This manual provides instructions for the Dyson Cyclone V10 vacuum cleaner.

Filter Unit Maintenance
Wash the filter unit with cold water at least every month. Ensure the filter unit is completely dry before refitting.

Important Safety Instructions
Read all instructions and cautionary markings before using the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless supervised.
- Do not allow children to use as a toy.
- Use only as described in this manual.
- Suitable for dry locations ONLY. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
- Do not handle the plug or appliance with wet hands.
- Do not use with a damaged cord or plug.
- Contact the Dyson Helpline if the appliance is not working correctly, has been dropped, damaged, or exposed to water.
- Do not stretch the cable or place it under strain. Keep the cable away from heated surfaces.
- Do not use to pick up water, flammable or combustible liquids, or burning or smoking objects.
- Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers, and body parts away from openings and moving parts.
- Do not put any object into openings. Keep openings free of dust, lint, and hair.
- Use only Dyson recommended accessories and replacement parts.
- Do not use without the clear bin and filter in place.
- Unplug when not in use for extended periods and before maintenance or servicing.
- Use extra care when cleaning on stairs.
- Do not install, charge, or use outdoors, in a bathroom, or near a pool.
- Use only Dyson specified chargers.
- FIRE WARNING: Do not place on or near a cooker or hot surface, and do not incinerate. The battery might catch fire or explode.
- Always turn 'OFF' the appliance before connecting or disconnecting the motorized brush bar.
- FIRE WARNING: Do not apply fragrance or scented products to the filters.
- Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the 'OFF' position before connecting the battery pack or carrying the appliance.
- Do not use a damaged or modified battery pack or appliance.
- Do not expose battery pack or appliance to fire or excessive temperature.
- Follow all charging instructions and do not charge outside the specified temperature range.
- Battery Leakage Precautions: In case of battery liquid leakage, avoid contact, wash skin with soap and water, expose to fresh air for inhalation, flush eyes with water for eye contact, and dispose of the battery according to local ordinances.
Operating temperature range: 3°C - 40°C
Storage temperature range: -20°C - 60°C
Recommended charging temperature range: 3°C - 40°C

Using Your Dyson Appliance
Docking Station Installation:
- Unpack the docking station, plug, and installation leaflet.
- Select a suitable location, ensuring no pipework or cables are behind the mounting area.
- Follow the instructions on the installation leaflet.
- Click attachments into place.
- Place the appliance in the docking station.
- Plug in and turn on to charge. The appliance requires a full charge before first use.
- Dyson recommends protective clothing, eyewear, and materials during installation.
Vacuuming:
- Remove the appliance from the docking station.
- Check the cleaner head or tool for foreign objects.
- The appliance has a slider control on the cleaner head to adjust suction:
- MAXIMUM SUCTION FOR GROUND IN DUST AND DEBRIS (+): For durable floor coverings, hard floors, and heavily soiled carpets/rugs. Pre-set to this level on first use.
- SUCTION FOR DUST AND DEBRIS (△): For lightly soiled carpets, rugs, and hard flooring, or for large debris. Move the suction control slider on top of the cleaner head.
- SUCTION FOR DEEP PILE CARPETS AND DELICATE FLOORING (-): For deep pile carpets/rugs or flooring with greater resistance. Also for lightly soiled floors including delicate flooring. Move the suction control slider on top of the cleaner head.
- Check manufacturer's recommended cleaning instructions for flooring, rugs, and carpets before vacuuming.
- Be aware that the brush bar can damage certain carpet types and floors. If fuzzing occurs, vacuum without the motorized floor tool and consult your flooring manufacturer.

Lights During Charging and Use
Lights During Charging:

Emptying the Clear Bin
- Empty the bin when dirt reaches the MAX mark; do not overfill.
- Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the charger before emptying. Avoid pulling the 'ON' trigger.
- Remove the wand by pressing the red wand release button.
- To release dirt: Hold the appliance with the bin downwards, push the red bin release button firmly. The bin base will open.
- To minimize dust/allergen contact, encase the bin in a plastic bag before emptying.
Cleaning the Clear Bin (Optional)
- Follow emptying instructions.
- Press the red button on the bin runner to release the bin.
- Clean the clear bin with a damp cloth only. Ensure it is completely dry before refitting.
- Do not put the clear bin in a dishwasher, or use detergents, polishes, or air fresheners.
Filter and Blockage Indicator LEDs Explained
- Filter indicator flashing intermittently: Filter unit not fitted correctly. Refit according to 'Washing the filter unit' section.
- Filter indicator solid: Filter unit needs washing. Follow 'Washing the filter unit' instructions.
- Blockage Indicator LED: Indicates a blockage. Follow 'Looking for blockages' instructions.
Washable Parts
Your appliance has washable parts that require regular cleaning.
Washing the Filter Unit
- Twist the filter unit counterclockwise to the open position and pull away from the appliance.
- Wash the inside and outside of the filter unit under cold running water until the water runs clear.
- Tap to remove excess water and leave to dry completely with the open end facing up for a minimum of 24 hours.
- Refit by twisting clockwise until it clicks into place.
- More frequent washing may be needed for fine dust or heavy use.
- Do not put the filter unit in a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer, oven, microwave, or near a naked flame.
Blockages - Automatic Cut-Out
- The appliance has an automatic cut-out. If a part becomes blocked, the appliance may cut out automatically after the motor pulses. The blockage indicator LED will illuminate.
- Allow the appliance to cool down before checking for blockages. Ensure it is disconnected from the charger.
- Clear any blockage before restarting. Refit all parts securely.
- Clearing blockages is not covered by your warranty.
Looking for Blockages
- The motor will pulse and the blockage indicator LED will illuminate when there is a blockage.
- Ensure the appliance is disconnected from the charger. Do not operate while checking for blockages.
- Beware of sharp objects.
- To check for blockages in the main body, remove the clear bin and clear the obstruction.
- If an obstruction cannot be cleared from the cleaner head, remove the brush bar using a coin to unlock the fastener. Remove the obstruction and refit the brush bar securely.
- Carbon fibre brushes may cause minor skin irritation. Wash hands after handling.
- Clearing blockages is not covered by your warranty.
Charging and Storing
- The appliance will switch 'OFF' if the battery temperature is below 3°C (37.4°F) to protect the motor and battery. Do not store the appliance in temperatures below 3°C after charging.
- To prolong battery life, avoid recharging immediately after a full discharge; allow it to cool for a few minutes.
- Avoid using the appliance with the battery flush to a surface to help it run cooler and prolong battery life.
Battery Safety Instructions
- Contact the Dyson Helpline if the battery needs replacing.
- Use only Dyson chargers.
- In case of battery liquid leakage, avoid contact and follow precautions for skin contact, inhalation, eye contact, and disposal.
Caution
- The battery may present a risk of fire or chemical burn if mistreated. Do not disassemble, short contacts, heat above 60°C (140°F), or incinerate. Keep away from children.

Disposal Information
- Recycle where possible.
- Remove the battery before disposal and dispose of it according to local ordinances.

2 Year Parts and Labour Warranty
What is Covered:
- Your Dyson appliance is warranted against original defects in materials and workmanship for 2 years from the date of purchase for normal domestic use. Retain your proof of purchase. If proof of purchase is unavailable, the warranty starts 90 days after the manufacture date. This warranty covers all labour and parts necessary for proper operating condition during the warranty period.
What is Not Covered:
- Purchases from unauthorized dealers.
- Careless operation, misuse, abuse, lack of maintenance, or use not in accordance with the manual.
- Use for commercial or rental purposes.
- Use of non-Dyson parts and accessories.
- External sources like weather, electrical outages, or power surges.
- Repairs or alterations by unauthorized parties.
- Clearing blockages or washing the filter.
- Normal wear and tear, including normal wearing parts (clear bin, filter, tools, power cord), or diagnosed external damage or abuse.
- Reduction in battery discharge time due to age or use.
- Damage from use not in accordance with the rating plate.
- Use on rubble, ash, plaster, drywall, liquids, or wet surfaces.
- Appliances with altered or removed serial numbers.
Warranty Limitations and Exclusions:
- Implied warranties are limited to the duration of this warranty.
- Remedy is limited to warranty service described.
- Dyson Canada Limited is not liable for consequential or incidental damages.
- This warranty gives specific legal rights which may vary by Province/Territory.
- This warranty is not transferable and is only available in Canada.

- Contact the Dyson Helpline with model name/number, serial number, date, and place of purchase before service. Keep your purchase receipt.
- Work coordinated by Dyson Canada Limited or authorized agents. Replaced parts become Dyson property.
- Service under this warranty does not extend the warranty period.
- Call the Dyson Helpline at 1-877-397-6622 if the appliance is not functioning properly.
