human health if disposed of incorrectly. Dispose of the device at designated collection points or return it to the reseller when purchasing a similar new device. Incorrect disposal may result in fines.

Warning
All Beninca products are covered by an insurance policy for damages and injuries caused by manufacturing faults. This coverage requires that the entire system be marked CE and only Beninca original parts be used. Ensure compliance with regulations in force.
An omnipolar switch/section switch with remote contact opening equal to or higher than 3mm must be provided on the power supply mains. Ensure an adequate differential switch and overcurrent protection are provided before wiring. Some installations may require the gate connection to be earthed. Always cut off power supply before accessing live parts during installation, maintenance, or repair.
