Activity Tracking
1. Starting Activity
There are two ways to start an activity:
- From the watch's home screen, swipe left to find "Activity".
- Long press the physical button to quick-start an activity configured in watch Settings.
The Amazfit Bip supports outdoor running, treadmill, cycling, and walking. Before starting an activity, ensure sufficient storage space on the watch. If storage is low, unsynchronized activity data may be overwritten. It is recommended to connect and sync data immediately after finishing an activity to prevent data loss.
For sports modes requiring GPS positioning (outdoor running, cycling, walking), start the activity after GPS successfully acquires a location.
2. Activity Initiated
If the GPS option is initiated and started, the watch provides a three-second countdown before tracking begins.
3. Alerts during Activity
From the watch's home screen, swipe left to access "Activity" → "Activity settings". Tap "Activity settings" to configure "Auto pause", "Heart rate alert", "Pace alert", and "Distance alert".
- Heart rate alert: Set a value for the watch to alert if the heart rate exceeds it. An example display shows "166 Heart rate is too high".
- Pace alert: Set a target pace for the watch to alert if the current pace falls below it.
- Distance alert: Set a desired distance for the watch to alert (e.g., every 2 mile/km).
- Insufficient space alert: The watch vibrates to remind users about insufficient space. Choosing "Continue" will overwrite unsynchronized data, while "End" will stop the activity.
- Space exhaust alert: If space runs out during an activity, the watch vibrates and automatically saves the activity record.
- GPS status change alert: For outdoor activities, the watch vibrates to alert when GPS successfully positions.
Basic approach during Activity
On the activity interface, long press the key to pause the activity; short press the key to switch the screen. Screens can also be switched by swiping up or down manually. An example display shows "7:19 PM", "00:00:35", "0'00" 10.35 /km", "112 km", with indications for "Long Press to pause the activity" and "Short press to switch the screen". Another example shows "13 m", "11.13 km/h", "633"", "21.02 km/h", with an indication for "Swipe up or down to switch the screen".
Suspending/Continuing/Ending Activity
Press and hold the physical button to pause the activity. The paused interface is displayed. Users can tap "Continue" to resume or "End" to stop.
Note: If the activity distance is less than 50 meters, the watch will prompt "distance is too short to save".
Viewing Activity History
Activity history can be viewed on both the watch and the Mi Fit App.
1) Watch
From the watch's home screen, swipe left to access "Activity" → "Activity history". If an unsynchronized activity record exists, an unsynchronized icon appears. This icon disappears once data is successfully synchronized to the app. Tap an activity record to view detailed data.
2) Mi Fit App
Open the Mi Fit App and tap "Activity" below the app home page to view all synchronized activity records.
Deleting Activity History
From the watch's home screen, swipe left to access "Activity" → "Activity history". Swipe up until "Delete" appears.
Note: Ensure the activity is synchronized with the app before deleting it from the watch. To delete the record from the app, it must be deleted manually within the app.
Activity Settings
From the watch's home screen, swipe left to access "Activity" → "Activity settings". Tap "Activity settings" to configure "Auto pause", "Heart rate alert", "Pace alert", and "Distance alert". Once activated, corresponding reminders are performed during the activity.
GPS and A-GPS
When starting outdoor running, the watch automatically searches for a GPS signal. This step can be skipped by tapping "Skip", but GPS will continue searching during the activity.
- If GPS is initiated and started, the watch provides a three-second countdown before tracking begins. Long press the physical button to "pause" and tap "continue" to resume, or "end" to stop.
- After finishing and syncing, the GPS route and details can be viewed in the watch and Mi Fit App.
- GPS signal reception is better in open spaces. After successful location acquisition, the activity can begin. In crowded areas, raising the arm to the chest can speed up GPS positioning.
Assisted GPS (A-GPS) is a system that allows Global Positioning System (GPS) receivers to obtain information from network resources to aid satellite location. An A-GPS system is particularly useful where satellite signals are difficult to penetrate.
A-GPS helps the watch quickly find a precise position and improves accuracy. A-GPS data updates once daily and is automatically updated each time the watch syncs with the Mi Fit App.
Note: If the watch has not synced with the Mi Fit App for 7 days, A-GPS data will expire. Positioning speed may be affected when A-GPS expires, and the watch will remind the user to update when starting an activity.
Heart Rate Zone
During activity, the watch calculates the heart rate zone based on personal information, which helps determine activity effect and intensity. The current heart rate zone is displayed next to the heart rate on the watch. After the activity, the duration in each heart rate zone can be viewed on the "Details" page of Activity history in the app.
By default, there are six zones: Relaxed, Light, Weight, Aerobic, Anaerobic, and VO2 max. These are calculated based on the estimated maximum heart rate, using the commonly used "220 minus age" formula.
Maintenance
The Amazfit Bip is water-resistant, but NOT waterproof.
- Clean the watch and strap periodically with clean water, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Do NOT use shampoo, soaps, or other chemicals to wipe dirt, to avoid skin irritation or watch corrosion.
- Wipe the wrist and watch with a dry cloth or tissue after workouts. Sweat can interfere with accuracy.
Warning:
- The Amazfit Bip is IP68 certified, meaning it is resistant to dust, rain, splashing, and accidental submersion. It can withstand a maximum depth of 1.5 meters of water for up to 30 minutes. Resistance testing is performed in fresh water, normal temperature, and static conditions. It should not be used when showering, bathing, having a spa, swimming, or in a sauna or steam room.
- Do NOT operate the watch underwater. Wipe the watch with a dry cloth before operating the touch screen or charging it.
- The Amazfit Bip is NOT waterproof. The warranty does NOT cover damages or defects caused by misuse or abuse, including but not limited to damage caused by corrosive liquids such as sea water, acid and alkaline solution, and chemical reagents.
