IKEA HAUGA Sideboard Assembly Instructions

Important Safety Information

⚠️ WARNING: Children have died from furniture tipover. To reduce the risk of furniture tipover:

• ALWAYS install the anti-tip device provided.
• NEVER put a TV on this product.
• NEVER allow children to stand, climb, or hang on any drawers, doors, or shelves.
• NEVER open more than one drawer at a time.
• Place heaviest items in the lowest drawers.

Read and follow each step of the instructions carefully.

Tools and Hardware Required

Tools:

• Screwdriver (Phillips head)
• Screwdriver (Flathead)
• Hammer
• Tape measure
• Pencil
• Drill
• Drill bits: Ø 8 mm (5/16"), Ø 3 mm (1/8")

Hardware Overview (Illustrative):

Various screws, dowels, wall plugs, drawer slides, hinges, handles, and other fasteners are included. Specific quantities and part numbers are indicated in each assembly step.

Step 1: Prepare Base Panels

Insert 9 dowels (part 146114) into the pre-drilled holes on each of the two base panels (labeled IKEA CR and IKEA CL).

Step 2: Attach Drawer Slides

Attach the drawer slides (parts 10051084, 144574) to the prepared base panels using screws (part 10051084). Ensure correct orientation as shown in the diagram.

Step 3: Attach Side Panels

Connect the side panels to the base assembly. Use the provided connectors (part 10039873) and ensure they click into place. Four connectors are used in this step.

Step 4: Install Internal Dividers

Insert the internal vertical dividers into the designated slots on the base. Secure them with the provided connectors (part 146114). Four connectors are used.

Step 5: Attach Top Panel

Place the top panel onto the assembled structure. Secure it using the provided connectors (part 10039873). Eight connectors are used.

Step 6: Attach Support Brackets

Attach the support brackets (part 105811) to the inside of the structure using screws (part 155370). Two brackets are attached, each with two screws.

Step 7: Install Back Panels

Slide the back panels into the grooves on the rear of the unit.

Step 8: Secure Back Panels

Secure the back panels using tape or fasteners as indicated.

Step 9: Attach Bottom Support Rails

Attach the bottom support rails using 12 screws (part 151708) and washers.

Step 10: Attach Drawer Runners

Attach the drawer runners (parts 10093081, 10093082) to the internal dividers using screws. Six runners are attached.

Step 11: Attach Drawer Bottom Panels

Secure the drawer bottom panels using 12 screws (part 151707).

Step 12: Attach Base Supports

Attach the base supports (part 150688) to the bottom of the unit using screws (part 147968). Two supports are attached.

Step 13: Attach Drawer Front Support Rails

Attach the drawer front support rails using 8 dowels (part 101345) and 8 screws.

Step 14: Attach Drawer Side Rails

Attach the drawer side rails using 8 dowels (part 101345) and 8 screws.

Step 15: Attach Drawer Handles

Attach the drawer handles (parts 153548, 158568) to the drawer fronts using screws (parts 10040039, 10051022). Four handles are attached.

Step 16: Attach Top Back Edge

Attach the top back edge piece to the rear of the unit using screws (part 151708). Four screws are used. Ensure correct alignment.

Step 17: Attach Door Hinges to Cabinet

Attach the door hinges (parts 151707, 151708) to the cabinet body. Two hinges are attached.

Step 18: Attach Door Hinges to Doors

Attach the door hinges (part 150689) to the doors. Two hinges are attached.

Step 19: Insert Drawers

Slide the assembled drawers into the corresponding runners within the sideboard.

Step 20: Attach Drawer Runners to Drawers

Attach the drawer runners (parts 10051650, 10051660) to the drawer boxes. Sixteen runners are used.

Step 21: Attach Drawer Fronts

Attach the drawer fronts to the drawer boxes. Ensure correct alignment.

Step 22: Wall Anchoring

⚠️ Wall Anchoring is Crucial to Prevent Tip-Over.

Use the provided screws and plugs for most solid (A) and hollow (B) walls. For solid wood (C), use screws without plugs. If you are uncertain about your wall type, seek professional advice.

Instructions for Wall Anchoring:

Type A (Solid Walls): Drill a Ø 8 mm (5/16") hole, insert the plug (part 121714), and screw in the anchor bolt (part 147968). Ensure the anchor is flush with the wall.

Type B (Hollow Walls): Drill a Ø 8 mm (5/16") hole, insert the plug (part 121714), and screw in the anchor bolt (part 147968). Ensure the anchor is flush with the wall.

Type C (Solid Wood): Drill a Ø 3 mm (1/8") hole and screw in the anchor bolt (part 147968) directly without a plug.

The anchor bolt (part 158469) is used to secure the furniture to the wall bracket.

Step 23: Attach Door Handles

Attach the door handles using screws (part 10051650, 10051660). Sixteen handles are attached.

Step 24: Insert Shelves

Place the shelves into the designated compartments within the sideboard.

Step 25: Attach Door Hinges to Doors

Attach the door hinges (part 10039878) to the doors. Four hinges are attached.

Step 26: Attach Hinges to Cabinet

Attach the hinges (part 10039873) to the cabinet body. Four hinges are attached.

Step 27: Attach Doors to Cabinet

Attach the doors to the cabinet by connecting the hinges. Two doors are attached.

Step 28: Adjust Doors

Adjust the doors for proper alignment using the adjustment screws on the hinges. This allows for up/down, left/right, and in/out adjustments.

Step 29: Attach Drawer Slides to Cabinet

Attach the drawer slides (parts 10042135, 10050715, 10070233, 144574, 10051084) to the internal dividers of the cabinet. Four sets of slides are attached.

Step 30: Assemble Drawer Boxes

Assemble the drawer boxes. Attach the drawer sides and back to the drawer base using dowels (part 118331) and screws. Two drawer boxes are assembled (1x and 2x configurations shown).

Step 31: Attach Drawer Fronts

Attach the drawer front panels to the assembled drawer boxes using dowels (part 101345). Two drawer fronts are attached using 2 dowels each, and two drawer fronts are attached using 4 dowels each.

Step 32: Attach Drawer Sides to Drawer Fronts

Connect the drawer sides to the drawer fronts, ensuring they are properly aligned and secured.

Step 33: Attach Drawer Back Panels

Attach the drawer back panels to the drawer assembly using screws (parts 119030, 118224, 120076). Four screws are used.

Step 34: Insert Drawer Bottom Panels

Slide the drawer bottom panels into the grooves of the assembled drawer boxes.

Step 35: Secure Drawer Bottom Panels

Secure the drawer bottom panels as shown in the diagram.

Step 36: Attach Drawer Sides to Drawer Backs

Connect the drawer sides to the drawer back panels.

Step 37: Attach Drawer Front Panels

Attach the drawer front panels to the drawer assembly using screws (part 159553, 145718). Four screws are used.

Step 38: Attach Drawer Runners to Cabinet

Attach the drawer runners (parts 119030, 118224, 120076) to the cabinet body. Four sets of runners are attached.

Step 39: Attach Drawer Slides to Drawers

Attach the drawer slides (parts 10043622, 10050475) to the drawer boxes. Two sets of slides are attached, each with 6 screws (part 146114).

Step 40: Attach Drawer Handles

Attach the drawer handles (part 10052019) to the drawer fronts using screws (part 119976). Two handles are attached.

Step 41 & 42: Final Checks and Drawer Insertion

Ensure all parts are securely fastened. Insert the assembled drawers into the sideboard.

Hinge Adjustment

The hinges allow for adjustment of the doors. Use the adjustment screws on the hinges to fine-tune the door alignment. Adjustments can be made for height, depth, and side-to-side positioning to ensure doors hang straight and close properly.
