- Detach the rubber ring from the sensor head and keep it aside for reattachment after painting.
- Clean the sensor head with 1000 grit sandpaper and remove any primer. Ensure no substrate is visible and there is no damage to the sensor head.
- Remove dust from the sensor surface by cleaning with a SWAB or an alcohol-dipped cloth.
- Mask the entire sensor except for the head using masking tape.
- Place the sensor with the head facing upwards and apply primer over it.
- Spray paint the sensor head from a distance of 15-20 cm. Before painting, confirm that the primer has completely dried.
- Place the painted parts in an oven at 80°C for 60 minutes.
- Re-attach the rubber ring back onto the sensor head.
Installation Process
- Disconnect Battery: ? Ensure the negative terminal of the car battery is disconnected before starting installation.
- Remove Front Bumper: ? Remove the front bumper from the car following ELSA Pro guidelines.
- Apply Template: Stick the provided template onto the bumper and mark the cut-out regions where the brackets will be installed using the drill bit. Refer to step 3-11 for details.
- Sensor Position Diagram: A diagram illustrates the designated sensor positions on the Škoda Slavia front bumper, labeled FRC, FRM, FLM, and FLC.
- Drill Holes: Use the 8mm drill bit to create the necessary holes.
- Prepare Drilled Holes: After drilling, unscrew the nut from the hole saw bit set and remove the larger diameter round piece. Pass the hole saw through the drilled hole, positioning the smaller diameter part on the front and the larger diameter part on the backside of the bumper. Ensure the larger diameter cutting blade is on the bumper's backside. Tighten the screw until the hole is formed.
- Repeat Drilling: Repeat the drilling process for the remaining three holes using the template.
- Clean Area: Clean the area around the drilled holes with a cloth and then use the IPA alcohol swab as shown.
- Apply Primer: Apply primer around the hole using a cotton swab and wait for it to dry.
- Fit Sensor in Bracket: During sensor unit fitment into the bracket, ensure the sensor's lock rests securely in the bracket slot.
- Attach Bracket: Peel off the adhesive protection layer from the tape and paste the bracket at the designated location. Ensure the bracket is attached with the sensor in its assembled form to avoid position mismatch.
- Connect Harnesses: Attach the sensor harness connectors to all four sensors.
- Install Cable Tie Bases: Paste the cable tie bases and insert cable ties after cleaning and primer application. Refer to step 27 for the correct placement of the tie bases.
- Route Harness: Route the harness and secure it with cable ties. After tightening, trim any excess cable tie edges. Route the wire behind the fender as shown. Route the harness using the flexible steel wire in the indicated direction.
- Grommet Installation: Detach the grommet on the RHS and drill a hole in the center to pass the sensor harness through. After routing the harness, attach the grommet at its designated location and seal it with sealant to prevent water ingress into the cabin. Note: Drill bit size is 10mm.
- Brake Patch Y-Harness: Route the brake patch Y-harness as shown and attach it to the vehicle's brake lamp on the rear windshield. Detach the male connector from the brake lamp and connect it with the female connector of the brake patch Y-harness. Assemble the Y-harness male connector with the vehicle's brake lamp.
- Interior Trim Removal: Remove the interior trim from the car following ELSA Pro guidelines.
- ECU Wiring: Assemble the wires from the sensor harness to the 16-pin white ECU connector in the power harness. Follow the provided color guide for wire fitment in the ECU connector. Assemble the brake connection wire into cavity no. 9 as shown.
- Fuse Box Connections: Pull out the 7.5A fuse (Cavity No. F41) from the fuse box. Connect the vehicle's fuse into the power harness. Install the fuse adapter into the fuse box (Cavity No. F41).
- Ground Terminal: Attach the ground terminal to the M10 bolt located beside the fuse box.
- Dashboard Switch Installation: Remove the dashboard trim from the car following ELSA Pro guidelines and assemble the switch template. Drill a 14mm diameter hole as per the template and assemble the switch into the dashboard. Connect the switch wire with the power harness.
- Buzzer and ECU Assembly: Connect the Buzzer connector with the power harness. Peel off the protection layer of DSA tape and assemble the buzzer behind the fuse box. Assemble the Power harness connector into the ECU. Peel off the protection layer of DSA tape and assemble the ECU in the vehicle beside the fuse box.
- Final Assembly: Tie all loose wires securely. Re-assemble the dashboard parts back following ELSA Pro guidelines. Assemble the car's bumper following ELSA Pro guidelines.
- Final Connection and Testing: Connect the negative terminal of the car battery after the installation is complete. Turn on the switch and test the functioning as described in the user manual.
