LiitoKala Lii-500 Instruction Manual

1. Warning

  • This charger can only charge cylindrical lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries, not lithium iron phosphate batteries.
  • Before use, please refer to the instruction manual carefully and pay attention to the recommended charging current of the rechargeable battery. Do not charge more than the recommended current.
  • Do not use other power adapters.
  • The charger may generate heat when charging and discharging, so be careful not to get burned.
  • When stopping use, please unplug the power source and remove the battery.
  • Can only be used indoors.
  • This product testing data is for reference only. Please refer to professional instruments for actual conditions.

2. Characteristics

  • 4 types of charging current adjustment (300mA/500mA/700mA/1000mA).
  • Can charge batteries of different specifications (18650/26650.../AA/AAA) at the same time.
  • This charger uses an independent LCD screen to display voltage (V), current (mA), time (h), capacity (mAh) and internal resistance (mR) parameters at a glance.
  • In CHARGE mode, 4 channels work independently, and you can choose different charging currents to charge and mix lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries.
  • In FAST TEST mode, 4 channels can quickly detect battery capacity, regardless of lithium-ion batteries and nickel-metal hydride batteries, they all work independently. The process of quickly detecting battery capacity consists of 2 steps (1 Discharge, 2 Full).
  • NOR TEST mode, the normal battery capacity detection process consists of 3 steps (1 is fully charged first, 2 is then discharged, 3 is then fully charged), and the battery capacity detection process is completed.
  • CHARGE and FAST TEST/NOR TEST 3 modes can work at the same time; independently set charging/fast capacity detection/normal capacity detection functions.
  • Multiple protection functions: overcharge and over-discharge, short circuit, temperature, 0V voltage activation function, (- △ V & 0 △ V), 1.65V-2.2V non-charging function, intelligent identification of bad batteries and reverse battery detection and protection.
  • With standard 5V/1000 mA USB output function: USB output is completed from 1 lithium battery to 4 lithium batteries. The nickel metal hydride battery of this product cannot be equipped with USB output.
  • Equipped with a dedicated power adapter: DC input voltage: 12V/2A.

3. Description of buttons

  • The charger has 6 buttons: mode selection button (MODE), current selection button (CURREN), independent selection and data viewing button (1234), which are simple and convenient to use.
  • Press and hold the MODE button under any circumstances for 3 seconds to change the CHARGE (charging) mode or FAST TEST, NOR TEST (capacity test) mode, and then tap the corresponding function button again within 8 seconds to change. Current, independent, hybrid charging, capacity detection, enter the working state 8 seconds after selecting the function. In the working state, you can lightly press the (1234) button to view the current (mA) / capacity (mAh) / voltage (V) / time (h) / internal resistance (mR) data reference value.

4. Mode operation instructions

CHARGE (charge mode)

  1. When the charger is powered on, all the LCD screens of the charger will light up instantly. If the battery is not inserted, "Null" will be displayed. If a bad battery is inserted, "Null" will also be displayed.
  2. Put the charger into the battery and turn on the power. The charger will measure the internal resistance of the battery in about 3 seconds. After that, the system will automatically enter the charging mode (CHARGE). The charger will automatically default the charging current to "500mA". You can use the current selection key (CURREN) to select 300mA, 500mA, 700mA, and 1000mA current for charging. The system will lock the current you selected for charging after 8 seconds. If no setting is made within 8 seconds, the system will automatically default to 500mA. At this time, the current and other functions cannot be changed. If you need to change, you need to change the mode key and press and hold to select.
  3. In charging mode (CHARGE), independent charging or different current selections can be changed within 8 seconds, as well as mixed charging of different batteries. The operation is simple. Within 8 seconds, lightly press the button corresponding to the 1234 battery, then press the mode button to change the mode. Press the current button to change the current, independent, mixed charging, and capacity detection functions. It will enter the working state 8 seconds after selection. Pay attention to the battery according to the Select the charging current according to the capacity. If fast charging is not required, it is recommended to use 500mA charging, which is the safest.
  4. In charging mode, you can switch to view the charging capacity (mAh)/charging time (h)/battery internal resistance (mR)/charging current (mA) and voltage (V) by lightly pressing the 1234 key. The battery is fully charged. Afterwards, it will display "(charging completed)".

Two capacity testing modes (FAST TEST, NOR TEST)

(1) FAST TEST (fast capacity test mode)

  1. When the charger is placed in the battery and connected to the power supply, lightly press (MODE key) within 8 seconds to select (FAST TEST fast capacity detection mode), and then press (current selection key CURREN) to select the required current. The system will lock your selection for work after 8 seconds.

Note: The document references "Quick capacity detection process reference table 1" here, which is not provided in the text. This table would typically detail the steps and parameters for the fast capacity test.

The battery is discharged first, then fully charged and the charging power is recorded to detect the battery capacity. Note that when this product is in capacity detection mode, the discharge mode is divided into two types. When you select the charging current as (300mA, 500mA), the system automatically defaults to the discharge current of 250mA. When you select the charging current as (700mA, 1000mA), the system automatically defaults the discharge current to 500mA.

(2) NOR TEST (normal capacity detection mode)

  1. NOR TEST mode: The battery is fully charged first, then the battery is discharged and the discharged amount is recorded to detect the battery capacity, and then the battery is automatically fully charged.

Note: The document references "Table 2 for the capacity detection process" here, which is not provided in the text. This table would typically detail the steps and parameters for the normal capacity test.

  1. After the charger is placed in the battery and connected to the power supply, press the (mode button MODE) lightly within 8 seconds to select the NOR TEST mode. Press and hold the mode button for 2 seconds in any state to enter the NOR TEST mode.
  2. After entering the NOR TEST mode, you can select 300mA, 500mA, 700mA, or 1000mA current through the current selection key (CURREN) within 8 seconds. The system will lock the current you selected after 8 seconds. If no setting is made within these 8 seconds, the system will automatically lock the 500mA current for charging (the current selected at this time is the system's default charging current, and the discharge current of 250mA will be automatically selected during discharge). If 700mA or 1000mA current is selected for charging, the discharge current will be automatically selected as 500mA when discharging.
  3. When the battery is fully charged, the system automatically switches to discharging. The discharging current is set to the system default value (it depends on the current selected for charging), and records the data during discharging to detect the battery capacity. When the screen appears, the capacity detection mode ends. At this time, the parameters displayed on the LCD screen are the actual capacity reference values of the battery.
  4. After the capacity detection mode ends, the charger will charge the battery again with the previously selected current parameters until it is fully charged.

5. USB 5V output

  • USB is only used as a 5V mobile output, the output current is 1000mA, and the USB output is invalid when connected to the power supply.
  • When the battery is placed in the slot, it will output USB/5V and wake up. At this time, it can power 5V electronic products.
  • Any of the 4 battery slots of the product can be used for USB output. It is recommended to put batteries in both slots.
  • USB 5V output is only valid for 3.7V lithium batteries, and nickel metal hydride boost is invalid.
